    Hello everyone! Thanks for almost a million views!
    Many of you requested me to trim the first 5 minutes, but unfortunately I can't do that because RUclips restricts trimming videos with over 100K views. To resolve this, I put a timestamp in the description, which you can click for the takeoff part.
    Thank you and have a good one!

    What’s interesting is that most of the jet noise is directed backwards with exhaust so you can’t hear most of noise from inside the cabin unlike a prop which emits noise in all directions and not just backwards. Thus you hear the prop noise more from inside the cabin. That’s why props sound louder from the inside than jets even though jets are louder overall.

      It's hilarious that your description reminds me of my first flight from Orange County in an A319. That tiny thing is like a rocket. The pilot backed up to the very edge because the runway was too short. He held the brakes and opened the throttle to full then let it RIP. I couldn't believe how quickly it got to rotation speed and when it left the ground, my stomach was all over the place. He executed an insane hard right and I could see the airport go aaalmost vertical! I know that planes have to use the "short" takeoff method but I wonder if he was a retired fighter pilot...

      They would make it through, but the Chinese government has essentially killed Hong Kong as a world city. A lot less people would feel safe going there, myself included. The Chinese government has also wanted Cathay Pacific to get bought out by a Chinese airline for a while and is working towards that.

    • @X50505
      @X50505 3 года назад +1

      @@EdmontonRails HK hasn't been a "world city" for a long time, it's no longer a gateway to Asia, mainland Chinese cities surpassed it in size and development long ago, Dubai has become a greater international hub and the concept of an international hub will die off with the ever increasing flight durations (Perth to London for example).

      It's also absolutely FRIGHTENING when you have to enter Switzerland from Germany. Lufthansa stuck me on a tiny Avro jet. The pilots took the plane very close to the airport and actually pointed the nose DOWN for the last three minutes of the flight! I could see the horizon tilting so severely that for a second, I was wondering WTF they were doing... Learned much later that because of the Swiss Alps, they severely affect wind patterns and this will instantly change how a pilot approaches the airport. He/she might have to completely change the final approach every minute. Landing in Zurich is not for novice pilots or fools who have JUST passed their flight exam!

      I find it fascinating that the engines are all built by hand. Rolls-Royce's aviation division is fascinating. It's still mostly what is sometimes called a mom-and-pop workforce. Like professions that have been done for centuries, the father trains his children to take over when he retires or dies. And engines are all carefully bolted and welded together by hand in small teams of 2-4 people. The fan blades are actually cooked in a special oven that makes them "puff up" so they're actually much stronger before going into the oven! It's a very tightly guarded secret and very few know how it is done.

Realize that if the window were to crack open somehow not only would you get sucked out due to difference in air pressure, you would get sucked right into the engine and turned into mincemeat by the fan blades in less than a second. Just something to bear in mind while filming :)

    Pro tip: the plane doesn't even get onto the runway until 5 minutes in. The rest is pure plane porn, though, and the videography is excellent, and I upvoted it for that. :-)

    5:50 notice how the moisture turns back into water because of the extreme speed of the airflow, neat if you ask me

    Ive flown in this aircraft so many times and the 787,the fact that boeing said their 787 is “quieter” makes me feel a bit suspicious..
