They try to "sciencify" their beliefs by using terms like "thermal ionization" without bothering to learn what it means.

As a christian I would admit, that the concept of God not existing is very frightening to me. But as a person, who is interested in science and tries to get a better understanding about this world, I would admit that I like this channel and I am subscriber.

Congratulations! It's a step. Just keep following honesty and good academia the fears will work themselves out little by little. I admit even though I never looked back when I left the church I still catch myself caring about some christian concept, it's deep rooted so it can take time.

I used to be a Christian as well but my search has lead me to being an Agnostic Atheist. Dealing with the problems you may find in your own beliefs can be very hard or as you said "frightening". The truth doesn't need to be feared though, the only thing which needs fear to survive is falsity.
@@ajclements4627 By frightening I meant from philosophical perspective. One of the basis of christianity or any other religion is the concept of life after death. So you can imagine for a religious person that this could be frightening. Why? There is no God, and a person just dies, and then there is nothing. That's what I meant.

Every time I read the Bible I saw more and more flaws, inconsistencies, outright lies and absolute nonsense. I’d feel sorry for those who believe that rubbish but they are causing too much harm to people and societies and the world to forgive.
It’s frightening that so many people still believe Wyatt’s claims, but then again, not all that surprising, considering that religious fundamentalists are more likely to believe in fake news than any other group of people.

In Junior HS I was given a laminated "degree" that certified I was a "Doctor of Rockology" after going on a class field trip to collect trilobite fossils in limestone. No, the chariots weren't made entirely of wood. And yes, wood can be preserved when buried in mud or submerged in fresh or brackish water.
And it was a multinational team of archeologists that found the evidence of a battle in a tidal lagoon. Whoever the Egyptians were chasing, they led the chariots through the lagoon, where the chariots became stuck in the mud. The Egyptians were then peppered with arrows by their quarry.

And the chariots were in pieces, large enough to identify even though they were incomplete.
The marshy lagoon area is a bit west of the Red Sea, in northern Egypt. The Hebrews would've then moved northeast, around the northern tip of the Red Sea and out of Egypt.
And it most certainly wasn't a biblical group that funded the dig, as this evidence points to the bible having exaggerated the story of Moses and the Exodus.

What I like most about the Sodom and Gomorrah story is why they supposedly got distroyed in the first place.
According to the little christian book of fairy tales, it was because the people weren't kind to foreigners, the poor. the elderly, etc. I.e., not liberal enough.

The beginning of the story specifically states what the people of Sodom and Gomorrah are doing that God dislikes. Homosexuality isn't mentioned.
@@HatstandTuesday Well angels are spiritual beings. Gender does not apply to non biological entities. But nonetheless just like God the Father, the Holy Spirit are referred to masculine pronouns. They also take form of men just as the case of Lot and Sodom & gomorrah.
The men of Sodom wanted the angels who as I said had taken human form. Lot refused and offered his daughters and then threatened to rape Lot if he doesnt't comply. Justification was because he was a foreigner plus the angels in human form. But then again just from that we see homosexual tendencies within the populace. If they were hetero they would have taken Lots offer, but even if that would have happened, the angels would still have blinded them. Since they mission was to save Lot and family. Homosexuality plus other sexual sins, mixed with inhospitality to foreigners(a primary sin/love thy neighbor), pride (another primary sin) and indifference to the needy etc was their downfall.

Any time a civilization/settlement/kingdom becomes evil to a point God can't tolerate it any longer He destroys or punishes it directly or indirectly and even ancient Israel was not exempt from this rule. I was duped by Chariots of the Gods and similar ideas in the 1970's as a teenager. I'm not sure exactly how long it was before I found stories debunking it. I was really pissed and vowed not to get suckered again. Ron Wyatt seems to be just as bad. I would love to see more content analyzing Ron Wyatt. I hate these idiots.

I got duped too. By a report of finding the Red Sea crossing that was super popular at church. I'm embarrassed now that I lapped it up. Super embarrassed because I'm a history nerd. I have learned so much more about history since I put down the Bible (including exactly how inaccurate the Bible is).
I loved reading Chariots of the Gods in school! Even though it turned out not to be true. I still appreciate it for opening my eyes to possibly. Always followed up by actual facts, of course.
With all fairness, ancient aliens shaping human history is far more likely than anything Wyatt promoted.
when i was younger, i believed in all of that stuff, that we'd been visited by aliens, ghosts, even the bible. but as i got older and learned about all of the different gods throughout history, and not just that but the actions and inaction taken by gods, i realized it was all bull.
but reading chariots of the gods really opened my eyes to how stupid teh entire idea of ancient aliens really is. for one it reads like it was written by a junior high student, but there is no actual evidence presented, just like in the tv shows. people with a presupposed idea look at something or even pictures of something, and say, this looks like what i want it to look like. and disregard all other evidence.
I used to be a Christian, until my early adulthood, I struggled through
my teen years, wanting to be more scientific minded yet being to fearful
of eternal damnation, ultimately it took going to war, feeling guilt
and fear over the lives i have taken, the events witnessed etc to
finally get over that fear, I have never been more free or happy than I

