  • This video might just be an atheist's worst nightmare. Scientists have uncovered what seems like the mind of God, and the evidence presented is almost undeniable. You're about to witness how the invisible intertwines with the visible. The concept of "as above, so below" will gain profound clarity after watching this. All I ask is for your patience and to stay with us until the end, as everything will gradually come together and make complete sense. However, I must warn you: this video may transform you into a believer in God, so if you're not open to changing your beliefs, you might want to stop watching now (just kidding!). Let's get started!

Z keep small.. you need just the Word of God to not attract but repell demons and to not love the creation before the creator.. (Matt 7:13 [KJV])
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
      (Matt 7:14 [KJV])
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
      (1John 2:15 [KJV])
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
      (1John 2:16 [KJV])
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
      (1John 2:17 [KJV])
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
      (1John 2:18 [KJV])
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
      (Matt 24:24 [KJV])
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
      (Jer 10:1 [KJV])
Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
      (Jer 10:2 [KJV])
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
      (Jer 10:3 [KJV])
For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
      (Jer 10:4 [KJV])
They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
      (Jer 10:5 [KJV])
They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
      (Jer 10:6 [KJV])
Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
      (Jer 10:7 [KJV])
Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
      (Jer 10:8 [KJV])
But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.
      (Jer 10:9 [KJV])
Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men.
      (Jer 10:10 [KJV])
But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

A thought from me: Like you said the fractal pattern is conceptual, it doesn't exist in a physical medium. By showing it to us you make it physical... in your case applying colors to points, which are displayed as pixels on a screen, going down to the resolution of the video or monitor it's on. So then we can imagine nature does the same thing using a different medium, in its case 3D fractals printed into atoms or cells the size of which are implicitly the highest resolution, with different values translated as various cells or materials.

The skeptic in me says: These are just a bunch of patterns with a similar shape. Similar to how the fibonnaci sequence relates to the golden ratio, but if you take a closer look it doesn't quite add up in our physical world. I'd argue there is imperfection in our world, it just looks similar enough for us to make comparisons.
Humans are pretty good in finding patterns, but many times because of a certain bias, e.g. the face on Mars, which only makes sense for us because that is our strong bias seeing faces in things. Isn't it just logical to find patterns in an equation that kind of match other patterns in our world?
Math is a language in which some things literally don't add up. For instance, if we devide 1 by 3, we get 0.33‾. If we multiply it by 3 we get 0.99‾, which we can all agree on is not the same value we started with. We have to use another way of writing it altogether for it to add up again (like 1/3 * 3).
We found some more or less interesting (but as of now useless) patterns, that's cool. Can we draw better conclusions than "it's the mind of god" and not go full hyperbole? I like the topic, but I dislike how easy the "it must be god" thing is being pulled. Just my 2 cents.

I'll try. They aren't looking at the idea of the Mandelbrot set as being a representation of God itself. But by finding this information that exists in the world of math beyond both of our understanding, you see the picture God painted for you to find, knowing only God could have painted it, therefore proving the existence of God within the abstract. Your minds ability to conceptualize these ideas is what it means to be made in the image of God. An animal couldn't read this in the first place. What is it that puts our understanding above an animal, when we limit test reality, we usually find depictions of God at the end of the information we collect.

