I see some comments say that the singer doesn't sound like Geddy Lee. Nobody does though. But they did a really good job. I have been a Rush fan since I first heard them in 1977. Love and miss them. All the bands that play their music we need to give some respect for keeping their music around. Peace
One of my favorite RUSH songs, and I am a HUGE fan. Great cover all around, but man that guitar was unreal ! If I closed my eyes I would think that was Alex playing - OUTSTANDING!
Awesome. Love Caress of Steel. One of the most under appreciated Rush albums. Great cover version. Your band should be proud, you are in select company as one of the few band who have covered this song. Dream Theatre also covered this one.
Caress of Steel was the first album i ever bought ....ever ...... It was 1978 ...I was 11 years old..9 month later i went 22 miles from home to see Rush on the Hemispheres tour at the City Hall Newcastle England.Boy did i get wrong when i got home...Didn't care ,what a night.Different times back in the day. Gen X and all that.
What I've been doing Rush since 1976 and you guys are kicking my my ass but I appreciate what you guys are doing because this music should never be forgotten about
This is remarkable! So many Rush tributes fall to the way side on the vocals. It’s awesome to hear some Rush tunes with an incredible vocalist. Musicianship is equally outstanding! A Rush tribute band has finally managed to nail it!
Jeez dudes and dudette, you so nailed this. The guitar sound is so damn close you'd think you're listening to the studio guitar track. And all the instruments for that matter. That ending was fricken tight! ❤
Wow! Thank you for caring about this song as much as I do. Absolutely stellar performance by all. I've been a gigging bass player for 35 years. The bass tone in this video is just awesome. So badass to play this song.
We may be playing in Scotland in 2025. You should go to our website and sign up for our mailing list so you know when we announce it. www.solarfederationband.com/
I’m crying at the similarities between the world of the necromancer and the emergence of prince bytor to remove darkness from the land and restore hope. I bow to all four of you. You are masters of your art and worthy of worship
I really hope you play loud concerts, because when I go see you jamming to obscure songs like this, I want to feel it in my bones!!! Amazing performance!!
I just want to say new beat the crap out of this old Rush fan it's been playing this music since 1975 and you're better than me that's okay I appreciate you guys I forgive you
One of my favourite Rush songs! There's hardly any live performances of this available to see (by anyone) so thank you! Fantastic job. As a guitarist myself, he did an awesome job. I'd love to know what amp/gear he's using, that tone is almost identical to the actual album itself!!
It took a lot of work to transcribe this song and get it up to performance standards for guitar. I use a Kemper profiler for the tone... also took a lot of research and time. The amp is a Marshall JMP 50 watt like Alex's original Marshall and a LP Standard. ~Eric (Guitarist-Solar Federation)
There is very little information on the internet for this song. If you can find a tab it's probably not very accurate. No live vids, etc either. It took me 4 months to transcribe this song on my own basically. It was a lot of work but was well worth it to perform this song at Neil's memorial. His voice is all over it. ~ Eric W.
@@solarfederation well you pulled it off extremely well. was wondering how you got the volume swells/ambient sounds at the beginning, I'm guessing they're recorded along with Neil's "narrator" voice, but then how did you get the timing right to sync that with your live playing.
I recreated the volume swells and voice for the beginning and end sections. The middle part is Neil and the sounds from the album. There's no way to isolate the beginning and end parts so I had to figure out how to re-create. A lot of work along with transcribing the rhythm guitar parts and four solos. We will actually be performing this song in it's entirety at Neil's Memorial at The Merdian Center in Canada... when it happens. ~Eric Wirsing (Guitar)
Guitar sound meets the orig very well. As it is live, sounds a little too clean in the end. Drum side camera isn't in sync. Voice could better go without vibrato. Though I like the soul feeling interpretation. Still love to hear that solid early years prog song again and again. Good to hear their heritage lives on.
The Shunpiker of the Shadowlands shows his ghost 👻 rider in this one! Holy Brooding in the Tower batman! - signed Empty Mindless Spectre. 😢 they bow defeated. Holy crap this is good . Of course if Betsy summers is here it must be good.

I saw them at Neil’s tribute concert in St Catharines Ontario. They did a killer cover of this song.
Thank you! What an honor to headline at A Night For Neil... scary too!
Such a great job. I always thought that this album had some of the most beautiful guitar work ever delivered.
Couldn't agree more!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VIDEO.. THE TRACK IS PHENOMENAL..THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS VIDEO..
Glad you enjoyed it!
One of my favorite Rush tunes - and off my favorite Rush album!
: )
: )
Early Rush had a different feel. It's my preferred Era. Edgier, grittier. The 3 kings of Rock. 💪
Alex was definitely more bluesy and did some serious shredding in the early days. ~Eric
Holy cow! The guitarist is from another world. Exact CoS tone. Thanks
Wow! Thank you Ken.
@@solarfederation Dream Theatres guitar man really tore this one up too !!!😊

Best guitar I have seen of any RUSH cover band by far. He totally nailed it on this song.
Thank you! That took a lot of work to learn that song but was worth it.

Agreed!! Very difficult to pull off live too!

Ok, so normally, I don't condone Rush tribute acts, but I will admit that this was an AWESOME performance of a very underrated song!! Nice job guys!!
