agreed. Although the RB211 on ANY aircraft is awesome. I've flown on BA 767s and 747s. Both equally awesome when it comes to the RB211 :) But yes my favourite plane and engine combo is the 757 :)

Those are some BA engines! Who would have thought 30+ years ago, that we would have jet engines on passenger jets producing easily 60K + lbs of thrust! Amazing and thanks for the sounds!!
I flew on Dreamliners powered by Trent 1000s almost 2 years ago. Not only do they sound amazing during takeoff, they’re quiet during cruise, which made it easier for me to sleep.

Anybody notice that take off run on the A340 at the beginning of the compilation? It seems the aircraft had decided it had paid to use the entire runway, and it was going to get its money’s worth! The climb out that followed was one of the most shallow I’ve ever witnessed. Was it actually climbing, or was that the curvature of the earth doing it’s thing? 😅
Indeed! You got the feeling those RR Trent’s on the A380 were barely above idling when it was cruising (sailing?) down the runway and taking off. I bet there was no throttle back afterwards either. Those engines are so powerful, they probably weren’t even running at full thrust 😉

I am going in June on an A380 (I don't know what code it will be ) but it is on Emirates Airlines from LHR to Dubai where I have to change planes onto a Boeing 777 to Seychelles; because it is not a big airport for the island, has about 750000 passengers per year. I have been to Seychelles twice, the last time in 2000.
@Fuel to Noise Generator Nice video! Thanks for putting this one together. On the very, very last clip- outbound from Munich to Singapore I think, the engine sounds more like a “growl” than a turbine engine. At least that’s how I heard it. Happy landings.
With increasing airspeed the noise from the engines is much less noticeable since the aircraft "travels away" from the sound (however, only if you're seated in front of the engines).

Talk about a “fuel to noise generator” - those planes take the cake. Of course there are other jets that make a lot of noise on takeoff- F111 and F4 Phantom (before they were retired,) B1B bomber, F18, etc.

I don't need to look at the rest of the clips . The very first video with those Trent 500 engines was perfect and the sound i prefer on my jet engines. Only exception is the RB211-22b which nothing will ever come to surpas that sound. Give me my 7-Up and my blanket, and i am ready for my nap.
Trent 500-800: Beautiful roar from the engines! Trent 900: I’d say it’s in the middle. Trent 1000: ICE 3 type sound at 10:02 Trent XWB: Hate the whirr but love the buzzing! Trent 7000: Like XWB but muffled.
think the trent xwb-84 sounded the best,then the 700,then 800,then 500,then the 7000,then the trent xwb-97 then last the 900. found that the 900 was quiet but if you ask me which has the best sound engine of any engine it the GE-90

There are a few clips on an 380 starting on a wet runway. The sound of the engines spooling up is so beautiful, it almost sounds like music.

trent 7000 used a lower power setting in this video. watch other a330neo takeoffs and you'll find that they can be much louder
Love the howl of the 700 and the reassuring grind on throttle back. The A330-200 with Trents is my all time fav aircraft.
