Nov 5th is Guy Fawkes. Kinda the Brit version of …. Well I don’t know if other countries celebrate an attempt at blowing up parliament. Haha great vid as always
Is this telegram thing legitimate?
@@jsuewrs135 Looks like a scam bot to me.
@@peterjf7723 thanks for the feedback, as I was just wondering the same thing, re. the comment from the telegram. 👍🏼
Great video, cool build and fun experience!!! Cheers!
Awesome book that gives you step-by-step photos ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt and directions to make every day project. I can see myself making a few of these projects and giving them as housewarming and holiday gifts!
Never underestimate the power of an Englishman and his shed; every bloody thing in the world, was invented in a British shed, in British weather.
Getting the full British DIY experience. Most tools in the shed, check. Not enough room so gazebo set up, check. Rain rain and more rain, check. Putting it together in the kitchen while everything sits in the living room, check. Cat (sorry British dog) in the way at all times, yup. Grandad showing up to show how it's supposed to be done, double check. 🤣
Sam's comedic timing is a perfect match to Jason's. The shop tour was fantastic.
I laughed pretty good when he attempted to be American
He's a fraud and he stages all his videos.
I love Sam’s little shed. It’s very well organised and he’s obviously very proud of it. Good on him.
I’m super interested in his dust collection system-Jason please encourage him to share his social medias !
I honestly wish I had a shed like this. I have a garage with much more space, but I can't seem to get it organized in a way that's both useful and still leaves room for other stuff. Having a dedicated shed would be lovely.
Exactly what i was thinking, and the view!!
@@SunshineSyl I’ll try and share some information on it during the week! What do you want to know?
@@Sams-Shed everything! It seems like @Daylen are in the same boat. I’m currently using a shop vac & need something better. The glimpse of your dust collector really intrigued me & now I want to know everything about it cause I think I want to create my own …but why reinvent the wheel, right?! 😉
Brilliant. This is real woodworking. More people have workshops like this than huge “shops” full of monster equipment and every Festool going. But the outcome was the same. Bravo!
I remember my dad saying this was his problem with the show “This Old House”. The host, Norman, started with tools that any person might have, but by the end, he was only using multi-thousand dollar tools that most people wouldn’t have.
@@grapheist612 ask this old house is great!
People like Jason uses a number of Festool products, but he doesn't flaunt them. I'm always on the hunt for new RUclipsrs to subscribe to, and in some videos I watch, in the first minute, all you see is a wall of 30+ Festool boxes. I just turn them off and look elsewhere.
@@grapheist612 I thought I wrote your comment there for a second… My dad said the exact same thing about the same show.
At least he has a shop. All I have is a back deck. And if it rains, the front covered porch. It takes me hours just to setup and take down.
Sam won the contest....and our hearts. What a trooper for being able to tell Jason 'no you come to my shop'. The result is perhaps my favorite Bourbon Moth episode ever. 😁
The logistics around British woodworking is no joke. Most of the projects I’ve done have involved me kneeling on the floor of my kitchen, lounge and driveway. My back hurts just thinking about the bedside cabinets I still need to build. Good on you Jason for taking the time to see a patron in the UK 🇬🇧
I'll try to never complain again about not having enough room in my garage after watching you and Sam cope with his shed while building a bed!
My shop is about the same size. I do all my work in late spring through early Fall. And yes. It sucks.
My basement 400 sq. ft. shop is an absolute luxury compared. I no longer feel cramped, nor will I never complain about having to haul lumber down the stairs again.
BTW... 20:10... I'm hungry now!
That was my first thought, too. I'm never going to complain about my small garage again!
My shop is about the same size. I'm at least blessed with an understanding wife that lets me use the car port for wood storage and long rip cuts on the table saw.
My shop is like 3 times this one... also have greenhouse, second smaller shop(still bigger, than this one), and bigger garden space.... I feel like a rich guy now... Anyway! The video is actually very inspiring, just because of the small shop (or more like "no shop") problems!
In my opinion Sam is legendary. Representing for the English sense of humour straight out of the blocks. Good man.
