    Having problems with 13th and 14th gen Intel? Why not go back to 1st gen!

    I've got an i7 870 and have been trying to figure out what gpu to pair with it. Great video man!

      Thanks! I had this GTX 1650 that wasn't really going to be used in any builds. It's not a huge investment and still performs pretty well on a motherboard/CPU with PCIe 2.0 speeds.

      Get Intel ArC

    • @jonesthehobo
      @jonesthehobo Месяц назад

      @nishantbirari9300 I'm not gonna pair an intel arc card with a first gen i7. I'll only be getting like 20% of the performance out of that card

      @@jonesthehobo There are some lighter cards that Intel was offering that would pair alright. Though I am unsure about long term GPU support going forward after Intel's restructuring and losses following their 13th and 14th gen problems.

    Short answer: Prefectly fine for basic task, but for gaming Only if you play e sports, indle game and some older title. having lacks of AVX prevents it from launching the newer title

      True, I didn't mention that the Last of Us Pt 1 did not launch. Other videos with this CPU showcase that game, but it did not launch for me nor did I spend time trying to get it to launch. I would relate this to anyone wanting to use this setup.

    Nice build! I still use one (x3450 2.66 base clock, so it's an i7 860). It's overclocked to 3400Mhz and undervolted to 1.15v, with all power saving features enabled. This was the last fully unlocked generation, before the K cpus and before OC was removed from entry level mobos.

      Very cool, are you using as a daily driver of sorts or for some other purpose?

    You've obviously got good ventilation in that case, as the temps look fine. However, even to this day I cringe when I see an Intel stock cooler. In truth, they were fine back then for a Core 2 duo, but nothing else.

      Yes, the Intel stock cooler is essentially e-waste or only for use in systems for general use. Pretty well the same cooler since 2009.

      Yep, it would just depend on the motherboard you have.

      @@thinhtran9745 Yes to the games. As for the RAM, you'll just have to try it out. It seems like some information online leads to yes, however that is just anecdotal coming from me as I have never used the board myself.

      @@thinhtran9745 No problem. Specs on the motherboard have the RAM max at 16GB, but 32GB was far less common and it is very likely that 32GB was not tested with the board before launch. This is quite common. Ex: my ThinkPad T480s was specced at 24GB max on paper, but I have 40GB installed.
