The air is very soft and really makes the flake lie down nicely. Its much slower and as such your arm gets tired holding a quart gun. No water contamination like with a compressor. Most auto paints need to be thinned and definitely a slow reducer. The air from the turbine gets hot and dry spray is common. Very low overspray. The hose is large and bulky. Great for small jobs. I also spray waterborne and solvent paints indoors for homes and offices. Much better control than a hvlp or airless. The motors of the turbine are the same as vacuum cleaner motors(shop vac style). Anything more than 4 motor system is worthless. You can get a better deal on other brands or turbines. At one time they used that same style of gun with a thin air line hooked to a compressor. Air that is diverted from the spray, used for pushing the fluid down to the needle, takes away atomizing the paint. This style also is great for spraying bigger flake. Very nice set up for spraying motorcycle gas tanks. Its just another tool in your tool box.
I have a 4 stage fugi turbine sprayer with the T70 gun sprayed a 47 foot Yaht in 12 mph winds and turned out perfect, l just did 2 coats of primer on a 80 Bronco in my garage, minimum overspray and 50 percent less paint used,, l have a remote control on and off that really makes it nice
This is great for someone who doesn't have an air compressor or one that's the size they would need to pull this off otherwise. maybe if you are just getting started it would be a way to save some headache and costs. Possibly painting out of a storage unit and where you would really benefit from no overspray going all over everything. looking at this Acura an the results, I'd say the gun paid for itself on the 1st job!
Is not the pint gun is the master that's all it is San Antonio's smashing the like botton to your videos Texas style yahoooooooooo katakaboooooooooooooooom
I’ve been researching these systems quite a bit, and I’ve seen a few recommendations of putting the hose in a bucket of ice water. Apparently it’s supposed to keep the air more constant as the temps in the beginning and in the end are different resulting in an imperfect finish.
Finally! Someone does a video spraying with a turbine! I’ve been spraying FUJI turbines for many years .... Turbines are very under rated and not very main stream, but produce great results with virtually no overspray. Slower than a conventional setup but tons of control. Great video ....!!
I’m glade to see this turbine machine in action, was looking to buy this than the bulky compressor setup. Technology is amazing, automize the paint that you can save time on the orange peel.
I've seen my share of "factory finishes" from the automotive industry, I wouldnt brag about it, most of them have bunch of orange peel unless we're talking about a luxury vehicle finish such as a Ferrari or lambo. Turbines are great in pro hands
Great video. Looks like it lays down nice. If it lays down silver metallic with no issues you know its a good system. Definitely want to get one since I no longer have access to a spray booth and willl have to work in my garage at home. Just wondering if you reduced your base and clear the same as you would spraying from a compressor set up? Also do you think it could handle a complete paint job or mainly partial painting?
@@PaintSociety Yea good thing you spotted it the haters would ramp up. OMG....I see stuff in mine too that you cannot see in person. Big thanks, I only found one other guy with a pretty poor RUclips video using the same Fuji sprayer I have. But you put me at ease once you said to dial it into 5psi. That's all the intro 2 stage turbines put out. Have a range of tips but haven't had the time as yet to get my projects going. Educating myself with your series. Great work!
Great video! Is the air from the turbine system a warmer air, more suitable for painting? I would have thought the turbine would have been outside of the paint booth. Very nice results.
Can you make a video explaining sealers, primers, paints, and clear coats? Like what is it, when to use it, why you use it, what happens when you don't use it, around how many coats, what thinner to use. And maybe a paint thinner video? What thinners you use and the different types, I know there's a lot. I wouldn't want use the wrong paint or to add the wrong thinner and mess up a paint job.
Question. With the smaller tip, will you still get the same metallic pattern as factory to blend? Decklid doesn't look even close in the video. Maybe the camera. Thank You for the video on the new equipment.
What filters do you use on your half mask? Organic Vapor Cartridge, 6001? But what is the extra filter that sits on top of it? Maybe you could make a video explaining your PPE choices through your experiences. Is it the Particulate filter 5N11?
These are pretty nice and a good option in several ways. But the price is a little out of range on this one for many. But you can buy them in same quality for half the price. From a certain company thats been selling them for years. Same gun types too. Great to see the detailed video. To point some in a good direction. I've been thinking about these for a while.
Royal Indigo I did half of a car without the turbine system giving me any issues (Fuji Mini Mite 4 platinum). The air supply would not be be your limiting factor for a full car.
Delighted you done this vid, i bought a Fuji Q4 and have been watching all your videos wondering how my turbine system would spray. Really appreciate if you could do more videos at home as i will be spraying my Defender in my home garage. Thanks again and awesome videos
Cool video Brian.. i would love for you to do a comparison with the fuji platinum q5 & t75g or gxpc.. that's what i use.. all the reviews are for cabinetry type finishes as well as latex household type stuff. The rep i bought my unit from said that I needed at least a q4 to atomize automobile finishes like urethane base. I would love to know your thoughts & opinions on the FUJI.. i love mine..and actually found out about using a smaller fluid tip to atomize better after spraying 2k superbuild (2.0 tip)... (thought i was going to be blocking all day) but once it leveled out.. it was dead straight. No spot putty nothing.. sealer and base/clear.. another job start to finish... "on the go"
how is the over spray in terms of the surrounding air? I know youre in a booth but lets say for some one in a home garage. we have neighbors to worry about and im wondering if this is much better at keeping that paint out of the air in terms of smell and the crazy cloud that comes from spraying clear from a traditional set up? thanks! love your videos man.
This system does an excellent job at minimizing overspray. I actually use a similar unit for painting cabinets in my garage. I have no issues running multiple GALLONS of paint. It truly is an amazing unit for reducing overspray
I wanted it bad when I first saw this video. I saved up as much as I could by way of side jobs. I clicked the link & it’s no good. Anyway, I think it is a Brilliant system. It’s been rebranded and is at Eastwood called the “Maximizer 2000 paint system” comes with the guns and is the same exact thing with different decals. Definitely worth the investment.
