    How about tip about gearing

  • @migratorygame7400

    Hard dry track, you want a harder tire and a soft wet track a softer tire?

    • @kart6t3_ben
      @kart6t3_ben  2 года назад +1

      Usually that would be my recommendation. Soft tires will heat up quicker and give up. I was on a hard dry track this week with Burris 33s that duro 55.

      If you run soft tires on a hard track your gonna heat them up fast (more friction) and feather them like crazy. I race at stateline and routinely run right sides that punch 50-55

    👍 thats a good tip. Didn't really think of that. (Added to track notes)

    When you poke your old yellow Vegas and they are in the 50’s. What do you use to get them back down?

      I like Track Tac GK1 blue for good bite and softening. It’s aggressive but not too aggressive.

    Nice vid…thanks for tips. I have been studying on this exact thing the last couple weeks.

      Yes. How soft can I go before it’s too far.

      @@kart6t3_ben yes…we run Burris tires on the red clay in the south. Tracks start wet then dry and dusty then back to damp as we transition from daytime to night in these spring races. So hard to know when and what duro and prep to be using especially when it may be a couple hours between qualifying or heats etc. A lot of guesswork and just experience of having been there before. Just yesterday the track picked up a full second from practice to race. Trying to read the tires is something I need to get better at especially this time of year.

      @@joshf5832 absolutely! I raced Dumplin Valley one time and had that same experience. I live in “Burris Country” but the southern tire game is different wether it’s Burris, Maxxis or Vega. It’s a slow learn for me down there.

    Great video as always Ben. Maybe this could be a series with some track footage?

    Hey Ben i have 2 sets of tires to bring to the track and im seeing guys bringing 5-8 sets of tires. I have trouble wondering what a whole second set is for let alone multiple more

    • @kart6t3_ben
      @kart6t3_ben  Год назад +1

      Different duro, Prepped differently, different staggers are the usual reasons.

    • @gtscott22
      @gtscott22 Год назад +1

      @kart6t3_ben would prep change the tire duro say only after its applied and than when it dries up after sitting give you a different duro?

    • @kart6t3_ben
      @kart6t3_ben  Год назад

      @@gtscott22 yes some prep does not stay in the tread. It evaporates when let set for too long.

      Thick. My open/uas would eat thins alive.

    Hey man! I’m in PA just dipping my feet into the Open classes and such.. got a nice 2 stroke setup and want to get a wedge body, where could I order side panels from and maybe bracing? Also I haven’t seen anything built for nerf bars either.. any info would be great! Thanks and keep making the great content!
