    Nice job that is so much easier than a 2008 optima where you got to press the bearing in and out and the hub assembly

    Good video but being a aircraft mechanic I’m constantly amazed most auto mechanics do not use specific torques on Newley installed components. These bolts should be torqued to 65-87 foot pounds. Never use a impact wrench to tighten you can over torque and damage hub flange. Overall good video

      I make aircraft parts. Everything on a plane, spacecraft, or nuclear submarines have to be very precise. Even a hundred thousands of an inch off can ruin a part. The stuff we deal with is more sensitive stuff than a car I guess.

    I test drove a 2006 Optima yesterday with 123k miles, considering if I want to purchase. I did hear some grinding noise, front right. Brake pads were new, but rotor looks worn slightly. With experience from another car, I believe it could be the bearing. Your video has been the best video on how to change the bearing I've ever seen!! Excellent POV and talking through the process. I will subscribe to your channel.

    I was going to pound out one broken stud , where a portion of the dust shield is cut. Now I see I can do the hub, which I have seen over-complicated videos posted. This video takes the reluctance to tackle this away. Thanks

    Hi friend. what a great video. I am a visitor from Mexico. I thank you for the video now I know how to do the procedure to change those hubs and the cv axles, I have to do complete maintenance on the front suspension and I have a buzzing noise in the hubs so I will change them. Greetings again and you have a follower from Mexico.

    2013 Hyundai Sonata doesn’t have a unitized hub assembly as in this video. Mine has the hub bearing press fit in the steering knuckle and the hub press fit through the bearing which equates to more work. Great video though but I do believe different model years were equipped differently. 😉

      Did you end up doing this job on your own? Went to parts store and Kia dealer and bearing has to be pressed in which I was about to do until the guy told me the tool was $170.

    • @DULLAHGOSOHARD
      @DULLAHGOSOHARD  4 года назад

      What you can do is buy the new bearings and take off the old one and take it to a shop that can press in and out the bearings that way they can't charge you too much because they didn't take off the parts

    • @ghostbuilder3187
      @ghostbuilder3187 4 года назад

      @@DULLAHGOSOHARD or if you’re mechanically inclined for to harbor freight buy a fwd bearing puller. You still need a puller to pull the hub shaft out the bearing. Then you have to cut the inner race off the hub shaft. So if it’s a one time thing go to a shop. If you doing it all the time well then I’d equip myself with the necessary tools to be speedy and quality savvy. Honestly if you’re here asking all these questions I’d just take it to a shop.

    This worked perfectly for my 2015 Hyundai i40 (same part). Only difference is mine was no where near as clean and had to be beaten repeatedly with a hammer before it came out!

  • @jhonsonmaison4582

    I think you should always test to see if the new part will not give any sound before assembling. Like turning and listening for usual noise

      I just bought new loaded left and right steering knuckle assembly from Canada. I have a 2013 kia optima sx turbo corsa blue loaded off the showroom floor. 131k on the car. Kia replaced my engine free of charge after major engine failure 4k ago. Just did the first oil change the other day. Drove to Colorado and back home on a quick trip. I bought the set I got because it has everything all pre loaded. The sx turbo in the first 5 months of 2013 is completely different with soo many weird parts. I've kept this car going after all these years. She gets down. Wish I could replace the hub/bearing assembly on my kia this easy but nope. It's all good. The new setup looks alot stronger!
