Hi, Vanessa, great information on this tutorial, I love how you are so informative like the info on putting a hot iron on a wet starch fabric I know now to wait until it soaks in before ironing lol

I starch as well Vanessa. I make my own (takes less than 4 minutes to make and only 2 ingredients - bonus is that it is all natural, nothing to bother me or my animals). I love it as I can modify the amounts to allow for how stiff I want my fabric to be. Thanks for another great video!!

Didn't get to watch until after 10:30pm CST, but I DID order the fusable batting. It said "backordered" so I assume that means when you get more in, mine will be shipped to me. LOVE watching you. First found you on a video with Jenny Doan. Not sure I'll be able to watch live, that's quilt group day for me, but I will be watching!

What brand of starch should we use, and do you spray the starch on before sewing fabric, or after? Do we need to use starch on additional materials we add to the beginning blocks that are already sewn together? Never mind my first Q & A, you just answered what kind of starch to use. 😃

Depends on the project. If it's a quilt or quilted project, I wash after it's done. If it's a garment I pre-wash all fabrics.

Hi Vanessa. I'm new to 'quilting' although I used to sew a lot of clothes and household items like curtains and such when I was younger. I have a question regarding the fusible batting after it is used in let's say a placemat - something that will get dirty and needs to get washed - how does the end product hold up after washing/drying...life use...does it soften and get 'wrinkles or creases or folds' and if it does, can one then iron the placemat and it will be smooth again or will one be able to see those creases? TIA. Looking forward to future videos! ~Barbara