I really enjoy your teaching methods you are very well spoken and professional! I am getting my truck ready to spray. It is a work truck and has about 250k miles on it . I m thinking of using Rustolium white paint, doing some airbrush fire and then a gloss urethane clear gloss. Will this combination work?
I.have a relatively inexpensive turbine sprayer from Fuji ($400ish depending on where you buy it from) And if im honest it puts down paint every bit as well as any hobby / DIY level gun ive ever used. And while it wont lay down a million dollar show car finish, you can get a finish every bit as good as what most manufacturers gove you. That said a $1000 sata in the hands of someone who sucks at painting wont make them a pro, so a quality unit and decent skill can negate having to match compressor specs to gun needs and regulators etc etc... When i first started trying to learn paint and body works the thing that messed me up the most was not understanding the cfm needs of the HVLP guns (the non hvlp cup gun my neighbor gave me didnt care so long as i gave it 30psi overspray was ridiculous lol) vs what my compressor could provide. And running out to go get a "bigger compressor" really isnt feasible. These turbine units eliminate that learning curve, so if youre an enthusiast these are the way to go.
@@junhao1269 true story, but everyone needs to start somewhere, and turbine sprayers remove a lot of common fuck ups. Like mixing and matching this that doesn't play well with that blah blah blah. Taking the equipment guess work out will prevent somebody who wants to give painting a try from getting frustrated and saying the hell with it. I'm no pro like Troy trapan..... fuck Rad rides by Troy, where somebody will hand that guy a few hundred thousand dollars and get a vehicle with a paint job so smooth you need a scanning electron microscope to find flaws, but I've gotten good enough to equal a factory paint job and it's let me have a little side hustle god knows my onlyfans career isn't going anywhere (yes that's a joke). And I know how max corn this sounds but the first car you successfully paint will put a smile on your face like few other things can. Lots of people work on there cars, swap engines, replace brakes etc and it takes skill and more often lots of patience with what engineers thought were good ideas but painting a car isn't something you can grab a manual and be able to do by following along. Oh and I'm stuck inside with a busted leg and ankle hence the novelization here lol
I'd love to see a side by side comparison of both methods of spraying a car. One where the up's and downs of both are explained. This video showcases what this method has to offer but what does that mean for me as a newb to spraying cars. Should I forgo getting a compressor and get a turbine or is the compressor still a preferred method.
I used a 4 stage turbine unit to refinish a salvage car and due to inexperience had lots of issues setting up and dialing in the turbine gun. Also these turbine guns are heavy, my Fuji T75G being more than double the weight of the Walcom I use now.
@@shaneclarke4801 you can't use the Walcom guns with a turbine as they are designed for compressed air. If you don't like the GXPC gun, try the Apollo 7700, you'll get much better results.
Well Brian I'm impressed and would be great for small jobs but would like to see the outcome of spraying the whole car for an exact opinion but thank you for the video really great channel stay safe to you and all your team you
I enjoyed that video concerning spraying vehicle with the Apollo turbine sprayer. what type of clear coat was used on vehicle doing the headlights . What was the final grit before you clear the headlights thank you
Would be nice, for a motorcycle business. Finding suitable compressed air supply, is a plus, with this unit. I think it would be great for these types of applications!
After watching this, I'm definitely getting the $125 setup from harbor freight. I know it's not as good as this one, but since I'm just painting my own car, probably outside in my back yard, it'll do fine.
Would you recommend this for doing complete paint jobs? And can you lay it out like glass and flat like spraying with an iwata spray gun.?Im interested in this system.
IS the pressurization of the cup because of the low pressure at the gun? Does it need the pressure to push the paint into the air path? I am just trying to understand what it is doing? This is a very interesting topic on the video...
Another great video - thanks! Are you looking for ideas for new videos? How about one on baking the finish afterwards. pros/cons, etc. Can the D.Y.I.’er bake with an IR or UV lamp? Is it worth it? Thanks!
Hello Brian I used to own the accuspray turbine and guns before 3m took them over it was a brilliant Pierce of kit unfortunately sold it on with my. Van wished I kept it now .
I'm looking at the Fuji Semi-Pro 2 it's also about $550 if you have heard of this I'm wondering how it compares to the one you used in the video. There's also another one they have called the mini mite 5
It's got a hefty price tag, but seeing the results is almost worth it. I'm definitely interested to see your results when you do some videos with it at home
I just saw the price and shit myself. For DIY stuff it wouldnt benefit me but for professionals who see it as an opportunity to be mobile, i can see the benefit.
I’m starting to look at a 7-stage 120v system. I do enough mobile heavy equipment repair that it looks much better than shelling out a few grand for a gas powered compressor to power my air spray guns.
Brian, I didn't hear you mention a downside or problem. And the car looks great. So, in all honesty, is there any reason why a professional painter would not want to use a turbine gun as his/her primary painting tool for 90% of the jobs that come through the door?
Downside is who knows how reliable it is, and cost of repairs, as a lot of the money is in the machine itself. Whereas if a compressor breaks you can get one that day to keep the shopping running or swap out depending on what broke, the parts on a compressor are far more abundant, even Harbor Freight can work in a pinch. Seems like you are also limited to the gun, where a lot of people have their favorite gun, that sprays how they want. It shoots a low amount of material which adds time to the job, makes up for it in paint cost. But the customer is paying for the paint, the shop is supplying the time. It's expected if body work is needed it will take a while, but spraying should be quick. I have a feeling that a lot of people would probably have trouble laying metallic with it. Seems kind of like a paid advert with the lack of any downfalls.
thx. I am researching the Fuji Spray system turbine sprayers.... (Canadian company) and I'm in Canada.... maybe you could see if you can try one of them out.... how many stage is that Apollo? Home user, have a project Miata I need to respray.

