Tonight I watched this entire video with my three-year-old before her bedtime. She was enthralled ( _almost_ to the level of Daniel Tiger), following right along with your storytelling style and asking lots of questions about the tools and techniques. She said she can't wait for the video about the headboard (she calls it the big green pillow). I just wanted you to know that you are leaving a great impression on the next generation of artists and craftspeople.
I can’t wait to buy a future project. Makes my heart happy thinking hand made traditions will continue.
I agree. My kids enjoy his videos because in their words "Dad!!! He's a big kid, like you but skinny." Well at least they can make me a really good old fashioned now thanks to Jason.
That's adorable!
That is awesome! This is what we have to teach our children, there are so much out there for them to choose from and people forget that you don't have to be doctor to be an accomplished professional in your field. It's amazing how much RUclips and other social media has made that happen to many.
MUY buena calidad, el texto imagenes. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO Un manuel muy completo y trabajado. Resulta muy práctico. Para principiantes y profesionales. Lo recomiendo
Dude, you are messed up...and I mean that in the best possible way. You bring a smile to my face with your subtle antics.
Those legs on the headboard side make this the perfect bed for the functional programmer in your life!
I watch your videos for the sound effects. Great looking bed
28:16 Shoot for a 1/4" or even a 1/2" over, and equispace the box, between the legs, for added appeal.
That tip at 7:45 was amazing. I've been using that exact technique on metal and plastic for 30 years and never thought to use it on wood. Thank you.
I am a trim carpenter and have been using that technique on wood for 30 years. I would add that, at least in my circles, it has a name. It is called "teasing the wood" or "rolling your corners". I am more impressed with the fact that he does it. Just because a person has a channel does not make them competent. He is competent. Along with the Samurai Woodworker, he is one of my favorites.
Only thing I would have added would be some tabs o either end of the slats to keep them from sliding back and forth.nice job !
All of your Mid Century modern furniture is unbelievably beautify!
i've never tried that little trick to fix the mitered corners before. that's a great tip!
Can’t wait for the headboard build video.
If you’re looking for a way to end that, showing the fully installed and styled bed in your bedroom would be awesome.
That grain alignment at 18:28 *chef's kiss
My favorite moment of the week.
I love the sound effects when you put the support frame in the middle 🤣🤣🤣
@4:19 You could have clamped the boards with the 45 degree angled face down and hip thrust up. That would make for some good TV.
Dude you’re the fastest content creator ever. You are literally running circles around us 😵💫
Love the content brotha. Can’t wait for our MYM event in January. Cheers man 🥃
What is MYM?
@@charaseac it is an event I have called meet your maker. I invite some of the most influential content creators in the woodworking community to come out to my shop and hang out with the public. It’s a free event and Jasón is coming out in January
@William Douglas Co he has time because he doesn’t answer anyone’s comments 🤣🤣
That looks better than the bed I just spent loads of money on. Thanks for bringing it out about three months too late.
I'm going with your bed plans. This man made a boat with NO plan! This will work for me!!
Dude your the man. I was working off a great Basil Haden during the Build. Thank you!
Man what I would give to be your apprentice. Always amazing work. 👏
That technique for gluing the box together is genius...
You should be writing for a TV show as well. In fact "The Bourbon Moth" Files sounds like a great show. It could be about a DIYer/Woodworker/Content Creator that solves mysteries around town...there could be a cowl and cape...did I go too far? But it would be cool! Bourbon Mothman!
James - I guarantee you didn’t go too far because you can tell he thinks of himself as Robin what with all the sanding and stuff. Bourbon Mothman and his sidekick Robin (Like the bird 🦅) who does all the heavy lifting and crime fighting. Ixnay on the Apecay though. Didn’t you see The Incredibles?
I have to admit though he does a bang up job on these projects. Do you think he reads these bang up comments like yours James? From now on he’s Mothman to me and my friends. L0L
the back leg would be really cool with a half lap too!
Beautiful and simple. It look's like it would be very nice bed. I am looking forward to see the process of making head board. Thank you mister.
Love the bed man. Especially the roll up slats and the headboard!
I'd love something like this, but with some rectangular steel sections to sit on and some underbed storage. Seems like I need to do some modifying.
I get it! You glued it up and CAULED it good. Clever
Walnut looks excellent 👍
One of your best builds so far! Definitely in my todo list
Like the simplicity of the design and the construction method. Have you considered a headboard made from a couple of live edged slabs with an epoxy river across the middle? Next challenge... matching night stands.
@A. Jones Was not aware of Jason's distain for epoxy. Once you put a mattress and bed spread on it will hide all that beautiful wood. So it needs something to give it some sizzle.
I love your channel!!! I’ve only started woodworking. I’ve made a slatted bench & two outdoor chairs. Next two of these bed frames! Thank you.
That was so enjoyable to watch, thanks....Nice one. Paul in the UK
Best pitch of a VPN, dude! Plus a nice bed!
Thanks for sharing the bed making process enjoyed step by step and the hip thrust see you next Friday 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Worth watching for the mitered corner clamping technique alone. 👍🏻
Nice build. I really like the slat roll idea.
Oh?! My headboard? I made this! Dude you are amazing. I want to be like you when I grow up! 😄
Very nice, I love the walnut!
Nice job, looks beautiful.
That turned out really nice and some neat techniques in there. The most incredible thing about this bed build was that it wasn't sponsored by a mattress company. Great work! 😍 Can't wait to see how you made the head board.
It’s pretty much unheard of these days! Coming soon... a fish tank cabinet sponsored by a mattress company. 🤣
That is a lot of really nice tips for mitered corners. It's great to have a variety of techniques in your trick bag so you can pull one out depending on the situation. Thanks!
have just watched your videos and i love how you;ve made your stories about your woodworking, me my self has a plan to have my own wood working shop but until now its is still a plan, :) but anyway, just watching your work. love it :)
Sound effects for the win.