    • @lenni-hazels
      @lenni-hazels 6 месяцев назад

@@Mark-td1ne Agree to disagree. For once recognizing patterns is not unique to humans. Just because we are a bit better to learn and apply more abstract thinking doesn't mean we have to draw the conclusion it must have been put there by god for us to find it (like some kind of paper chase). This is typical self-centric and foolish thinking in my mind. You (or anyone else) seeing a proof of god in this has more to do with yourself than with the actual nature out there. Math is a human-made tool. Doesn't mean it is free from the laws or aspects of nature. I guess if you replaced the word god with nature altogether it would make more sense to me. So the light hits the object and the object shares the difference through entanglement and sharing the light bounces off changed and hits our eye. Our eyes have cones and rods so the cone, i think, has the chemical and when a piece of the light hits it the light makes the chemical release and cause change in the nervous system. The light isn’t fully absorbed but a different left behind and connected kinda like food. A portion. That portion changes the neurons and they share the differences between to reflect the image through chemicals and electric signals. It’s a system itself but connected to the whole. As we integrate the differences they reflect in the system not fully there. The differences caused by reflection can cause the whole system to reflect or us as a system to reflect the image through motion and move to get out of the rain. Like the cycle of integration and reflection can allow differences to emerge not only in the mind but outside through our actions. We are not separated from reality. The unreal is just unfound. Only fat gets used when needed and we keep the brain cells. Well i mean we can lose them if we don’t use them. Disintegration and reduction. So expand or disintegrate reality. That’s kinda confusing but i read it out loud and slow to myself as well and it made sense. What i mean is that we can measure the differences and expand and share just like qm and evolution and the planets and the universe. We integrate some differences and share within and reflect out, the out then gets used and integrated by others and they expand and continue to expand reality showing there is no unreal, just differences that haven’t been expanded and integrated.
Like how my identity isn’t different from yours as much as you think because we are so close in reality. The other versions are just so far away between what is real currently. There are other ways to become you like memory transfer but we also see that far off thing that is a being that lives all these lives. It’s not current but we can find the paths to revealing such a thing. Like cloning and genetically growing the brain to match the memories of a model on a computer. Maybe neuralink. _"What if there was a message inside numbers? What would that imply?"_
I suppose it depends on the message. Are you going to tell us?
_"It would tell us something about the intelligence of the person who made numbers."_
Maybe? I doubt if any one single person "made numbers," though. It was likely lots and lots of us, wasn't it? But again, let's hear the message.
_"As a matter of fact, there is a secret code built into numbers"_
*Evidence?* So far, all I'm hearing are vague claims.
_"the Mandelbrot set includes not only real numbers, but also complex and imaginary numbers"_
    OK. So what?
_"The Mandelbrot set provides a window into understanding infinity, hinting at the vastness of God's mind"_
*What?* What does a god have to do with _any_ of this? Heck, how do your pretty pictures even help you in "understanding infinity"? You made a huge leap there, followed by an even _bigger_ leap.
_"The concept of the Mandelbrot set suggests a mind that is truly infinite, capable of infinite complexity and thought"_
No, it doesn't. How in the world can you imagine _that?_ So far, nothing you've demonstrated suggests a mind _at all,_ unless you mean the human minds who are imagining this stuff.
_"a glimpse into the mind of God"_
Nope. More like a glimpse into the mind of the faith-based.
_"a reflection of the mind of God"_
*Evidence?* Just *one* piece of good evidence, specific enough and in enough detail that I can judge it for myself?
This seems to be all about "Look at the pretty pictures. Must be the god I was taught to believe as a baby." Maybe this isn't the absolute _worst_ argument I've ever heard from theists, because I've heard some very silly stuff, but it's far from good.

The huge drawback of this video is that the presenters assume that the God of Christianity is the only God. There are religions that reject the God of the Bible, the God of Jews, and the God of Christians. Other religions see God in a different light. They accept that God created mathematics and all sciences, but not necessarily the God of a particular religion. Deists for instance accept Nature's God while at the same time rejecting the God of all revealed religions.

