I had my first driving lesson on Friday after watching some of your videos (at the age of 29) my instructor thought i was having him on when i went in so confident and knowing the controls and how to steer.. junctions this week! He mentioned that he was so surprised as he has some students who aren’t at my level after 5+ lessons. Your videos are absolutely invaluable; thankyou!!
I am here even though I am in Germany learning for the first time to drive a car. We are driving here on the right side but still these videos help me so much to understand how and what is going on when I am driving. Richard your driving tips are the best, thank you so much for making videos for us new drivers. Much appreciated! 💝
focus vision vs peripheral vision ... the way looking at next point... it's not only driving skills you're teaching.. it's life skill ... to lead life smoothly.... thank you so much man. you're gem ⭐⭐ i found you today. binged around 10 videos .. step by step.. thank you for everything.🤗🤗🤗🤗
Your lessons are priceless because they are addressing the real problems. You have really mastered the art of teaching people how to really drive. Many thank you
I started driving practice a week ago and your advice has been so helpful. Keep it up man, your doing us all a favour, making driving safer, easier to understand and even more fun.

I appreciate that you mention your criticism of the Hazard Awareness test, that really has (unfortunately) trained me to identify problems like a hawk. The pen/paper exercise really opened my eyes to that.
The xplanation on your demonstration starting at 7:00, regarding feels where your body heading to rather seeing where the car facing, really improve my driving. You did awesome job bro! 👍🏻👍🏻
I don't know his name but he's our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight. I have learnt more from his videos in 2 days than I did in the last 1 month of "TIPS" from everyone. Fantastic tutorials!!! Thanks a lot!
Thank you for this video, so helpful! Wish steering would have been explained like this in my lessons rather than having been criticised my steering isn't up to standard in the first and second lesson ... in the end I found my own way instinctively in the 4th lesson.
Thank you Thank you Thank you! I was really struggling with my steering and was getting annoyed by my instructor constantly touching my wheel because of how bad I am
My mother in law gave me a lesson last week, I didn't realize how scary it would be. I kept swerving left because I thought oncoming was going to crash into me, and I kept swerving right because it looks like the car is on the curb, it also looks like the drivers side is slightly in the wrong lane, hence the swerving to the left lool so weird. These videos help so much
I was actually doing quite a different mistake when turning right into a main road. I would literally come out of a junction in a straight line so far that then I would need to do a 90 degree turn in the middle of a new road to get myself towards the right 😂 My first 4-5 lessons were a nightmare with steering, I was avoiding the kerb like my life depended on it, always steering wide, or cutting corners, never straightening up in time, coming back home all sad and frustrated. And then around my 6-7th lesson something changed, I've started to look Into a new road when turning instead of a kerb, I've started to FEEL when I need to straighten up, so I think it came to me naturally with practice. I now had 10 hours of lessons, and my steering is more or less okay, I just still mess up sometimes on very tight junctions.
I feel less miserable now knowing im not the only one, steering is my main struggle even im getting a lot lot better with my 12th hour today even my instructor said that to me, but i still feel a little uncomfortable on tight junctions as u said. I bet you've got a lot better now tho xD
I have had 22 hours of driving lessons in a automatic and I wish you was my instructor. I have learnt more and understand where I keep going wrong watching you're videos than I have with my instructor. My instructor keeps getting annoyed when I am making the same mistakes :(
Thank you for this video, my steering has been a nightmare these past 3 lessons I’ve had and also the positioning of my car, this has helped on what I should do and has also identified the mistakes I keep doing. Many thanks again!
Richard you are an absolute legend!! Thank you so much for making this excellent video. I tried this method on a student who has been struggling and it really helped. We can now turn corners and stay on the road!! Thank you again ... all your videos are great, you're awesome :)
Thank you so much for this video! I have been in drivers school for about 2-3 weeks now and my instructor told me last lesson that everything is ok, except my direction which is very bad. I still cannot hold the car straight in the center of the lanes or do turns properly. :( Since I have poor eyesight (Ive been wearing glasses since I was 7) and have always been a very clumsy person with poor spatial awareness, I started to dread that maybe I am just not cut out to drive. Your video gives me hope that this is something that I can work on!
Thank you so much! Your demonstration is 100% helpful!!! I had my first driving lesson several days ago, finding it’s a bit hard for me to steer well. After watching your video, I have confidence to better my next driving experience!🤗
so feeling and predicting about where the car is reaching in a few seconds in relation to the direction of the wheels and then steering it back to its original position would be the key for beginners.. I see.. Thank you.
it’s literally been so hard for me to position well when I’m turning into roads, so this video really made me understand what I needed to do, sadly bc of lockdown I can’t practice this now but thank you so much for this video!!! ❤️

the last exercise with the marker was an amazing example and well explained method to undertand you point, you ARE an amazing instructor, please do some videos with your students, people will interested the progress from each of your students pleaseeeeeeee
1. Look at the midpoint of the side of the road you are in 2. In the bends look as far as only the bend reaches the straight road. 3. Focus on where you have to go . Rather than the obstacles in your way. Use your peripheral vision to notice the obstacles in the way .but focus on where you have to go 4. Look as a person where you are heading and ' not 'where the windscreen of the car is heading at the bends when you are steering.
Your content is pure masterpiece! All these natural things must be in driving courses before getting in the car, after that the first thing is precising with clutch, and only then go on the road to see the real situation - road lines, signs, pedestrians and everything, but actually prepared to control the car or at least to have the idea without worrying too much.
Yeah I agree. I got one hour with a car in a mostly empty road. Basically just had to move forward at a very slow pace and turn around the corner, that was it. Next lesson I was on a road with a bunch of things to look out for. It was terrible. I'm convinced they should give you two lessons in an empty practicing ground where they teach you all of this basic stuff and let you learn to feel things on your own (the biting point, the precision for your steering and your pedals, etc). That way when you begin driving in real situations you don't need to figure that out on the road.
This is also helpful in judging how much the road bends, which gives a better idea if you’ll need to decelerate or maintain speed as you make the turn, as some turns won’t always have an advisory speed limit.
Back test prepping after a long break (and four failx) over steering is one of i think three small errors I have? Glad I found this video before my lesson!
I'm a new leaner i got my learners today's I always wonder how much to turn the wheel and end up doing too much turning but with your explanation I understand what your saying and how to do it.
