Just wanted to let you know, anytime I look up something on RUclips for kart racing your channel is the first 2 or 3 videos no matter the topic. You are killing it man.
Been having good luck preping with black sand a week prior and then running either sqs or orange at the track. I feel like less is more for my son. Ive messed up with too much prep where the tires felt soapy and had to clean it off and leave it.
Goat Piss King here, I could absolutely kill a set of Maxxis HT-3 with that stuff. Five laps into the feature I was sliding off the track because my tires gave up.
Hey i love these videos! i have a tony kart i rebuilt 5 years ago and stored it. going to be running t a few times this year. i have some ten year old tire prep that im going to use on these hard old mojo's. ill be running at WWTR in STL.
If u either stop prepping or better yet set them to the side and run another set is more ideal. Having softer and harder sets with you can give you a better chance.
Hey Ben, thanks for the great videos! They are very helpful. We run treaded Burris 22's or 33's on a clay track...do you recommend prepping these tires the same way you have shown in other videos? Should I be using the orange DRT and BTGP red on these treaded tires? Thank you! Rock on
You can. The btgp will soften the tread quite a bit so be careful. I’d recommend starting with orange or at2 at first to see if you feel any benefit. I just would hate for you to soften a set of tires and burn them up too quick.
Using Black Sand for the first time this week. Couple questions, first, we prepped a new pair of scuffed Maxxis Sunday. Will they be ready by Friday? What's your preferred Black Sand prep method? And lastly, do you use any prep in combination with Black Sand? Thanks!
2-3 coats of straight black sand. Then at track cut black sand 50/50 with acrysol or Naptha vm&p and use as a pre race wipe at track. Yes id say your ok Sunday to Friday applying BlackSand.
Yes. If you get out of the main line or prep line you can free the kart up. Problem is there usually isn’t any bite up there. But changing line do to handling woes is very common.

Once they are saturated it takes awhile to absorb for certain.

That can happen. Burn em up early and ZANG no grip.

I’ve been down that road three weeks ago over prep the tires and the kart was stuck to the track and the tires were making a chirping sound
Oooooh that’s stuck to the track.
So what can I do if over prep happens ? Will they come back by themselves , do I need to apply more chemicals to reverse or is the tire junk ?

Do you feel like if you over preped the tires that bumping the pressure up a little helps?
It will help a little bit I think. At least make the effects not as bad.
Great example, what tires did you end up on at Carnsville? Just curious
Maxxis, 55 duro ish.

@@kart6t3_ben thanks Ben!
@@vernherrman5811 your very welcome.
Ok... Question Can you just move up/down on track to correct over prep (up a little looser???)

You need to do some how to videos on some small things about karts for new people like me
Did u look though my videos. Have quite a few. Try looking at my playlist “karting basics”
Hey predator racers on the red clay in the south with the syrup goop tires this vid is for you 😂
Why do they still let peaple prep when the time cost doesn't all ways pay off you don't need prep to race anything have a clam rule on tires
It makes tires faster, People are gonna do it. Very hard to police everyone so it’s just part to the game now.
