    Thank you for sharing this information with everyone. I got this very unit as I plan on using it for latex painting for the house (and wood working projects). I got this over a year ago and finally going to use it this weekend. This video has been very helpful and informative for me.

    Thanks, I have been agonizing over which HVLP sprayer to get. I had done a fair amount of research, then saw your video. I just ordered the Q5 with the T70 gun and subscribed:).

    Great video on this product! Liked and subbed. Just pulled this unit out of the box and will be spraying SW Gallery series paint on some cabinetry I made. Any input on which nozzle size is appreciated!

      Hi Andy, I would spray with the 1.5mm aircap set for a fine finish that builds more slowly, or a 1.8mm aircap set to move a little quicker. The typical advise is to use a 2.0mm aircap set, but I think it plasters the paint on too thick. If you're using the Q5, you'll really like it. I remove that black inline valve, and just set the variable speed on the turbine to about 80% or so. Good luck on your project!

    This is the 3rd man I’ve watched on RUclips who pronounces it turban. It’s Turbine. Turban Is what the 9-11 hijackers did not wear on their heads. 🤨

      I suppose I do mispronounce it. I'm not sure if I can change my ways now, but consider it duly noted. Thanks.

      If it's just the knob and little wedge shaped spacer, it just threads on to the shaft of the lever. If the whole shaft came out, it's more complicated.

    Is it a turbin like what Arabs wear or turbine like a jet engine? I'm confused now. How does a turbin generate psi? Can I use the HV8 with that turbin?

    I purchased a Craco Croix Turbo X8, it is in perfect condition, I have a couple of gravity HVLP guns that have the traditional air hose, can I simply switch out the quick connect fittings and use the gun with the turbin and hose?

    • @TheThoughtfulWoodworker
      @TheThoughtfulWoodworker  Год назад

      No, I don't think that would work. Turbine spray guns operate on high volume and very low pressure (usually 7-9psi). Compressor driven conversion guns usually operate at 30-35psi. You'll probably just have to buy a gun designed for your turbine.
      Best of luck.

    Hello I'm new to spraying. Why would you use your Q5 over your airless? I don't understand why people own both quite yet.

    • @TheThoughtfulWoodworker
      @TheThoughtfulWoodworker  2 года назад

      Yeah, good question. The airless is good for painting a house, but it doesn't produce a fine spray pattern. Plus, the airless is a lot more work to clean up because it pulls paint through the hose.
      With a turbine sprayer there's only paint in the cup. It only takes about 2 minutes to do a full clean.

    Are these ideal to spray spindles on a porch or airless sprayers are better for that?

    • @TheThoughtfulWoodworker
      @TheThoughtfulWoodworker  Год назад +1

      They both would get the job done. I have a Fuji Q5 as well as an airless sprayer. I use the airless for painting the house, so I'd probably just use an airless for painting a deck railing. Best of luck!

      There are several cups available, depending on what gun you have. Go to Fujispraysystems.com and choose products, parts and accessories, cups. There you can choose the 3oz cup you want.

    • @TheThoughtfulWoodworker
      @TheThoughtfulWoodworker  2 года назад

      @@spkendrick Yes, any of the Q models have extra soundproofing and engineering for no direct sound path from the turbine. They will run quieter than the standard models. In addition the Q5 has variable speed.

    Is there an in-line pressure gauge that be installed right before the gun? It'd be nice to know just how much pressure you have for different types of coatings that will be used...

    • @TheThoughtfulWoodworker
      @TheThoughtfulWoodworker  2 года назад

      There is an in-line valve to control airflow. I took mine off, because the Q5 is variable speed. It's easier for me to just dial in the airflow on the turbine. If you're looking at a turbine without variable speed, the valve might be useful.

    • @xxdemonshitxx
      @xxdemonshitxx 2 года назад

      @@TheThoughtfulWoodworker Oh no, I meant an actual gauge where you could read how much pressure is going to the gun. I've seen this gauge on some of the automotive pneumatic spray guns. It's great the Q5 has the variable pressure knob, but for those of us who haven't been spraying for years and can't find the right pressure by ear or through a bunch of trial and error, having a visual for psi would be nice.

    • @TheThoughtfulWoodworker
      @TheThoughtfulWoodworker  2 года назад

      @@xxdemonshitxx there's no pressure gauge, but with a turbine you really don't need one. Airflow is constant on most models, and you adjust fluid control to suit the situation.