"Other gods" who would be deemed conceptual could not have orchestrated the things on this planet that are so intricate, so perfect, and so beautiful. The God of the Bible, the one who is the creator of all things, including you and I, is the only one who could have created such a perfect existence for human kind. There has to be a creator for there to be a creation. The foods that God created is not just food, but also medicine to heal us. Science has proven over and over again that certain foods affect certain parts of our bodies. How can a made up fictional god do any of that? Religion is present because of man's need for a governing body that is not imposed but intended to be allowed to be chosen by the individual for the most part. For all practical purposes it is in place as a means of structure and control with the intention of serving as a moral guide to the people, a common grounds established for people with similar beliefs to gather and be in fellowship with those of compatible faith, and means of accountability and penance for those that are in need of spiritual healing.... Religions soul purpose should be ass means to beat reflection of what is good and righteous, promoting love and kindness, for the well-being of all of creation, not for control or financial gain or a elaborate cover up for evil guided intentions and actions that inflict harm or distress on any person, those are the abominations that have caused all religions to have a bad name and fall short of representing God and undermine the entire concept of religion. How does nobody see that the idea of religion has been tainted thru the misuse of authority and abuse of power is the problem with all religions and why none of them really fully honor any higher power. The leaders and members of each fail to achieve a proper representation of the purpose of any religion as they attempt to claim the authority they hold as a position endorsed by the 'god' they choose to worship, failing to set and live by the only real rule there needs to be (if you don't know what that is you are also mislead... It's about how to love: God, yourself, and all others; equally.) Anything against that is clearly not any humans purpose on this earth. Harm none, but do all the good you can in all the ways you can in all the times you can, if we all held that as a standard everyone would prosper and be safe and truly free.
The controling organizations that are in place misguiding the masses is all that is creating separation between various religions, ideas of hate, and the completely unnecessary need for control\money\war aka greed\fear and "power" making all that effort completely self serving and contradictory to any idea of love or humanity, preventing all religions from ever actually being righteous or truly serving the Lord.

Theoretically it would be impossible for anyone to explain god to humans as it is literally impossible to comprehend that, which means that what jesus told the disciples is most likely not what god did, as what god does is indescribable.

Why does the universe obey math: because math is what we figured out is the easiest way to quantify how the universe is built, and how to communicate that with symbols. This isn't genius territory, Billy Ray Universe didn't walk up and see a text book and think "OH Duuuh! MATH!" and reorganize itself. It's what we're using to describe the universe, so it would be messed up if the universe *didn't follow those organizing principles. Chaos doesn't persist in perpetuity, only until the easiest pattern is fallen into and the outliers from the pattern are destroyed or join it. Sort of like how crystals are formed. That's why there are certain patterns which repeat consistently: the best way to do a thing is what survives.

I see these type of arguements once in a while. They always argue that something so complex MUST be god. But id like to disagree.
'God is just a product of the human imagination'
    -Paul Dirac.
That statement is entirely true. For instance, if we take the creation of computers, very complex machines, there seems to be a creator:us. Take something like AI or quantum computers there is a creator to something this complex:us. This is basically the human imagination. Something complex should have a creator, right? Well, no. God is a very complex being according to many theologies. But did he have a creator? The answer i get is no. So then how did something so complex come into existence? They say "He is self existent". Well when something like god, a very complex qnd powerful being can be self existent, why dont you try to think that the universe could be self existent too? Cant the singularity of the big bang be self existent? It is but a singularity compared to your all-powerful creator. And humans are good at finding patterns. They are also easily amazed by what they see. Imo, god is just a confidence-boosting imaginary friend. You want to have one of them? Sure, go ahead, bht dont tell me that i should have one too cuz theres is a pattern in numbers. See science cannot answer everything. Nothing can. But god explqins NOTHING. The concept of god is to pretend that he explains everything. For all the theists, i'll ask a question. "Why did god create humans, or even life?". Well, he had no reason to. He MUST have had no reason to do that cuz if he did have a reason then that reason is superior to him. If your answer is "to worship him", think abt this: an all powerful being created life with feelings and emotions just so that the life would worship it? Now that sounds a little off doesn't it? I tell you again science cannot explain everything. Nothing can. But god explains ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