This is gold! 😂 now you can see what we have to work with in the UK. While you guys rolling in giant warehouses you call shop 😂😂
This is basically the same as my old shop/shed. My new one is smaller.
I work in a storage unit
I’d fail here to even find a lumber merchant lol
Not everyone in America has a shop. My shop is basically a much smaller pop-up tent on my drive way. I even have to use the chop saw outside. But Sam is killing me with one blade swapping back and forth. The table saw and sliding saw should each have their own blade because they should have different hook angles for optimum performance. Also there's lots of time wasted keep switching back and forth.
I live in an apartment and have a ground floor patio that doubles as a shop. It too has an 'outdoor table saw', as well as an outdoor router, drill press, chop saw, and sander. Instead of a shed, I have a very manly-appearing dining room with a bunch of tools in the corner!
As a Brit living here in the colonies I loved this one even more than usual, well done!
Though I gotta put you straight on one thing…., you’re the one with the accent we speak the way it’s supposed to sound 🤣
Proper blighty speak, en'it.
Domino but only one blade for both the chop saw and table saw, love it! 😂😂
This is so English - the parents and grandparents hanging out on your sofa, watching you and offering bits of advice - some useful, some very much not so.
Isn't it. I feel Americans in general would handle this well though. People watching me and commenting makes me feel inadequate, especially a "knowing better" granddad but my Floridian cousin doesn't even flinch 😂
Sam's sense of humour is awesome!!! Very fitting for the channel)))
The British dog was truly the star of the show!
Finally a true representation of what 90% of our "shops" look like. Mine is 1/3 of our garage. So basically the same amount of space as sam. If you need to do anything big you have to wait until its a nice day and do it in the garden. This was a great video thanks
This is spectacular. And a perfect 1st for your collaboration contest. Not everyone has a 1000+ Sq ft shop. Sam's little shed is probably more akin to most shops than he may think and you guys showed that Sq footage isn't as important as the desire to do.
I love the pride Sam has for his shop.
I love the work you do
you're very skilled !
Sam is a lucky young man, having a saw blade. When I was a lad I had to bite my way through the wood and then use fish skin to smooth
😂😂😂😂
You had teeth and fish skin! In my day we had to use grandma’s butter knife and sand with the rough skin on our elbows…
@@dianeewoldt3035 Your grandma at least had a butter knife, total luxury. My poor old nan had to make do with a sharpened toe nail.
@@vikramkrishnan6414 my grandparents had to lick road clean with their tongues and go to bed without the supper.
@@georgeblair5070 You had roads, wish we were that lucky. When we had to go somewhere we had to cut trees down with an axe to create a path to walk on
The most relatable video you've ever made! Sam's shed is beautifully British 😍
Smart man that Sam. Engineering quite the shop out of a shed and a tent, multi-purposing his living space, and hot swapping blades and putting the money into the domino joiner was genius. This was an incredible video. That bed is beautiful and will last a lifetime. I enjoyed this so much
So glad I found this episode. Firstly, huge respect for honouring the contest to the fullest extent and doing this project with such meagre resources.
Secondly, in all fairness to Sam, by our standards in the UK, that's a pretty well appointed shed. He should be very proud.
Thirdly, so cool how Sam took you into his home/family life, and how you integrated. Says a lot about you both and made for a really special video.
If I wasn't already subscribed, I definitely would be after watching this.
Absolutely fantastic.
Next Moth shirt line: “my shop also has a kitchen”. 😂😂
There is a couple out there somewhere in England who will be thinking of you every time they go "under the sheets". Ain't love grand :)🤪
This video is a balm for our troubled souls at a time when so many conflicts test us. Jason and Sam gave us a nicely focused education in woodworking while demonstrating hospitality, charity, humility, and humor. What a wonderful world is woodworking!
This video was mad fun to watch. Sam was just as funny as Jason always is and the project was dope.
Good job, remember it does not always rain in England, sometimes it snows.
