@@kacasio1 yeah I'm mostly playing, I follow a bunch of aging content creators who like to share their craft. There's a lot of specialized knowledge out there and a lot of bored retirees looking for someone to teach it to. I'm all for providing the tools to enable that endeavor.
IMO if your content is boring it's because you haven't yet figured out what you're meant to shoot. Everyone has at least a couple dozen good stories which beg to be told. The wisdom lies in figuring out which ones they are.

I've started to digitize all of my tapes too. I'm just using one of those really cheap USB analog capture cards to capture the image and my motherboard's analog input to record sound (no problems and better quality than my capture card) and it works pretty well. I setup the OBS and now I'm just digitizing the tapes in the background when I'm working on my PC.

I just got my first camera to make videos, it's an old Nikon D3100 with the kit lens and a 50mm 1.8, the battery door is a bit broken and the battery life sucks, it lasts 1 hour and needs around 3 hours to fully charge, but I'm saving money to get a new battery :)))

DZO has been around for a minute. Last year or the year before they dropped 2 cinema zooms for m43.
Maybe you can do a project/review of those video enhancers by machine learning, or AI, for those old vhs or betamax home videos... you can do a step-by-step guide, from setting up you vcr, desinterlacing that NTSC video feed all the way up to to up-scaling to FullHD or even 4k...
i bought my ClearClick Video2Digital converter after your first vlog featuring it, and it shipped with the latest firmware from 06/20. I had no issues whatsoever converting approx. 12 VHS tapes and 6 Digital8 tapes.

I've been digitizing VHSs from high school with the El Gato Video Capture. One unit has worked wonders. Don't buy these with a screen and processor of its own. You're asking for all these issues. The El Gato sends the signal straight from your VCR to your laptop/desktop and it does a screen capture of that with audio. Easy.
Dude your vids (both vlog channel and Potato Jet channel) are the warm and fuzzy parts of my week...such feel good.