    (1) 7:42 _"The concept of the Mandelbrot set suggests a mind that is truly infinite."_ How so?
    (2) 15:51 _"The naturalist has the dilemma because, on the one hand, he knows that mathematics requires a mind, but on the other hand, he knows that mathematics exists before human minds."_ This is a false statement. The first half is true- _any_ "concept," by definition, requires a mind to be a concept.. Atheists are monists, and believe the mind is biochemical processes within the physical brain; Christians are dualists and believe that the mind and the body are independent of each other. As an atheist, I do not claim to "know" or even believe that mathematics existed before human minds. Is it possible there are intelligent species, somewhere in the universe, who have conceptualized the idea of mathematics? Sure. I don't have any evidence for any intelligent beings like this, just like I don't have any evidence for a god.
    (3) 17:24 _"How is it that things that conceptual things that exist only in the mind also occur in the physical universe?"_ This is a contradiction; if something exists in the mind and in the physical universe, it does not exist only in the mind. I can conceptualize myself eating a sandwich and I can eat a sandwich in the physical universe. Not sure what the purpose of his argument is here.
    (4) 18:57 _"Why does the physical universe obey mathematical laws?"_ It sounds like he's personifying the physical universe. The physical universe doesn't have a mind to obey the laws of mathematics. The universe, and the laws that govern it, simply _exists_. That said, I foresee Christians mentioning Exodus 3:1-15, where God is described as "The Great I Am." That's exactly what the universe is- it just _exists_, uncaused, eternally. If you believe that the universe is too complex to exist, uncaused, then why don't you apply that same reasoning to a god, who would need to be _more_ complex that the natural universe to have created it?

It was the invention of the main frame computers in the 1970's that were able to display, impressive geometric patterns which could be recreated on the screen. A real translation of the equation should look like this: addition+multiplicationxmillionxmillion shows its complexity. What spoils this video is the need to turn this into a man on the street shouting out the importance for all of us to be saved by god, when all I wanted was to buy a fractal t-shirt. Early human scientists needed a simple way to comprehend the incomprehensible and created numbers to do that. After observing the most fundamental laws of the universe, people were able to theorize about new laws based on things they knew were true. The ultimate downfall of this argument is the assumption that mathematics and its application to reality requires a mind to exist. This is a fallacy that has no previous foundation in fundamental existence. When we die, the world continues to exist, so we have no right to assume it would stop existing without something or someone to experience it. This argument also takes enormous leaps that are prejudicely "Christain" as opposed to other religions. Religion itself is the ultimate manifestation of humanity's egocentric nature, because in order to justify our reality, we must construct a mindset based on principles of reality which we are entirely unsure of in the first place. We pile assumption on top of assumption, because nothing is truly fact in a world where we are given no base and no truth to start from. All we know is that we exist, because we are asking the question "Why do I exist?" Well here's the answer. There isn't one. You were never meant to be here. This video simply takes the idea of "nature" and demands that a supernatural mind must have created it.
It is completely ridiculous to think that nature requires a supernatural origin.
The reason mathematics is inherent in nature is because we have developed mathematics to try to explore nature.
Nature does not follow the laws of mathematics. Mathematics follows the observations of what we see in nature.
When we discover new properties in nature, we alter mathematics and create new mathematics to help us to understand those new discoveries. Nature is nature and nothing more or less. We don't need supernatural dogma to help us understand it, we just need to use our minds to model new ways of thinking about it.
When we cloud our understanding of nature with supernatural and superstitious ideas we get unreliable story-telling religion.
When we base our understanding on measurable, repeatable, learnable -- and changeable -- as we will no doubt always be changing how much we know about nature -- then we have a scientific process that is reliable.
Saying that naturalists will never understand nature because we don't believe that nature has a mind, like we do, like god ostensibly does, is just pure egocentrism. Nature doesn't need a mind, because nobody created nature from their mind. It simply is, because it is. It doesn't need to be conflated with psuedo-historical ethnic folklore like "jesus" or "krishna" or "thor" to be suitably profound. It's just nature, and nature is naturally profound. No superstition needed.

I get it, some people would choose death over incarceration.
Fractals do not exist by accident, they are obvious evidence of a coded design... Call it nature if you want. And that code and design have an origin and that origin is GOD... whatever and whoever, that God is.

