Although India is a very intresting place, and my parents were born there, so I do have some not so immediate family still there, it can become a very exhausting place after a little while, and I remember the relieving feeling of the plane taking off from the Bombay Sahar airport...as soon as you get in the aircraft the pressure of India comes off.. lol. lots of bittersweet memories of the place.
This video is so well done. Thank you Sir. From the execution on the RR sounds to the stabilized view. They sound like the most delicate symphony on the planet. First Class!
I wasn't the only one who heard that extra detent! I was like "Did they just TO/GA??" I wouldn't be surprised, it was a long flight, so the plane was full of fuel and it's taking off from a hotter climate.
Takeoff is at 21:16, this is a taxi video not a takeoff video. Although great quality I was disappointed to have over 20 min of sitting on the taxiway.
FYI not a full power take off, Mumbai is not a limited runway in any way so this would be a standard FLEX THR take off with power reduced by about 10/20%.
It has got nothing to do with the "limited runway". Flex and V speed calculations also depends on the airplanes Gross weight such as fuel, cargo and Pax. It can still be a TOGA takeoff even on a longer runway if the plane has a high gross weight. Next time don't go around correcting people when you clearly know nothing about aviation yourself.
@@melbourneaavgeek9757 FYI be very careful who you try to correct dear chap as I’m a Captain on the A350-1000 and have operated many times between Mumbai and Heathrow, even at gross weight which it is not, with a 3448 m runway at around 30 degrees, there would be a FLEX of about 42 degrees or about 10%. However as it’s only a 9 hour 30 min flight back to London which is an approximate fuel burn of 58 tons, at Max weight of 308 tons we would be 17 tons over max landing weight of 233 tons on arrival at London. Also as the type of freight we usually lift out of BOM is fruit and veg, this tends to baulk out way before we reach our zero fuel weight so the average max weight out of BOM with a full passenger load and freight is around 275 tons giving a poss FLEX of about 55 degrees, close to a 20% reduction. We don’t go around using TOGA when we fancy as it represents an additional maintenance penalty if used excessively, even our Go-arounds are utilising soft go-around to avoid unnecessary use of TOGA.
Wtf why are they announcing in hindi on british airways? I flew on the same route in emirates and as expected they announced both in arabic and english
Busy airport like Mumbai ought to have at least 2 runways , not to mention 3 runways . However , New Mumbai airport could reduce the load of aircraft’s - whenever it’s ready 😅
What's all that clicking and clacking going on in the cabin while the aircraft is taking off and climbing? Those attendants are supposed to be seated. 🤔
I love the A350 and 777 but if your in a seat like this near the engine on take off. It can be ANNOYINGLY loud with the grinding noise these engines make until they reach cruising speed. So your best bet is too be seated directly on the wing or better yet behind it so you won't hear this noise.
Incredible spool up, you can hear the pilot advance the throttles through each of the detents.
And the thrust reduction is amazing as well.
That famous Boeing spool up....

That thrust reduction was outrageous 😂
Standard on the A350...a bit overpowered when under MTOW. This is a FLEX takeoff though, not even full power.
If it is at MTOW, then it must be at TO/EPRL, not a flex setting. That is SOP for BA.@@haroldlipschitz9301
