I can't quite explain it, but when I hear this song's intro, whether it's performed by you or Rush...I tear up. Seriously. Tears run down my face.
It's just such a powerful, emotional song that is so well crafted, that as soon as that guitar riff kicks in, I've already gone through half a box of Kleenex.
THAT is the power of Rush, and you all did one hell of a job capturing that power and using it in your own way. You're fucking awesome, all of you!

Really good. What makes this is the originality of the vocals. While the other members try playing the parts of Rush she doesn’t try to sound like Geddy and it really works for them.

The singer has some serious pipes. Great job on a very hard song to everyone in this incredible band. I seen Rush 32 times live, beginning on the Permanent Waves tour in 1980 and never missed a show after. They do this song every night and it’s always a big part of the show since it’s one of their many masterpieces. You guys did a very awesome job covering it. No one can do it like the masters themselves, but this was damned close.

We haven't played Xanadu for a while because we were performing "The Necromancer" in preparation for Neil Peart's memorial in Canada last year. I'm sure we will start playing it again sometime in 2023. Not sure if we will have it in our set by Kennett but it's possible. We play a lot of other songs I think you guys will enjoy though. Hope to see you there.

Please give us the upload of you performing at Englewood. I honestly thought after listening to Rush from a young boy in the 70's until Neil Peart's untimely death I would never hear them live again, until that night lol.

We haven't performed "Xanadu", this year, since March. The reason is that it's been requested that we perform "The Necromancer" at A Night For Neil (Neil Peart Memorial in Canada) so we've been putting that song in every show to make sure it's polished and we are comfortable performing it. After AN4N in October we will start putting "Xanadu" back in our shows because we love playing it and RUSH fans love it too.
As far as videos from The Englewood in September, we did record the audio and video for that show but it probably won't be until early next year until we get those videos out. Thanks for your interest!

I think you can find some fan vids on Facebook from that Englewood show that are pretty good. We won't have the ones we recorded out for a bit though.

I have to say that this song feels much more meaningful when performed by this woman.. . Just a completely different experience - call it a certain sensitivity, a powerful femininity, I'm not sure exactly.... Combined with the incredible talent of the band - it's completely captivating. I stopped being a Rush fan many many years ago, but this group is compelling. Excellent excellent performance...

The synthesizers at the beginning are an improvement, even live. Such a long intro. . . I remember watching a RUclips reaction-video regarding this song. . .and the reviewer started evaluating it a bit before the music starts. Guitar WAY to fast, in my opinion. Very precise, though.

@solarfederation need to get to the yardbirds club in grimsby. Very popular place for tribute bands.
Great stuff. My only negative is: Get your sound man to listen to Neil's snare. This (And your other live tracks I've heard) sounds like your drummer has a towel over it. Cos everything else sounds so great it stands out.