@thomasokelly8667 That's a beautiful idea. But it's evidence and not beauty that makes an idea trustworthy. Beautiful ideas can be foolish.
Intelligent entities are one thing. Thousands of them have been postulated, and yet most cultures are willing to commit atrocities to espouse their own particular and unique set of anthropomorphic myths.
Sometimes the most beautiful and loving ideas can be perverted into an excuse to harm those who are skeptical.
If you expect to live in a world with other people and to be kind and compassionate with them, you will respect the kind of measurable evidence that can be demonstrated and taught and measured and verified, falsified, and rectified to match the most reliable evidence that is available to anyone and everyone of any and all cultures and heritage.
It is okay to say "I don't know".
Is there an intelligence that controls the universe?
      I don't know.
If there is, I suspect it doesn't want to communicate with us. Maybe it's hiding, or maybe that's not how you might define intelligence? I don't know.
I don't see much evidence for anything resembling any mainstream religions.
      Your milage may vary.
But to insist that particular kind of invisible or enigmatic authority is in charge of how we live our lives is foolish at best, and completely maliciously evil at worst.
I'd prefer to say "I don't know. I don't see much evidence to begin changing my lifestyle or insisting on a lifestyle change for others" than to be that other kind of guy.
      How about you?

    • @JacobHolcomb
      @JacobHolcomb 3 месяца назад

It seems to me that if every time we see something incredible and greater than our understanding, we assume that is evidence for some kind of profound supernatural break in reality -- for what is "supernatural" beyond a great break from normal nature -- if we immediately make that kind of assumption, and don't just admit that maybe we just don't know right now, but it would be worth looking into...
That's a fairly foolish way to look at the world. Becoming transfixed with laziness and a lack of curiosity to discover through further examination the natural processes that we, perhaps don't understand. And perhaps we never will. But that's no reason to relegate them to "unnatural" if doing so allows us to just accept them on "faith" and no longer seek to further inquire.
All too often people want to see something profound and use it as excuse to believe ridiculous things, things that other people might not believe, and that might cause anger and conflict, and to use that profound mystery as a lazy excuse to argue on behalf of their own unexamined beliefs in order to win the argument and compel others to believe how they believe and behave how they behave. Why?
Because MYSTERY is hard to explain, it must be proof of supernatural gobbledygook!

@@JacobHolcomb believing in a Higher Power or a Creator does not make one lazy or not want to inquire, It’s the opposite because people believed in a creator is why modern science was born.
It was Christians that laid the foundations of modern science.
It turns out that most of the fathers of modern science-you know, the guys with laws named after them-were Christians.
The Christian convictions of the founders of modern science led to the birth of modern science because these Christians saw the world in a very particular way. Firstly, they believed there was an orderly creation because there is a God of order who made it.
To do science you need smart people using their rational minds to study the world. Where did rational minds come from? A rational God. They were convinced they were “thinking God’s thoughts after him” (Kepler said that). So, not only is the world governed by rational laws, we can discover the world’s rational laws with our rational minds.
They believed that studying the acts of creation was actually an act of worship. Kepler wrote, “I had the intention of becoming a theologian...but now see how God is, by my endeavors, also glorified in astronomy.”
Francis Bacon, developed the scientific method, he was a Christian.
Johannes Kepler, discovered the laws of planetary motion, a committed Christian.
Galileo, the scientist who convinced the world that the sun is the center of the solar system, not the earth, a Bible-believing Christian.
Robert Boyle, he founded modern chemistry. Yep, also a Christian. And Gregor Mendel, he monkeyed around with pea plants and founded genetics he was a monk, for goodness sake. And what about Louis Pasteur? You got it, a Christian.
      Lord Kelvin, Christian
So there you have it all men of faith whom believed in a creator/God
And because of it were curious about the creation.
      1 Corinthians 3:18
Whoever thinks they are wise in this world should become a fool. That's the only way they can be wise.

Math is a representation of the physical world internalized conceptually, according to experience of the real world. The number, "3", for instance, developed organically from our experience of the physical world. Math as a rules-based system developed from such fundamental beginnings. "Fractals" are a product of mathematical processes, specifically, "recursion", where the result of one calculation is used in a later iteration of the same calculation--the equation will "feed" itself forever, if the result is not mathematically "illegal". This is the entire "mystery" of the infinity of the Mandelbrot set. It goes on forever because it is mathematically designed to do so! It may be a suggestive way to imagine "the mind of God", in someone's conception, but it IS NOT, itself, the mind of God.