I got to hand it to you guys, being able to do what you do without losing your cool. I've tried myself but lose my cool quick despite the fact that i understand that system takes full control of your mind that simple and practical points that disprove it beyond any doubt has no effect. 2 years ago i was one of those guys defending all this nonsense and i feel really lucky that i was able to break out of that somehow.

As for the daughters in the story well no one cared about giving them names as they weren't the heroes or important to the story.. also lets not forget the two that Lot impregnated in the story either... talk about just nasty. but then again, the moral of the bible right lol. Anyway, so far every location that has been thrown up by bible scholars as being either of these cities has all been debunked.
Ron Wyatt also found Christ's Foreskin, complete with Smegma still attached, at the back of his fridge. The skin had a distinct "Streaky" appearance, which was due to Christ's transformation from Middle Eastern to White Guy. The Cheesy Smell of the Smegma was undeniable.

Enki wasn’t too pleased when he discovered Enlil planned to wipe out the race he’d created.So he took it upon himself to warn Utnapishtim. He told Utnapishtim to construct an Ark, Utnapishtim was commanded to load the Ark up with animals. Together with his wife, he preserved life on earth when the flood was unleashed.After the waters began to recede, he released the animals to repopulate the planet. As Enlil eventually got over his outrage and granted immortality to Utnapishtim and his wife.

You know the funny thing about that... I didn't feel like animating that, so I just cut out his head from a photo in photoshop, made his mouth a separate layer, popped a green screen behind it, and then dragged the mouth open and shut while I did a screen record. 😆
I've never seen anyone "animate" like that before, but it worked for this shot, so hey. 🤷♂️

Every five years or so someone "discovers Noah's Ark" and Fox News reports on it like it was.......news. Big lulz
Noah's ark has been found SO many times. And every time it's later shown to be some natural formation. Like all those boat-shaped things on the sides of mountains ... that are natural rock formations caused by water erosion (most commonly snow melt).
Yeah, that & the tomb of Jesus. What pisses me off, remembering being in a church that took this stuff seriously-- they will have people come on odd days to watch documentaries & reports on this "biblical find" for weeks, then when it turns out that it was either entirely unrelated to what they thought it was, or fabricated, they suddenly never speak of it again, forgetting to mention as much to their parishioners, leading entire generations of kids to grow up in the church thinking it was real, only to be incredibly confused the next time they've found the thing.
As to Sodom & Gamorrah, I think there was a specific wierd site in the Holy Land which is not man made at all, but has always been thought of by locals as the remnants of the city. It's a stony field near the Dead Sea with odd chemistry, so under the heat of the sun, fires start underground all the time & cause the rocks to explode, carving them into odd shapes which are interpreted as people & houses. That tends to be enough for many Christians to say that's what it is, but not enough for those Creationists still looking for the damned thing, I guess.
Generally speaking, mythologies often tend to refer to real places or spring up around odd places, it's just those of European descent lost all of that from their own cultures, destroyed most of what was related to Native cultures & have little familiarity with the lay of the land in the region all their mythology is from. Personally, I think the Iram story may have mixed with some local Canaanite stories to create Sodom & Gamorrah, as it is in the bible. But, those people are not going to just accept that a piece of common mythology is part of their history book.
Noah's story, I have 2 concerns with. 1st, where did all that water came from? 2nd, where did it all go?

ugh, I showed my mom a pretty picture of the salt pillars near the dead sea, and told her: "Yeh, that was the inspiration for the Sodom story." , and my mom was: "But that was probably Sodom and Gomorrah!"
Same thing when I told her why I found the Slow Worm snake interesting. Ex girlfriend of mine while we were dating (around 2014) actually used Ron Wyatt's wagon wheel in the red sea as an attempt convince me that christianity was true. I asked what was more likely, god exists and parted the red sea, or a wagon wheel falls off a boat. She broke up with me like a month later saying that I was too "into science" and shit like that. Year or two later she was a pagan.
