I sure love the broad shoulder look of this old kit, but I'm not sure I'll ever be at the power level to complete it in a way that would make me happy. I hope once we're done with the lanky rebuild evas we get some updated old style eva kits again.

This is the best PG Eva 01 I have ever found in RUclips, even the seam line is removed, and make it as same as new Movie Eva

This kit was released in 2006. The 1997 date is the copyright for the IP....
No, this was the first Perfect Grade kit, originally released in 1997. There was however a limited edition with coated parts, released in 2006.
@@rasmusolsen5930 Absolutely not. Many elements of this model, like the arm guards, the core, and various pieces of text do not exist in the TV show. This kit was released as promo material for the Rebuild series. It would be impossible for this kit to have been released in '97.
@@KevinJRussell If it was released for the Rebuild series, then why is it in the old colour-scheme, has the old wide-shouldered design, and features none of the Rebuild design changes? Or wait, do you think that the OP's paintjob is the original kit colours?
This was released in 1997, the same year as The End of Evangelion (EoE) was released, which is also depicted on the box art for this kit.
In EoE we saw Unit 01's core.
What text was not there back in 1997? The "EVA 1" on the shoulders could first be seen in chapter 2 of the manga, and the "-EVA 01 TEST-" on the forearms and the "1" on the back of the head were in chapter 3.
What's with them always giving Eva 01 Swords and stuff.

honestly all the work that went into this 20+ yrs old vintage "prototype" PG kit, in your opinion, is it really worth the money and the effort in 2021? compared with latest PG unleashed or Metal Build Evangelion Unit-01 or even with Kotobukiya EVA kits, technology of this kit is obviously outdated
That's kinda what the last 5 minutes of the video are. Sure the PG is really big and has lights, but it's not nearly as poseable or detailed as newer kits. You'll have to make a pros and cons list for yourself to decide if it's worth it.
for me this kit fell apart if i looked at it wrong, i hope your one lasts