Yeah, major problem at the off- Man invented mathematics. We invented mathematics and numbers to explain the natural world. We continue to use mathematics where it remains relevant, but the universe does not rely on these rules, the rules describe the universe. The discovery of a wrinkle in mathematics that first revealed "imaginary numbers" was disruptive BECAUSE it called into question the ability of mathematics to accurately describe the universe. Mathematically, imaginary numbers exist as a byproduct of calculation, but we can't comprehend their physical existence.

Mysteries do exist, but since when does making up absurd things based on false attribution, proclaiming it's true, and then trying to back it up with more unsubstantiated absurd claims a means to knowledge of any kind?
Skepticism is not about challenging things because you don't understand them, or because they don't fit your belief, but trying ones best to know more true things and believe in fewer untrue things!
Science would never make such an absurd claim, and even if Dr. Mandelbrot did claim "It's the mind of god" science is not based on authority, and no scientist will just accept it just because he said it! That's not at all how science works, and once you learn how many people, experiments, fact checking and all there is before anything passes peer review and so well supported that other scientists will use it in their work here relevant, and cite it.
Einsteins laws have been cited millions of times, multiple discoveries made, and even shown usable to the point we have a much better picture of the universe because of everything it predicted, whereas this video misquotes Dr. Mandelbrot and other scientists, misinterprets many science findings, and uses a single "Authority" one Dr. Jason Lisle; an astrophysicist who's only legitimate work is concerning convection cells in the sun... and that only, since then he has mainly focused on shilling for "Answers in Genesis", "the Institute for Creation Research", and is the Founder of "the Biblical Science Institute", which are all three fundamentalist christian apologetics indoctrination mills, that hire unsuccessful barely published if at all other then self published books they wrote (so not officially published in respected and accredited scientific journals) and yet are still peer reviewed by scientists only to show just how freaking wrong they are, how their methods are not accepted as viable scientific methods and how they even violate science ethics for making unsubstantiated claims! So off the record, since no actual research for any of it is on the record!
These Christian scientists"; real scientists are just scientists (there are no factions), do no real experiments, don't even have well equipped suitable labs, nor ever done any viable or useful research studies, and do science all freaking backwards! They claim a god exists, and based on that "Knowledge" (it's mere belief) they set out to "Prove it", but not by showing actual evidence the scientific community can investigate and see if it's useful..., but by trying to defame real scientists, twist known science to fit their agenda, call whole branches of science wrong, especially the most solid scientific theory of them all Evolution, false, and it's the one theory with the the most freaking science facts, works within the laws of physics, is corroborated by several fields with even more evidence... so just undermining science as if that proves anything other than they truly are frauds! IOW: Real and honest scientists review their books to call them out for the complete frauds they are, and to point out their one real agenda:
To gaslight and fool enough gullible people to believe their shit, mainly those who already believe in god looking to confirm their bias toward an already held belief, who they can fleece to make a lot of money off of! All of them are about as full of shit as it gets and just a bunch of cons!
The fact that you wrote "I've known this for a good part of 20 years", just shows that you are not at all a skeptic, but one of the gullible who drank the Koolaid, who anyone with a good story that confirms that which you already and want to believe for whatever comfort or pride it gives you (truth be damned), can manipulate you like a puppet!
So, since this video has no other citations than the well debunked, known fraudster Dr. Lisle a self proclaimed "Christian scientist" (so christian first and foremost), and instead of just presenting the science, appeals to fools emotions and bias to have a way to take down Atheists, which does not equal scientist, nor have jack shit to do with science in the first place (An atheist is just one who doesn't believe in gods, for any or no reason, nothing more), and using that strawman argument to attack the strawman, rather than what the science really says! So you can either just believe that shit and keep feeding your conformation bias, or educate yourself on the actual science not in the christian context, but the way scientists all over the world (so not ~100 fringe outcasts, but millions), who do actual investigation and discovery, provide sufficient evidence and can demonstrate how shit really works, and in many ways, like how it is being used in practice, none mere belief or claim based!
At minimum as one who claims to have healthy skepticism, you can and should have already seen any one of many red flags in this video, starting with the whole philosophical approach which is packed with every freaking logical fallacy in the book, and looked into the truth of it, which you obviously have not done yet! So you have two paths of inquiry:
      1. The 100% christian god belief biased rhetorical dogma side for which you will get lot's of hits to his lectures and what not, all in fundi christian institutions (so again not the ones who separate their religion from the sciences, but the ones trying to replace science with their already held belief), or
      2. The Dr. Lisle as just a scientist, to which you will find very little of anything other than Atheists, scientists, and even other christians countering his bullshit, and showing where he is scientifically wrong, and philosophically brain dead for the most part! You can start with reading what many others have to say about him:

