Toyota should DEFINITELY manufacture this. It would be my next car.
@@stuwest5862 1) There’s no price point yet 😂
2) Yes.
I want mine in black 😎
@@BarrySoetoro187 that would look awesome! I wonder what color schemes they could come out with… I think Toyota has great colors for the TRD lines.
@@GrantWood. with the way things are going we probably won't be able to get one for decades 😕
@@BarrySoetoro187 so true… we can only dream! I’ll still enjoy camping in our ‘07 FJ with my wife until the Tacozilla is ready😂🤘🏼
So awesome to see Marty so stoked, he's like a kid telling his friends about his new toy.
Yeah it was really cool to see it too🙌
Passion is always seen, something big companies miss, we notice when you care and don't care. You could make money selling grilled cheese, if you put passion in it I always say.
I love it. Saw it at SEMA myself and was impressed. Probably needs a turbo and some air bags in the back. The springs looked maxed out. But amazing rig for sure. Toyota would make a killing if they made these again. They would need a good partner because toyota doesn't make RVs. They just provide the base truck.
That would be a really cool thing to see
LOL, I love how excited he gets talking about Tacozilla. I get winded too, when I get excited like that. Shows true passion! And, TEAK! Seriously. Pure class!!!
I’D DEFINITELY BUY THIS!! MY WIFE AND I ARE GOING CRAZY OVER THIS!!!!!
*And the crowd goes wild!*
I love his explanation on the preference of manual over automatic transmission.
Thank You Sir
You can seriously see how proud Marty is for this build so cool to see that passion. Such an awesome build
Would be phenomenal if Toyota started manufacture this! It's everything I've been looking for in ONE truck! Love it!
They should make it automatic for the people who don't want to own a house but want to live off grid. They should definitely manufacture more models of this.
Agreed 👍
Man, if this was a double cab and with the long bed version for more room for the living spaces, this would definitely be on my list!! Love this conversion!! A tiny apartment with Toyota’s reliability, this is a win-win!! Marty, you’re the best!!! Tacozilla for the Win!
All Tacoma are he same length. A double cab would cut short the space in the back. Only reason I don't have a Taco. Only a access cab with 5'ft bed would fit in my garage.
Awesome video & interview, such an amazing build
I love my 2014 Toyota Tacoma Pre Runner crew cab! I bought her new & she has about 112,000. She still looks brand new & I will never sell her. She has never had any issues & has taken us on many road trips & brought us home safely. Again, NEVER SELLING HER! 🥰👊🏽❤️
Right on!
This is such an awesome build! Thanks for the walk around!
Thanks for watching!
Man this is beautiful. I mean if it's less than the cost of a new home.. like the man said.it would be great for just getting out of town. Love the idea behind the manual. In Alaska I think snowboarders would love it too. I hope we will see this soon.
Nice! I dig the 1980's Taco Bell aesthetic and access to the camper from inside the vehicle. I don't see myself as a Van Life or RV type of person, but I could easily see myself getting one of these when I retire.
“Taco Bell aesthetic” 😂😂😂
Love the manual trasmission and yes toyota should manufacture this.
LOV!!! Toyota just targeted a huge demographic of campers and explorers with this one! BRILLIANT!!!!!
I would be SO happy to see Toyota start making Class C campers again! I absolutely loved my '89 Toyota Dolphin! Building in a receiver hitch and tow package would be awesome! My primary issue with my Dolphin was that I had no way to bring my motorcycle!
That’s so sick! Woulda loved to see it
I love the fact that it's manual transmission.
I like the pass through,,makes more sense. The simple design…nice details. Would love this for more than a weekend.
This was what I ave been waiting for. A fully equipped camper for Taco. I would pay up to $60,000 for this.
If you think this is gonna cost $60k you’re dreaming
@@ljetzzl3255 and that is why it will never go into production! People are tired of having to pay so much for a weekend toy.
It’s amazing how large is the Taco fan base. Very cool rig!
The "Tacozilla" is in a class of its own. Not for everyone. For the serious andeventurer; not intimidated by a manual transmission! 😎 I love the idea..Alaska, British Columbia, off road knows no bounds kind of vehicle!
I was thinking, retirement plan.....best way to travel without driving a big trailer.
This build is amazing!!!
That color scheme i remember from when I was a kid. Really cool.
When I'm LIVIN' IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER, I want it to be this.
