Gene, please research these organizations prior to donating to them. Some organizations use a huge percentage of the donations to support the marketing department and top executives with only a small amount going to the charity. There are a number of charity evaluation sites on line.
The marketing is very common and necessary because they need to continue to bring in more donations. A lot of people who don’t understand business and non profits get confused by this.
Hi Gene... my name is Victor Lopez from Queens, NYC. I follow you on both channels and loved that your donating on your Gene Nagata channel. I'm not asking for money only a shout out for people to volunteer at food pantries. My wife and I are involved with food pantry as volunteers. Right now they are in desperate need of volunteers to help pack and food distributors. We are all in this together and the more we help each other the easier it will be to get thru this stressful time. Feel free to get back to me or just put the word out there thru your channels. If you look thru my IG I'm the guy in the black shirt. Even if you don't reach out no worries... still love your work and channels. Say hi to Kari and the Crew and my condolences for Lefty. Stay safe!😷👍🏻 PS... I reached out on IG also.
I love watching your videos because you are real, down to earth, and seem to be a genuinely nice dude. It has nothing to do with the doggos or Carrie's hotness.
Kari is a prime example of the type of woman every man needs. She reminds me of my Wife. She has a great heart and a fantastic personality. Gene, when is the wedding?
no matter what your videos are about i watch them from start to finish and you had never made me regret my decision!! Good deeds will follow you around with good blessings!! Keep it up gene!
This is the only channel I let ads play on, I don't mind listening to a couple ads knowing that the extra adsense money is going to good causes. Good on ya, Gene!
If you're looking for another dog charity, "Promise for Paws" in Council Bluffs, Iowa is a great one. They take in Senior dogs and give them a home-like life until they pass. It's all volunteer and donation based. Great folks. I use my amazon smile account for them.
Gene I see you pullin' around in that Performance Model 3 ;) -- thanks for this video! As a growing content creator myself it's great to get a better understanding of how RUclips pays. Also, love your camera guides -- I recently bought a Canon M50
What's up Gene, really love your channels. I'd really like to see one on landing clients and tips for creating/managing a showreel Good luck with the move!
Good choice on your t-shirt at 4:42. Shoutout from T.O.! Keep up the good work. I like the vlogging switch, bringing your "crew" and dog pack to the videos.
Great job Gene! I hope to be able to donate some RUclips earnings someday but I bought your Sony LUTs so I feel my payment went to help to your donations in this video in a weird kind of way!
I spotted you on one of the end credit scenes on Community. You were watching the video yearbook Abed made. Top notch acting, I actually believed you were watching the video. Bravo.
I was wanting a Super73 to commute to and from work and my gf's house afterwards buuuut our office is closed and my department is being closed for good so maybe next job I'll contribute to the Super73 fund Gene & Kari!! Much love from Winnipeg Manitoba!
I post filmmaking and editing tutorials every week. I started my RUclips channel 4 months ago. I just hit 500 subscribers. I’m hoping I get to do it full time in the near future. Thanks for the inspiration Gene! I’ve been watching you from the beginning and finally decided to try it out myself. 🎥🎬
I would have spent way too much at your yard sale! Hard drives? Purchased! Cameras? Throw em in the back of my car! The RUclips advice is appreciated, doing RUclips and having like 2 views is discouraging, but I have fun drinking a beer during mine, so it works out!
@@martin.larsson1972 I most certainly have not quit mine! But it gives me a great creative outlet, and I get to mess with my video stuff. Its the same feeling I get when I was young making dumb vids, but now it's easier because I don't have to splice together a couple of VCRs to do editing.
Me and my son have a channel where we do movies, vlogs, skits, and roller coaster content. We’re not monetized and are a long way but we’ve gained subs and views and what I’d say is be consistent putting out content, create titles and thumbnails that attract attention, and don’t make your videos too long at first. That’s my only advice. (And no this account isn’t the channel I’m talking about)
Check out the recommended videos sidebar at the 7 minute mark. Gene makes videos about camera stuff, but he only watches RUclips videos about Teslas :D
FYI make sure you are keeping track of how much and what charities your giving all this money to so you don’t get hit with all the taxes on this income. Great job and love the videos.
30 seconds into the video and here's a fun fact. My channel started with me going to yard sales and buying hard drives. Then I would find data on them even if they were wiped and show people how easy it is to steal someones identity from hard drives.. Just a FYI :) Never sell hard drives. ALWAYS DESTROY HARD DRIVES
1. I'm thinking this video will do well and make more money to... 2. ...Help you donate to some more charities. Well played. Awesome concept. I love it!
I'm always interested in the tax consequences of donations done on RUclips. Whether as sponsored giveaways or giving away AdSense earnings. Direct earning give aways seems simple enough. You still owe taxes on those dollars earned - even if you give it away, whether you claim it as charity donations is another matter but even if one were to it never usually totally negates the taxes owed on it. Sponsored give aways seem more complicated. If the sponsor gives it directly to you then you would still owe taxes on it - even if its non-cash earnings because it has worth. Guess good idea would be have a great tax accountant that is well versed in social media earnings.
You guys are so fun and great people. This covid situation is pretty lonely. Seeing your
updates feels like making a new friend in a crisis.
It was so nice of you to donate money to charity. I wish more people are like this.
Gene, please research these organizations prior to donating to them. Some organizations use a huge percentage of the donations to support the marketing department and top executives with only a small amount going to the charity. There are a number of charity evaluation sites on line.
The covid was the only questionable one. All the others are well known.
Yeah that Covid one seemed shady for some reason.
The marketing is very common and necessary because they need to continue to bring in more donations. A lot of people who don’t understand business and non profits get confused by this.
Love your work mate! Big fan, you are a LEGEND 👍
Thanks for sharing this man, no wonder youtube has become a full time job for so many...
This video and your donations make me so happy. I would love to be in a position to donate and help others one day.
You two are adorable. I enjoy your videos. Thank you for all you do for COVID.