  • @JackVelladeath
    @JackVelladeath Месяц назад

TLDR: They made an infinitely generating pattern with a math formula that infinitely recreates itself down the line or on itself in smaller versions. They then repeatedly say imaginary numbers were used and repeatedly compare its infinite endless pattern to how gods mind could be since it is assumed to be infinite and endless.
They then repeatedly say clearly this infinite pattern (they came up with the formula for) and it's beautiful appearance (they came up with the colors and imagery for) could only be of gods design.
So they came up with a formula that created an amazing endless unexpected pattern and this somehow proves God.. He added a lot of fancy wording about how humans didn't create this because we could have decided 2+2=5 and clearly this is just something amazing left behind by the creator proving there is a creator.
How did he stretch this into 23 minutes of explaining? By saying "stick with me" "this will prove it all" "this will make you a believer" and showing clips of someone also going on about how mathematics laws clearly are created by God.
They then compare some of the patterns made by this looking just like snowflakes, or frost on a window, or a lightning bolt, or leaves on a plant, of specific cones/seeds, or the shape of galaxies. (A lot of things that are kinda known for creating patterns)
They then say clearly we see these mathematical laws being obeyed in our universe because.... Must be God.God must think mathematically.... Even though I'm pretty sure most math was created based on things we saw for tools of understanding to give us explanations on things in our universe (example: I have pie slice...I have pie slice again.. 1 + 1 = 2 🤯)... They seem to want to stress math as a possible mind made invention that the universe just so happens to seem to follow due to god because of their belief while also repeatedly saying clearly math has existed before man and is a god created invention. This was a headache to watch but I enjoyed how these numbers and supposed imaginary numbers made shapes that look similar to how atoms form certain patterns in our universe.
I would love to have evidence God exists but this ain't it, this is just a waste of 23 minutes on a Sunday night sadly before I need to sleep for work. Have a good night and I hope this quick break down saved you some time.
I think the main point at the end was these patterns and mathematical equations clearly existed in some way before man due to things in our universe being able to be repeated or explained by math (wow I wonder why that is, mustn't be because we came up with math to explain certain things and it just so happened to line up with more complex things....) and since there is this evidence it existed before man it must be God's doing. That's basically it. (He goes on that math helping us explain things is God sharing his mind with us and is a holy revelation.)

When the trip was really coming on I began to see fractal patterns and had this same zooming experience in my visuals as you just demonstrated with the mandelbrot set. The thing repulsive in the hypothesis of Dr. Lisle is that he says you have to be a Christian to understand God. It is wrong, a religion is a concept of human mind to understand God and there are many religions as there are many equations to describe reality. Ultimately you don’t need religion to understand God, all you need is consciousness and intellect.

This doesn't prove anything as mathematics is a tool made by men to understand better the reality around us. Mathematics wasn't embedded in our universe, it was made by people in order to respond accordingly to this universe. We were pretty good about it but it's not even close to being perfect as you state, given that we can't even demonstrate that theorems based on arithmetics are coherent with themselves ( see Gödel's theorem of incompleteness for reference). All this to say that numbers and equation are coherent with the reality around us not because they are an intrinsic element of it, but because men built them to be coherent with it. And we weren't even that good at it.