Is that the same Marty Schwerter that won all of the Baja races with Ivan Stewart? He is a legend in Mexico! I remember one year in Mexico, the crowds were yelling his name as he drove his Tacoma chase truck thru Ensenada. Viva Martini, Viva Martini. Congratulations on scoring this interview. We hope he comes back to visit someday. He is missed by the people of Baja!
That could be him! That’s crazy though I would have never thought about that
I certainly hope they will become available cause I’m 💯 going to get one!!!
It's awesome!, good to see Toyota bring back, he said chinook but, more like the Sunrader.
He's right it's perfect for a couple to get away in, it is very nice. For me, it's too nice, if
there is such thing, I fall into that category. However, is not an overlander, it's more of an
overroader. Nonetheless it is very nice.
wow just wow. ill never be able to afford to buy one but this the coolest yet
Thoughts? If you build it, they will come! I am so tired of other countries having the campers and RV's that I want that are so much better than ours! Also, of anything here worth buying there are year long waiting lists! Build it already!
Loved the energy of Marty . So excited to share with friends . I will book immediately if available commercially .
We wish!
I'll test it. I go into the Sierras every year since I was a kid. I owned a 1st generation and on my second generation yota now. Love to try this thing, I'd pay to try this thing.
Vector striping on semi and trucks is a fond nostalgic feeling
Fabulous. Thank you for using aluminum over steel. Looks top quality. Bravo
Beautiful build.
The only better than an interested interviewee is an interested interviewer. Marty was getting hyped!
Awesome truck! This is very reminiscent of the old 1985 Toyota Sunrader 4X4
Please do it Toyota!!!!! this thing catches the eye so well, and think of how many people out there live in campers!!! Imagine if this thing could tow a RV, it would be a hotel on wheels!!!!
This is incredible, I will definitely buy one!!!
Haha I love this 80s camping vibe, now put a 5th wheel hitch on a Tacoma, bring back the Sunrader 5th wheel camper
😂
Dude Marty kinda fan girl over tacoma beast. That's pretty cool
Yeah we were a lil shocked too 😂
They outdid themselves... their BTS footage of the build is worth a watch
Nice
Manual is definitely the way to go
Love it
WANT this for touring and recreational - this thing is awesome..
Yes, Toyota should absolutely make these 👍👍
I love this! The ultimate getaway truck for two!! I could totally see myself taking my son hunting or camping with this
Exactly 🔥
Something about the way Marty talks reminds me of Chris Farley, and it's definitely not a bad thing.
I live in a TacoZilla down by the river!
Very nice caravan..i like that..beautiful..thank you for sharing...👍👍👍
I would love to take that off the grid for 3 days. Fantastic build. Thanks for the great vidio.
That would be a cool trip!
You mean 30 days? :-)
My next car for sure!
Nice. Hopefully see these in a few years.Good desert ,beach and dirt road rig.Would put a pull out cover on that skylight to reduce daytime heat.Put duallies on it for stability and more sand flotation.Needs a front locker.Would cost around $130,000.
That sounds like the dream!
Now, Toyota, please build these for real! Chinook is still in business, collaborate. There would likely be a small market for these.
Nice interview compa 👍
What an amazing overland rig ! always great to see some tucks nice video !
I myself just went to rigs and coffee meet and saw some cool trucks and builds was very fun I am not pro but also tried to record a video lol and do an interview )
That sounds badass!
Maximum I’d pay is $80k but I’d prob buy it regardless. Super excited for this. Big move into my tiny home incoming when this beast lands
Good luck. Dealers wanting 50 or 60k for tacos these days it’s nuts
I'd pay 45k most
If you checked other available options on the market, this is easily going to cost over $100k.
LOVED IT, PLEASE MAKE IT TO THE PRODUCTION LINE
Marti is awesome guy.
Marti you and your company made a dream come true.
Closest I'll get to one is this video, nice rig though! On to the next video of things I'll never be able to afford but are amazing.
😂
WOW..NOW THAT i WOULD BUY. iT LOOKS ABOUT perfect.
We were thinking of getting a Tacoma for our second vehicle, given we already have a Tundra. But the Tacozilla, would be a game changer for us and we would buy it in a heartbeat. Please start manufacturing this most awesome camper.
If you liked this one you should check out our truckhouse video, it’s a similar concept but they’re actually producing it 🤙
I love outdoors this Tacozilla is a beast. I have owned a 2008 Tacoma sports trd and this truck has 280,000 miles on it still drive like the day I brought it new.