I been doing mobile with a turbine for 9 years and love it!
What turbine system do you paint with?
@@gregorypeterson9 fuji
@@Jbautopaintrepair which tips do you suggest for starting? base, clear and primer? thanks!

Is this good?
Brian can drink some paint and spit it on the panel, and still achieve perfect results :)
He’d be dead but hey no fish eyes or orange peel 😜

Dead ass

I like how you test a product on a silver grey metallic. All painters understand the things we get sometimes with silvergrey. Nice job
Yea I kinda just went balls into it and said let’s see what happens!
I’ve been researching these systems quite a bit, and I’ve seen a few recommendations of putting the hose in a bucket of ice water. Apparently it’s supposed to keep the air more constant as the temps in the beginning and in the end are different resulting in an imperfect finish.
I have heard this to, I'm gonna try it with the 3 stage Avanti I just scored brand new for $160
Cool little system this would have been a game changer when i was doing mobile paint repair! Great video!
Does it run out of air at some point when painting a complete car, and how u get less orange peel?
Cant wait for your whole entire review of this spray system
Thank you your insight on one of these has sold me on one
I've seen my share of "factory finishes" from the automotive industry, I wouldnt brag about it, most of them have bunch of orange peel unless we're talking about a luxury vehicle finish such as a Ferrari or lambo. Turbines are great in pro hands
Have you tried the sprayfine hvlp systems? Their 5 stage $759
Thanks for the well done video. I have a Titan capspray 95 and am planning on painting my Prius. This was cool to watch.
What turbine were you using my friend and how much orange peel was there
Great video.
And right needle is everything with them as well
Yea dark lighting from the booth doors throws a shadow on the trunk Match was perfect. but looks off like you say.
Yeah it looks horrible on camera
@@PaintSociety Yea good thing you spotted it the haters would ramp up. OMG....I see stuff in mine too that you cannot see in person. Same problem and miss them then I get all these comments. about how crappy a painter I am.. I guess I get those anyway. Last comment was you lumped on the primer so thick it is going to fall off while driving down the road. Not knowing what product I used that is totally specified for larger fills. OMG.....Like there is only 1 way to do this stuff..
@@Mikefngarage It’s all part of the game, that’s why they make the delete button LOL
@@PaintSociety Hide user if they get too bad. then the comments count for the algorithm. I just let em RIP....leave them up there.
The funny part is when you do that, they still think they are leaving a message
I like how your videos are exploring different ideas
The name of that company if you please?
@@victoreous626Probably Sprayfine. They are reasonable.
Seems like you enjoyed playing with Turbines, I know I found it interesting. You should also try a Fuji turbine system
I love my Fuji.
Can fuji do whole cars?
Royal Indigo I did half of a car without the turbine system giving me any issues (Fuji Mini Mite 4 platinum). The air supply would not be be your limiting factor for a full car.
@@camrynwright80 so the Q5 platinum would have no issue? Wish someone would post a video spraying a car with it
I’ve done full resprays of BC/CC on multiple cars with my Fuji Mini Mite 5. Works great 👍
Delighted you done this vid, i bought a Fuji Q4 and have been watching all your videos wondering how my turbine system would spray. Really appreciate if you could do more videos at home as i will be spraying my Defender in my home garage. Thanks again and awesome videos
Yes. Excited to take it home and give it a try
I've been spraying with a Turbine Gun system since 1987. I still use the same gun today but on my forth compressor.
Which gun and compressor do you use?