When you have a Domino everything looks like a nail. True story. Man, I love the Domino but I am still using a manual jig and dowels.
This video arrived just in time THANKS
In the woodworking category, Ummm…… I think I’m passionate. You’re such a passionate person. ^ㅡ^
Could you build a floating bed with hidden storage using hydraulic lifts, some floating night stands, wireless charging and a nice headboard with a couple shelf's and some built in lighting. And some led light strips under the bed around the outside for ambiance.
18:28...Brother, you nailed that grain match! If you planned it, awesome...if you lucked out, will you buy me a lottery ticket???
Rhombus is what you get if you squish a square. So all sides are equal. Parallelogram is what you get if you squish a rectangle so only opposite sides are equal. Great vid 😉
Uh whaaaat?????? Now I'm confused 😕
@@WoodsmanSkills take a square. Hold it by the corners so like one corner on your thumb and the opposite corner on your pointer finger and squeeze. The two corners your are touching will get closer together and the other two corners will get farther apart. As long as the side lengths don’t change you have a rhombus.
High School Math teacher here. More or less spot on.
Technically a rhombus is only defined as a quadrilateral with all equal sides. A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides. ... and yeah, we are taking straight sides, not curved.
So technically a square is both a parallelogram and a rhombus. A rectangle without four equal sides is technically a parallelogram, but not a rhombus. Clear as paint? ;)
There are easy to find flowcharts online if anyone is confused and wants more clarity. I use them in class because it is something that often makes way more sense visually than strictly with words.
Except for the fact that all squares are rectangles.
(Also, all squares are rhombuses).
A rhombus has four equal sides; a rectangle has four ninety degree angles.
Awesome build. Happy Thanksgiving
Beautiful!
Thanks for sharing, Jason. A brilliant job, well presented as always with no hint of condescension 🌞
You should add a mattress!! It would be more comfortable!! :P
Love your builds, and all of your tricks it definitely helps me with all of my builds!
The squeeze out is always the hardest to deal with ;)
Really nice bed.
Thanks, man! Very inspiring!! Keep up the good work!!!
That is a pretty Nice looking bed !!
Wow so beautiful bed but I’m feeling a lot of work. I like it 👍
Great work! I might actually be able to make this one.
Realy like the desing , even if it mean adding toes insurance ! Lol !
A rhombus is an equilateral quadrilateral (Yes I used spell check for that). If the sides are not all the same dimension but the opposite side pairs are the same length, it would be a parallelogram. Any way you name it, it looks fantastic. :)
That's a great design, Jason. If I ever decide to build another simple bed frame, I think I might follow your design. I love the geometry you used.
Thanks for addressing the masking tape & super glue question I posted a few videos ago! :)
I know what to give our honored friend for Christmas: sanding paper assorti! As much sizes, grades etc as I can lay my hand on. 😁 Marry Xmas, bro. 😄
This bed totally works for the software developer in me with that lambda shaped leg. λ calculus you know.
Great video! As always!
Beautiful.
Love it. Great work Jason.
Incredible work!
Very nice design. Some great ideas there. Thanks.
Great stuff and beautiful work as always! 👍
If you have any reflux issues, snoring, or apnea issues, not having the bed level can be a good thing. Having the head elevated a bit helps with all that quite a bit. Mine's so bad, we had to get one of the adjustables. I was having constant reflux issues, and now they've practically vanished.
Gorgeous
The sound effects were sooo good. Lol
Such a great build! My son is getting a queen bed for Christmas and we're trying to figure out a frame for it. I really wish I had the tool set and workshop you do...this would be perfect. Oh well, I guy can dream.
Excellent job love it 😍😍😍😍😍
Love the webbed slats. Saw somewhere where the first and last spacer block was attached. This way the boards sort of pop into a slot and also keeps them spread apart.
Great work!
Excellente vidéo comme d'habitude.
beautiful bed!
Nice project.
I've been thinking of doing a similar design with Douglas fir, although with straight square legs instead of angled.
Hi , first ,BRAVO. The way you do things, building, filming, editing, and the voice...in your closet...such great moments...my foreman is almost 5 years old, and i was wondering if you have any tips on what could i build with him ?? Thx
Very nice !
Parallelogram, rhombus is a diamond shape. Great vid!
No
This would make a cool couch design too. Just make a smaller box
Excellent
this is great! keep them coming! you think this would be sturdy enough with out the cross beams? sleep numbers are both a blessing and a curse…
Way to go!
Great build, would suggest adding a centre leg in the middle of the diagonals for extra support.
This bed has 8 feet! On my 140 year old floor, they would not all be touching the floor.
Wonderul job...like always!
Since the attaching screw holes are not symmetric and the legs are symmetric, the legs should get labeled left and right. Excellent job.
BMW pulls through again! Awesome video but now I’m tired!!
I have a bed like this. Being a commercial product (ie skimping on materials) it tended to be quite noisy as the slats creaked on the frame. A screw through the end of each slat fixed that.
One important extra - make sure all the slats are properly sanded and rounded over otherwise they are going to snag on the mattress or underblanket.
Terrific build Jason! I have a feeling that that bed is going to get a lot of use! 👍👍😉😉
We have that same saw at work, I’m not the biggest fan of cutting mitres on it. Maybe it just gets beat up in a cabinet shop but it’s kinda finicky to me.
Still looking for those bloopers!!!!
Great job! Congratulation fron Brasil!
Cool build Jason! Could you put whatever it was that you have holding up the bed while you were staining in the tool list? Thanks.
Bench cookies and risers?
