I enjoyed this you tube video because Max has explained & demonstrated curves beautifully-she is extremely well spoken-excited to try a curvy quilt top!
Curves always intimated me ... even just thinking about attempting curves. Thank you for the step-by-step tutorial with tips. Now, I feel that I can successfully tackle those curves! Great video. Thanks Fabric Cafe! 🙂❤❤
I love the patterns in the new book! There is a quarter-inch foot named Curve Master by Martelli Enterprises that has been around for many years. It makes sewing curves a breeze. For those not using the glue method, it might speed the process since you only need the middle and ends secured to sew. Fun video!
Haven't done curves in years when I learned how from Alex Andersons' show on HGTV called Simply Quilts. I believe her guest that demonstrated was Anita Grossman Solomon. I wish the old shows were on RUclips. I learned so much. That was probably around 2010 or so. I had forgotten how it was demonstrated. So thank you! You did a great job! Don't be nervous ( if you were). I think we are all friends here. I loved the Tulip Quilt. I will add it to my list. 😊
Love this video. Definitely have to get that book soon. Mac seems so sweet, adorable and knowledgeable - fits right in with you guys! Great teaching style and a great addition to Fabric Cafe. Looking forward to seeing more collaborations. Going to check out her channel 😊
I’ve only been quilting for 2-1/2 years and I’m just now feeling confident enough to try curves. I’m going to purchase your book so I have patterns you’ve demonstrated here. I’ve saved this video for easy reference. Thank you!!
Such a wonderful collaboration i hope you’ll have a long association-- I must say I love all of these patterns and really was amazed at how simple they seem to be. I’ve not done curves before but I certainly am going to now
Thanks for the tutorial. I have a bunch of other projects queued up first, but I'll eventually get around to trying the curves! I can't keep up with all the new patterns 😁
Great patterns! I love the idea of using a washable (purple) glue to hold the curved seams in place while sewing. I've made a couple of "Drunkards Path" quilts without any issues but the glue would be a great help.
Loving this video with great Tips! Have you heard of Inklingo? This very clever piece of software actually prints your template onto the front of your fabric with 1/4" seams on it.
I’ve always been afraid of curves..since my tremor doesn’t play well with close cutting, I scan the pattern with the scan-n-cut, create a cut file; duplicate the # desired and cut:)
I tried to order the rulers but I live on a rural route with the word ‘box’ as part of my address. It flags it as a PO Box but it’s our physical mailbox in front of our house. So frustrating.
Hi Laura! We explain how to sew these curves in the video and show a clip of the process on the sewing machine. It will be a similar process to sewing any other blocks together. 🥰

The curve book just adds so much diversity to 3 Yard Quilts. They are amazing!
Very informative thankyou. But could not stop looking at those nails. You need an award for being able to sew with them.😂
I'm such a nail girly. People freak out but I just can't get away from them.
They are gorgeous nails! But so is the quilt!
Fabric Cafe continues to kick it up a notch. All your books are winners, but this book wins the "super bowl" of your 3-yard quilt books.
Oh My! Quilty Superbowl, I love it. Thank you so much
Mac your book is fantastic. Great job. You look so calm and cool doing that I’d be a nervous wreck. Good luck.
Excellent demonstration! Love you Mac❤ and can't wait to add this book to my collection! Great collaboration!

I see partridge in a 🍐 😅 tree or partridge family show 😂 love it.

Love sewing curves! Once you learn the skill, it’s so much fun! And… a shorter stitch length helps too.
I’ve only been quilting for 2-1/2 years and I’m just now feeling confident enough to try curves. I’m going to purchase your book so I have patterns you’ve demonstrated here. I’ve saved this video for easy reference. Thank you!!
You're very welcome, hope it helps and I hope you enjoy the book, Christy 🥰
Thanks for sharing tips for curved piecing! I have the courage to try!
LOVE your nails!!!
you 2 gals make a great team! can hardly wait to make some of these patterns
Thanks Fran and Mac! Looks like fun. 🩷
from Gerry- What a great partnership! The book is amazing- can't wait to get it. God bless.
I use glue sticks for basting ALL THE TIME. I love it! Just press or let it dry and it's never caused any problems. I mostly sew garments though.
Such a wonderful collaboration i hope you’ll have a long association-- I must say I love all of these patterns and really was amazed at how simple they seem to be. I’ve not done curves before but I certainly am going to now
GREAT video! Thank you for the thorough instructions from both of you ladies😊
I love this😊
Great tutorial. Inspiring.
❤ Beautiful!!
I have been wanting to do a tulip quilt. Great. Great video
Now it's the perfect time! 🥰😅🌷
Where is the link for your template for the curves
Your book should come this week..I can’t wait to make some of these quilts-with nice bright colors
I'm afraid of zippers, but curves- I can do that. LOL Thank you for these valuable tips Ladies.
Thanks for the tutorial. I have a bunch of other projects queued up first, but I'll eventually get around to trying the curves! I can't keep up with all the new patterns 😁
Neither can we 😅
Rainbow pattern has the look of a penguin without legs
Great patterns! I love the idea of using a washable (purple) glue to hold the curved seams in place while sewing. I've made a couple of "Drunkards Path" quilts without any issues but the glue would be a great help.
Love the glue tip..pins and I often end up with blood drops on my project
I want your shirt, I love it in yellow
Thanks for the tips. I'm new at curves. The glue basting sounds like a good option for me. Will I be able to press the seams open if I glue baste?
citrus pop reminds me of the partridge family bird
It was fascinating to see her do this with those long nails.
I thought Northern Lights even before you said it!😅
What size blocks are the templates?
Thanks for this video and the book...was getting a little bored with straight piecing.
Can you use the standard drunkard’s path rulers for these patterns.?
I was hoping for a new mind blowing easy way to do curves. I’ve bought every new ruler template and still have issues.
How do you iron the curve when you applied glue to the fabric?
The first quilt I ever made was double curved drunkard path
Loving this video with great Tips! Have you heard of Inklingo? This very clever piece of software actually prints your template onto the front of your fabric with 1/4" seams on it.
I’ve always been afraid of curves..since my tremor doesn’t play well with close cutting, I scan the pattern with the scan-n-cut, create a cut file; duplicate the # desired and cut:)
That’s a great idea!
Do you recommend any of the curve rulers
Mac designed some curved rulers for this book. You can find them here - bit.ly/crvptrn
@@FabricCafe Cost is $38
Where can I order the plastic templates?
Thank you
There is a link in the description box 🥰
Loved using the glue but it dried before I pressed them open the first time! 🤦🏻♀️
I tried to order the rulers but I live on a rural route with the word ‘box’ as part of my address. It flags it as a PO Box but it’s our physical mailbox in front of our house. So frustrating.
❤
How do you see these shapes, I'm new to sewing
Hi Laura! We explain how to sew these curves in the video and show a clip of the process on the sewing machine. It will be a similar process to sewing any other blocks together. 🥰
Can you recommend anyone for rulers instead of paper, I think it would be easier
Thanks just saw them.
Great! 🥰
I ordered book, but did not see the templates?
We do not have the templates on our site, but you can find them here - bit.ly/crvptrn
Thank you❤
Very interesting. Those nails!! A little distracting
Mac's a rock star like that!
I use that saying frequently “you will be cooking with gas”. You are too young to know that😊
