    Good video. This is one of few YT videos that I have seen were the FO as PF actually taxies the aircraft! I see so many videos from different where only the Captain does this even if he is not flying the aircraft.

    • @MrSchwabentier
      @MrSchwabentier 3 года назад

      On many Boeing planes it actually only can be done by the captain as they don't even have a steering device for the right seat. And on most airlines it is company policy that the captain does all the taxiing.

    • @RicciWork
      @RicciWork 3 года назад

      @@MrSchwabentier But why is it that company policy even on Airbus planes requires the Captain to taxi? I understand, from some reading I have done, that docking stations in airports (where they have) are oriented to be read from the Captain's side only; but otherwise why the Captain?

    • @MrSchwabentier
      @MrSchwabentier 3 года назад

      @@RicciWork I honestly don't know, probably tradition. Because the argument that it is a task that comes with great responsibility and should therefore only be done by the captain would apply to everything else as well, so that wouldn't really make sense.
      As I said, epecially on older planes there was no steering at the right seat, and a few decades ago captains were in fact doing all the flying. So it might well be just a tradition at some airlines.

    • @bullwinklejmoos
      @bullwinklejmoos 3 года назад +1

      I think it goes back to the days when the captain did everything, and if the FO behaved, he might get to move a switch or two. It would be nice if the FO could do that here in the US. Both our 777 and 787 have tillers on the FO side, but it’s still in our FOM that the captain will taxi on the ground. No logic to this at all.

    • @peteconrad2077
      @peteconrad2077 3 года назад

    If I'm correct in my estimation, runways aren't supposed to have train tracks on them. Sounded like aircraft was on tracks

    What a long taxi from the terminal to the runway. And there was a lot of banging as they went down the runway.😳 That's a fairly new aircraft.

      they were driving on the runway lights... it's really hard to avoid them because they are just slightly offset from the centerline of the runway

    Très belle vidéo pour découvrir l'A350-1000.
    Par contre, je trouve dommage que l'anglais ait été choisi pour le travail en équipage dans une Cie française. En effet, il est reconnu, en cas d'incident grave, qu'on revienne à sa langue maternelle pour échanger plus facilement dans un contexte difficile. En revanche, l'anglais devrait être la langue obligatoire dans les échanges radio avec le contrôle sur tous les aéroports internationaux afin que tous les pilotes sur la fréquence comprennent ce qui se passe sur l'aéroport.
    Happy landings !

      I agree about the A350, she's absolutely stunning!!
      The 787 isn't as nice to look at but Boeing have totally nailed it on the Dreamliner's wing design...... it's a work of art.

    As a Frenchman and European citizen, I am SO PROUD that we, in France, together with our european friends, are designing, engineering and building in France the best airplanes in the world. There’s no place in the world in which I feel safer than in an European made Airbus plane. Boeing is finished, with their planes crashing every f*cking years and sadly taking the life of so many people. When you think that those poor souls would still be alive if only the company they flawn with would have choosen airbus over boeing… If it’s oparated with a boeing plane, I choose another company, and I don’t mind paying extra if it’s to fly in a well made, well designed airplane that stays in the air rather then terribly crashing on the floor, or loosing a big holl into the fuselage… Airbus ❤🇪🇺🇫🇷❤️ RIP Boeing, and most importantly RIP all those poor souls that lost their life because Boeing choosed economical benefits over safety 😢🕊️

    🙋 On The Nose Steering On Take Off Does The Nose Gear ⚙️ Get Locked 🔒 In Place While Barreling Down The Runway Or Does It Just Stay In A Straight Line Because Of The Force On The Rudders Keeping It On A Straight Line On The Runway.🤷‍♂️

      As your speed increases, the nose wheel authority decreases until it becomes lock in the neutral position

    As someone that was in pilot training many years ago, and went another direction, its left me with an unanswered curiosity about airbus layout and design. Wonder why the side stick is mounted so low? Has always just seemed unusually low to me