Hell yeah! 🔥
I love the retro toyota decals
I'd absolutely buy this.
I would BUY THSI SO BAD GOD I WANT IT! I love how totally psyched the interviewer sounds hahah. man, this is a beautiful machine. I could really get lost in it.
Wow!!! It's awesome!! I'd pay 85 or 90k and think I'd be buying a bargain
I like the retro 80's look.
I love it! Love it! Love it! Build it! I'll buy it!
Man I love this!!
Love it! I Would buy one
I'd 100% use this for napping in the parking lot over lunch.
😂
I absolutely love it. I’d buy it in a heartbeat
I doubt it.
Definitely my next dream car!
Nice San Diego Padre throwback colors!
Would definitely purchase but have a feeling it would be too far out of my price range.
Damn right I would buy it!
I love it.It would be my next car.
The Zilla is my dream camper!
Hard core fan girling rn!!!!! 😍😍😍
Aren’t we all? 😂😍
Of course produce it. Pricing.... ooofh that's where it would get ugly. All of the finishings definitely look luxury. Such a sweet build. Just needs a hitch on the back for a motorbike 🤙🏼
I can't wait to start seeing these bad boys on the road.
So sweet! The only criticism I have is that shower is taking up a ton of space and with a 9 gallon grey water tank, you had better shower quick. That’s maybe 2 very quick showers unless you dump your grey where you aren’t supposed to. A 40 gallon fresh and 20 gallon grey would have been sweet
Still going to need a suspension upgrade as well for the added gear and wet weight
Would absolutely buy this!
aw man. love this
Yes they should make this truck. I want one.
I like that classic vinyl color scheme .
Looks sick right?
@@tacomabeast Yes sir ! Where can I get those stickers at ? Know of site ?
If it was available, I think it would sell out with a waiting list for it Wish they could do something like this on the new Tundra 4x4 & I would definitely buy. Price consideration : Price of the Tacoma + $40-50K.
Hey dont give them ideas now a 15 to 20k increase sounds good to me
45k
I love it, hope they make one we can buy. Also want to see how it Handel's off road
Can you afford a $50k truck to begin with? These things have never been or meant to be affordable.
I'm not a Toyota fan but I'd for sure buy this thing and just saw it in Arlington at summer truckin nationals
Top notch Mateo! It was nice meeting you at Overland East. I would say that the TacoZilla would go starting at 80K up towards 100K. Would I buy one? Hell yeah!
Dmn i thought it was gonna be like 45k most
I wound definitely buy it. I love the concept and the design. I wonder if it can be made off grid too - solar powered.
Definitely interested
That is amazing! I’d be one of the first customers.
Awesome!! I wouldn’t buy it because the price tag on it would be super expensive. Guaranteed it won’t be less than 80-90k, more than likely if they ever mass produced this, it would run 150k. It is awesome!! But I am sticking to my Skoolie build and keeping my Taco on track to becoming a weekend overlander.
Priced at 29k to 39k from different articles I read
@@littin3671 On top of the base price of the Tacoma?
@@nicholasbarber8051 the Tacoma alone is like 30k so id imagine a 60k price point would seem reasonable but im no expert.
lol i just commented that same price before reading hyour comment. Exactly!
Would love a sub 100k price point.
Manual Transmission, ABSOLUTELY YESSSSS! My 2019 Taco is Manual, I wouldn’t have any other way. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. This is BEAUTIFUL and Toyota would sell plenty of units.
Don't worry about all of the seamless curves and distinct angles. Get the price point to $75k out the door. Outsource the construction from the line that bisects the spare. The 3rd party could offer custom tops including a popup style from the original Chinook.
I love it I would so buy one
You should definitely manufacture this. I so badly want to get away. I'm retired now and I want to see the world. I have a truck this size and I don't want to add a camper shell to it. My truck already has to many miles on it already. I want an all-in-one vehicle. PLEASE I NEED THIS!!!
This prototype needs to be shown at RV shows not just auto shows. RV'rs / campers are your target market and will give you feedback on needed features. Most people at an auto show don't have a clue what they are looking at.
That would be sick! This was Toyotas prototype so it probably will only be on auto shows 🥲
You're looking lean bro good work. The camper is pretty bad ass too!
Keto is putting in work!