Sam lives on one of the most magnificent properties that I've ever seen! I think he'd also do a bang-up job as a woodworking RUclipsr! 👍
Imagine how efficient everyone would be if we had the same tenacity as he does to use such a small area
An old saying.......its not the size....its how you use it!🤣🤣🤣...a big thank you to Jason & co for making this a memory Sam no doubt will remember his whole life..... something to tell the kids in the future👍🏻
I think this is my favorite of your videos thus far. Sam has definitely made the most of his tiny shed-shop and it makes me appreciate my space a bit more - although not much larger, I can use my table saw inside. Great work all around - and I love the bed! 😊
Totally outstanding video. As someone (also in England) whose first ‘shop’ was a disused 8x6 plastic greenhouse, I am truly impressed by Sam’s shed. I also have to take my table saw outside to use it but I have two blades! No domino joiner though…
More of this kind of thing please! Sam, when are you starting ‘Sam’s Shed’ as a channel?
I just did! - I'll give it a shot and see how far it takes me! 🤣
@@Sams-Shed Congratulations on the bed AND the channel!
Hello Sam I just subscribed to your channel and looking forward to watching some awesome videos!!

@Sam's Shed
just subscribed. Cant wait to see what you come up with
This proves that we don’t need much to woodwork, determination overcomes everything, I am jealous of the wood supplier he has available, I love the fact they cut the logs, mill the lumber, and sell it all in one place
This video has had me in stitches. Being a fellow Brit I feel his pain of a small workshop. And the crocs with shorts finished me off!
I'm British and live in Canada, clearly, something from our common wealth rubbed off once upon a time cause as soon as Winter starts "warming up" and we get to about 7 degrees the Canadians are out in their shorts and sandals lol
Thank you for making me smile and that goes for you to Sam!
I’ll never complain about my single garage shop again! Just proves what can be done with a single saw blade and a gazebo. I think we forget that contractors often work under similar conditions for a living.
Loved how committed you are to your patrons !
I for one admire the English and their small back yard wood working sheds. They have figured out over many centuries how to accomplish so much in such a small space. It's as the Britts would say 'just brilliant'.
Upon hearing your advice, I tried the table saw/mitre saw blade sharing technique. I have to say it was quite nice! It added a much needed upgrade to my terribly convenient work flow.😂😂😂 OH MAN I laughed so hard at that part of this video. The bed looks great guys!!
Good video Jason. I am not only impressed with Sam's shop but also in Jason and Craig's commitment and follow-through in bringing us this from the UK.
The planer is a Wadkin BAOS, 60 years old and still one of the best in the world
That was so funny. I love that his dad and grandad were just sitting there drinking tea, and scrutinizing everything. No pressure boys!🤣 The bed looks amazing. And you got to see the annual Burn a Catholic day. I mean Bonfire Night!
Absolutely love seeing you building in a tiny shop with minimal tools. Your content is always amazing please keep it up.
Sam, if you're reading this, please tell your cat they're adorable. Thank you~
I'm from the UK and lucky enough to have a workshop about 70ft long and 20ft wide. It doesn't have a roof and the floor is made of grass, but one mustn't grumble
Really enjoyable. Every woodworker starts small.
Quality fair play to you for fulfilling your competition obligations and travelling to England and making a lovely looking bed
You picked a good winner, very entertaining to watch and Sam did fantastic on camera!
Fun video. Watching you sip tea reminded me that green tea is supposed to improve your memory. It works, because whenever I drink it, I remember it tastes like crap !!
I love Sam's house and how to have to cross the street to get to the garden. his shop is also very well organized and I would love to see him again in the future!
A beautiful bed for a lovely couple, and watching you guys struggling to get that up the stairs was priceless. Well done laddies, lol.
I thought my 2 car garage is a small shop I'll never complain again
You could not have picked a better place to go. You built a bed, bigger than the shop you built it in!! I loved this video, bro!!
