Buying a PC second hand comes with its risks, there is the unknown of whether the PC fully functions correctly. In this case i purchased a budget custom $260 water cooled gaming PC and the gaming PC had a bunch of dirt, liquid and dust everywhere we do not know yet if we were scammed, however we will do our best to fix up this PC and deep clean it as best we can.

23:50 You did flash the bios, check all the jumpers/headers and confirm the CPU was compatible before you gave up on that old board?
When using pliers try using tape wrapping over the teeth of the pliers to keep from damaging the paint. I think you will be very happy with the results. The other recommendation I have for you is to try Even's Waterless Coolant, it's anti-corrosive, much higher boiling point, 40 below zero operation range. It's for Automotive cooling and it is rather pricey but for PC cooling it would be superb as you never have to change it. Hope that helps.

AM3 and older AMD cards are not worth the hassle. Beyond Minecraft, they are going to stumble through any modern titles you want to play.

where did you get your blower?
There is only meant to be enough thermal paste to fill the gaps between the rough surfaces of the CPU and the heatsink. This slather on loads of thermal paste attitude is totally wrong.

Man called that Gigabyte board "extra durable" when those boards were absolute trash. The heatsinks for the 990fx were not good enough so much that they re-made that board 3 times. It's anything but durable.

What was the original cpu?
I have an old r9-290x crossfire system with Fx 8350, 16GB, 2TB SSD.
AM3 and the r9 series are so old at this point. You would be limited to playing at 720p and still hardly get 60 FPS in most games today. You can play old games yeah. But you couldn't play any new ones. I would say just to recycle the CPU motherboard RAM and GPU. Then reuse the power supply and water cooling along with the case
(some/one) of those washers could've easily been lodged somewhere and shorted something out

Clr is too harsh that’s why the plating stripped. Don’t use that on anything reactive like nickel or copper.
The nickel was already stripped, we needed something strong like clr to remove the rust/corrosion, especially in the fins
for the scuff marks man put paper tape or masking tape the paper kind on your pliers's
So neglected. The washers are prob from the radiator.

When you say bleach what do you mean? I realize in different parts of the world people use different terms for things. I ask because bleach as I know it in the us is corrosive and will corrode aluminum.
$400 is insane, no SSDs included and tou threw away the cpu and board. The 290's arent worth $50 let alone $90, you can get 8GB RX580's with HDMI 2.0B for $80.

any old junked sandy bridge quad would murder it for 20$, i could get i5 6500 set for 50$ ffs if i want it to, but none of these makes any sense and these old hw is basically obsolete, any modern igpu from amd would be better overall and probably cheaper

I use Filmora to edit videos for my parents company. My mom is an underwater photographer but unfortunately our videos are quite low quality as many video editing softwares are quite expensive. Would love to win this one❤

To be honest, when I saw it was an AM3+ system, i wanted to stop watching, but when I saw this was being swapped to an Intel-based mainboard and CPU, I was so happy.
Yes, I'm a system builder and very against AMD's. They are like bottle rockets to me as they overheat and burn as quickly as they run.