@@gregpdmtThe 90 model or the 99 model?
Love to see if it can paint a whole vehicle or truck pleaseeeee!
Im interested to know how well it does with mid-coats and primers. I hope you do a video on that too.
I've been wondering how these work... Thanks for the video.
Try and get automotive based paint. Even if it’s a work truck.
Link pleass
Well you wont be able to fight all those great painters with this system, someone who sucks at painting wont benefit with anything
Good choice for the home diy guys indeed lots of potential 💯🇺🇸👍🙏💰
Been waiting for this for a.long time. Thank you.
Great vid, thanks for sharing! What was better this or the fuji you had in your garage.
I was looking at these at SEMA last year. I might have to pull the trigger when I do lot lizard jobs
Hi Camryn, what Walcom you use with your turbine sprayer. I don't like my G-xpc gun
shane clarke I am using a walcom slim kombat since I sold my turbine system and bought a 30 gallon air compressor.
@@camrynwright80 ah makes sense why i couldn't find them lol. thanks for reply and they are sure sexy looking guns
@@shaneclarke4801 you can't use the Walcom guns with a turbine as they are designed for compressed air. If you don't like the GXPC gun, try the Apollo 7700, you'll get much better results.

Great video Brian. Hope you can do another one using the portable unit outside doing a smart repair.
Would be nice, for a motorcycle business. Finding suitable compressed air supply, is a plus, with this unit. I think it would be great for these types of applications!
Nice video great presentation and easy to understand and follow along ,thanks

Brian is the man 🔥🔥🔥
Awesome video 👏🏻 looking forward to see a video how will perform at home in more DIY modest conditions, without a booth.
After watching this, I'm definitely getting the $125 setup from harbor freight. I know it's not as good as this one, but since I'm just painting my own car, probably outside in my back yard, it'll do fine.
if on a budget check out fuji pro 2...
Hey Brian you think one day you can do a review of the Eastwood LT100 spray gun?
Would you recommend this for doing complete paint jobs? And can you lay it out like glass and flat like spraying with an iwata spray gun.?Im interested in this system.
Thanks for sharing! Awesome job!
How's orange peel on the clear? This is very useful since there is no drop in CFM.
I sprayed with a portable hvlp system years ago. I'm sure there much better today.
Awesome video….I have a Fuji mini mite that I’m seriously thinking about using on my civic.
@@maxie9506 ..So how much is it.? I'd love to know..!!
I’m starting to look at a 7-stage 120v system. I do enough mobile heavy equipment repair that it looks much better than shelling out a few grand for a gas powered compressor to power my air spray guns.
I was very impressed the way you could blend out with it but the price seems a lot.
Talk to me about the headlamps you sprayed clear on, What did you do to prep them? Where the lamps orange or foggy
320/400/600/800/1000 clear.
I'm a home DIY guy considering painting my 1985 Chevy Full Size Pick Up. I am not familiar with the yellow tape you used for masking. I only know about green "Frog Tape" supposedly being good for that. What should I be buying? Thank you.
Wow. I want one. Where can I buy and it’s is possible to use with rust oleum or other?
How do you match color so good ? Where do you locate ?
I'm starting my own SMART Repair business can I just say now because I know your videos are gonna help me a lot in the future; thanks
This is the perfect system for SMART repair. No air compressor needed and they will run all day on a 2,000 watt generator.
If I understand right, this paint system is working on low pressure and very high CFM?
Hey brian
Could you make a video about what you'll need for starting a business?