I just loved this video. I moved to the UK about 5 years ago from Canada. If you want lumber over here, you have to track it down and buy it from someone who mills it. My wife and I renovated an old house remotely. I sent the architect drawings for my shop. The builder decided that no one needed a shop that big and shrunk it by 1 meter. I ended up with a glorified hallway. Most of the local trades people work out of the back of their van so what would they know? I have tried to squeeze in my proper table saw, drill press, jointer, planer, chop saw and dust extractor. The builders asked what my 10 inch General saw was. They had never seen something like it before. It is like the shell game. The best solution I could come up with is to put all of the big tools on castors and move things around like a valet parking lot. I work outside as much as I can but the weather here can be quite bad. A 3/4 inch sheet of ply that I had on sawhorses in the back yard got blow up in the air by a gust of wind, broke a wall mounted light fixture and they landed about 20 feet from where it started from. Luckily I was in the house on a lunch break. It was really nice to see you come and adapt to local conditions. You have a lot of patience. If you are ever at Disneyland in California, it is like 'Small World After All'. That is what it is like here. I have two acres and it is mind boggling to most people here. Kids ask 'Why is your garden so big?'. Sorry about our food.
Welcome to England. One of the things that I’m always amazed by, as a UK woodworker, is how massive US workshops are. I’m lucky enough to have a shop that is 26.2 x 10.8 feet. I still moan about that, but I’m very grateful for it. The first thought that went through my head when Jason said he was coming to the UK was “This should be interesting” knowing that he was bound to be working in a restricted space. I must admit, I wasn’t prepared for how restricted. Good job at making such a small space work though.
I loved this so much! Was going to go to bed, and save for tomorrow. But it started playing and I had to keep watching. This was great! Good job Sam!
This video was just a big delight from beginning to end
I think this is a perfect example of why I like your videos. Its not just wood working or furniture building, they are entertaining and funny. Always appreciated and enjoyed.
Changing the saw blades did it for me LMAO.
Positively BRILLIANT mate! Highly entertaining and Sam is hilarious, fitting in perfectly with your uhm ... twisted sense of humor. And to top it all off, that bed looked fantastic - no one would ever guess it was built in what amounts to a closet with a single small blade. lol
Easily one of your best videos!
Proof that, although more difficult, you don't need to own stock in Festool or Felder to build nice stuff!
DUDE!!! BROTHER!!! I’ve never laughed so hard during the hundreds of woodworking videos I’ve watched. That was awesome. I about pissed myself from laughing throughout this video. Makes us all appreciate our shops a little more. All jokes aside, you couldn’t have POSSIBLY asked for a better experience, England! What an awesome way to meet another culture by way of a similar love and passion….woodworking. Great video, hands down one of my favorite RUclips videos EVER!!!
OMG that cat cuddling with BM! Adorable! "Weird British Dog" ROFL
Now that was the most entertaining woodworking video I watched in a very long time. Thank you. 🙂
I think this is the craziest wood working project I have seen here so far but I love it! Great idea, great story, great everything! Respect for your decision to take the challenge!
Noooooooooooooooo!!!!
You were on my doorstep and I had no idea! - would have loved to meet you.
I live right by Sam!
Welcome to England. I have the same shed but all my work is done outside. I am a weather permitting wood worker 🏴🇬🇧
Hats off to you Jason, well done for showing what is possible. Sam is a legend to make it work in his shed. Very funny.
Sam is like my English counter part lol. Small workshop peeps unite 🤣🤣
This is one of my favorite videos you've done!
The carefully labelled odds and ends jar, the tiny shed, The Henry Hoover (is the pink a Henrietta?), this entire video is so British it makes me want to pour someone a pint and make fun of which ever sporting team Australia has most recently thrashed. Oh god, the tiny staircase is giving me flashbacks.
Oh man, this is your best video by far. I laughed so much with your comment about "never swept the floor".....brilliant, they had it coming.
I hope you enjoyed England, Sam seemed like a great host and the bed looked awesome. We'll done guys really enjoyed the work.
Quite possibly your funniest and most entertaining video ever. I full on belly laughed at the blade swapping between tools. Thanks!
Sam used his knowledge and imagination for that shop. But yeah, we have a lot of tea in our home but it doesn't compare to coffee...
This video was AMAZING. What a special experience!! Loved Sam, loved the shed, laughed my face off the whole way through (esp w/ the shared chop and table saw blade) and of course loved the bed!!! Well done, laddies.
What an awesome contest and thanks to you in helping Sam fulfill what I'm sure was a dream project.