Selling old hard drives...
Living on the edge of cyber security, Gene!
OLD HARD DRIVES ---> M I C R O W A V E
Erase everything on them
Use all the avaible space on the hard drive for copies of the bee mobie script
Erase all data
Profit
@@idont3282 Should be the UP script. lol.
Yeah, I would never sell any of my old hard drives or my old cell phones.
I love watching your videos because you are real, down to earth, and seem to be a genuinely nice dude. It has nothing to do with the doggos or Carrie's hotness.
Good luck on your move! Must be nice getting out of the Valley. And thanks for the awesome donations you guys contribute too!

Kari is a prime example of the type of woman every man needs. She reminds me of my Wife. She has a great heart and a fantastic personality. Gene, when is the wedding?
Nice work, Gene. Sharing your blessings will get you 10 folds in the future. Keep it up!
Gene, you should do a short movie of memories before the move then have the new place at the end like a surprise
Inspiring that you're donating your RUclips earnings to the needy!

16 months and knocking on 700 subs had me excited until..... Congratulations Gene. You’re a class act.

Am so happy for what you're doing with the channel. Go Gene!! The Tesla Video was so unique.
This is the only channel I let ads play on, I don't mind listening to a couple ads knowing that the extra adsense money is going to good causes. Good on ya, Gene!
You're the man! Super cool of you to be donating income from RUclips :)
Love your hustle.
Speaking of revenue streams... Potato Jet merch would be super dope! Of course, Disney probably already sells shirts from Up.
If you're looking for another dog charity, "Promise for Paws" in Council Bluffs, Iowa is a great one. They take in Senior dogs and give them a home-like life until they pass. It's all volunteer and donation based. Great folks. I use my amazon smile account for them.
I really enjoy the openness of your 2nd channel.

You are awesome my friend
I feel like watching the ads everytime after watching it
Thank you for explaining and sharing your YT Earnings

Whoop! Good to know that my binge watching your channel this week made about $0.2 for charity. 🙈
dang that dog training np is awesome!
I would have spent way too much at your yard sale! Hard drives? Purchased! Cameras? Throw em in the back of my car!
The RUclips advice is appreciated, doing RUclips and having like 2 views is discouraging, but I have fun drinking a beer during mine, so it works out!

*love this channel. I think I prefer it to Potato Jet (weird huh?)*

Consistency is the name of the game. Wise words my friend wise words.
One of the only channels I turn off Adblock for. Keep making great content 👍
Congrats 🎉
I got to meet some of these inmates! I worked at CDCR for a year and shot a video with them.
I'm gonna start watching the ads on your channel now

I've watched the entire Tesla video, I don't own one nor I'm close to buying one. Still found it interesting
Me to.. 😁✌️

I sit through all the ads on this channel just because of this.
Gene at 69k what a man