This is such a good video. I live in England and I know the struggles of having no space and bad weather 🙃
Fantastic episode 👍 really had fun watching it and how you squeezed into his Audi after loading all the timber 😂
Great stuff and well organised shed, high five to Sam ✋
I truly enjoyed the American Texas accent skit. Well done Sam, spoken like a true western cow poke. You should think about getting a cowboy hat and a horse although the only place to keep your horse would be in the kitchen. The barn is full of wood working equipment. Thanks for inviting us into your lovely home and shop and congratulations on your new bed. I must say I'm feeling much better about the size of my wood shop. Take care.
Absolutely loved this. Welcome to woodworking inside you're house in the UK. Nice shed Sam mate done us proud, treat yourself to some ice-cream. Good work Jason proper good sport. Great vid.
hehehe, now you know the despair I feel when i look at your workshop, which that is bigger than my house, let alone your extension or even the house! :D
Cracking video though, shows that even with limited space and less tools what is possible. Love that the whole family turned out :D
Yes he would even dream of the despair. 😂😂😂 girl from London here!!
That's got to be one of the funniest vids I've seen for a long time.
Really funny how us Brits are portrayed to our American cousins. Very entertaining watch! Thank you!!
This is by far your best video and the fact that Sam’s personality mimicked the comedy that usually goes into your videos, made it even better!
Best video ever , being British I can categorically say this is how every british person works on there house and projects 🤣🤣
"Weird British dog" ... had me cracking up 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Brilliant episode! Enjoyed seeing Jason in England too (as a fellow England human) Sam was definitely the cherry on top haha Loved the banter. Also, as others have mentioned, the size of the shed was exactly how the majority of us operate "workshops (worksheds)", no huge shop unfortunately but the job got done so kudos! Really enjoyed this one 😄
Amazing how even a tiny shop can produce such a wonderful king-size bed. Well done.
That was awesome! This has to be my favorite woodworking channel on RUclips! I really enjoy the entertainment. Thanks for another good watch
5 minutes in and I already love Sam's sense of humor!
Great to see you over the pond and working the British way! 😂 Fantastic build and very impressed with the English accent 👍🏻Hope you enjoyed your visit to sunny England! 😂
This has to be my favourite video of yours of all time.
A beautiful end result, a fantastic, humorous video, and wonderfully relatable to the many, many people without huge workshops. It looks like Sam and his girlfriend did a great job as hosts too, but he definitely needs to splash out on a second blade!
Never underestimate what can be achieved in a blokes shed at the end of the garden.
What a nice environment Sam is living in. Love the landscape and his woodshop. He may be proud if it. Nice.
This is a really Epic build lads....
To steal a "Samism," this shop is brilliant! Everything is so nicely organized and well thought out. While it may be a compact space you can obviously turn out whatever you might need/want.
I enjoy seeing you work in other peoples shops, its cool to see everyone's individual struggles with their shops
Good stuff, is not about the space you have on your shop, is about the craftsmanship.
So very well done by all of you. The best video you have ever published. DAMN SO AWESOME. HELP SAM GET STARTED ON RUclips PLEASE. HE AND HIS GIRLFRIEND, DAD AND GRANDPA ARE PURE NATURALS
Brilliant! I really enjoyed this diversion from your usual content Jason - the humour was still there and you found lots of opportunities to express it whilst getting the job done. Thanks also to Sam, of course . . . and his girlfriend's breakfasts alone look like they were worth the trip you made.
An excellent video, more for its entertainment than for any woodworking info, but the half hour of watching flew past and had me laughing out loud a few times.
Thanks again to everyone involved . . . the only thing missing was a group photo in the shop . . . but I don't suppose you could all fit in there at the same time anyway.
I woke up at 1 an in the morning do early morning travels. This video didn't put me to sleep and really cool. Hey, I am not going to England but my wife is going to Connecticut from New Mexico. Seriously, I am drinking COFFEE and not tea. All kidding, I do like tea but prefer COFFEE. I do have to say, "that was a well put together video with all fun and cultural differences in a very lighthearted way". Thank you for going and Ned, sorry Sam and family for looking to be gracious host. You Tube and other social media outlets could do more to have stuff like this. God Bless
