I did this on a 607, just with the high pressure washer....
Same every 5 month i do this and my car run fine.
Can potentially damage the filter. It's ceramic, like a flower pot - not designed to take up any high pressure. Pressure drop should be measured before & after cleaning - beyond a certain level you can be sure it's gone forever: better to know in advance rather than failing the MOT.

Inside the DPF there is porous ceramic. Using only hot water and chemicals for cleaning damages it. The internal temperature of the filter must rise to very high degrees and remain at this temperature for a certain period of time so that soot does not accumulate inside the filter. That's why manufacturers say it's more important to clean the filter with dry hot air. There is a machine called DPF-R produced by PYM Automotive. DPF is removed and connected to this machine. The air reaching 600°C makes the soot burn and regenerates the vehicle that cannot be done. This is the best method. The new filter is expensive. The process is inexpensive. They both sell this machine to mechanics and also provide this service to vehicle owners in their own places. I share it by saying that information becomes valuable and useful as it is shared.
Where can i study these things? im a mechanic myself and looking to invest in a machine to do this service in my town, some people say hot cleaning with air doesnt do much, (baking method) compared to water method, do they ship to united states?

We had a clogged PDF on our bucket truck at work so i look up a new PDF on google. $3,000+ for a new one... Hell yeah we had it cleaned... Now every damn advertisement i see is for a PDF smh lol
Here in Europe people just decat them from a side thats not vissible underneath that you cant tell thats somebody took it out and map the car that it wont trigger no codes
@@411nightnheaven we actually had to have a technician reset the truck after we reinstalled it on the truck. emission specs, cleared the computer. Runs great now.
Its easier to take the dpf off.

@@tarodchaoslord Aha, you're lucky there yeah. I have an issue with my Audi A3 2.0 TDI. Shaking violently whilst accelerating from 3rd gear only and up. I believe it's the turbo causing misfire due to lack of air.
Do you know what could cause it?
Also when I push the car from 3rd gear and up, the turbo over boosts and stops working. But at the same time the engine is not shaking when accelerating.
@@mhvdm @sjakkelino so my mechanic knowledge comes from not having enough cash to go to a mechanic back when I first went self employed so I did most of my car repairs and maintenance myself, I'm actualy a sparky by trade.
Check to see if it is actualy after your 3rd gear or is it actualy discriminating on the rev count that can tell you alot, at a rough guess I would say tgat you have somthing causing a block in airflow some where possibly the edge valve, you realy need to check it for any error codes rather than guessing you could be causing more damage by just driving it around, again I stress my mechanic knowledge comes from being foolishly brave due to my electrician background so I'm willing to tinker, but also low finances so having to do alot of repairs and maintenance myself.
@@tarodchaoslord The turbo is bad though, it makes a siren noise. Which makes me believe that the turbine is damaged in some way causing less or half (blocked) airflow to the engine when it's under stress. 1st and 2nd gear doesn't cause enough stress on the engine and it doesn't need as much air I think, but in 3rd and up the engine requires more air to accelerate at the same amount of speed.
I am just a hobby mechanic myself and don't know much special just as you. I also do it to save money. Sadly no videos on RUclips match the exact issues I'm experiencing. Although I have found forums with the same issues, but they solve it in ways I know won't solve mine. Because I have already tried it or know the part is not bad by testing them.

An even better way to clean it is to delete it all together.
I think it is time to make the DPF structure easier to clean. It is not eco-friendly to use special equipment and solvents forever. The manufacturers should change the DPF structure so that it is as easy as replacing the engine air cleaner.
They dont want such that happened. People would less often visiting shop🙈😂.
However, this problem, which is associated with diesel vehicles worldwide, will not improve unless manufacturers change their structures. In another 10 years, diesel cars may no longer be an option, but there are still things that can be improved. Let's hope for the best and not be disappointed.
As long as you drive the car right... DPF filter will last 150k miles.... if not more! So why bother? I've replaced the DPF on mine for £140 incl labour, and will be good until 300k miles.

How much do you charge for the cleaning if I removed the dpf myself?
Well in Czech Rep it costs around 200USD or 180 euros...its definitely better pay for it cause its professional and soot will be gone for a very long distance if you want to do it by yourself there are 2 options - *wet cleaning* The principle is to clean the filter by immersion or filling thanks to special soot solvents. There is a high risk of damage during reinstallation, if the filter is not completely dry, it will rupture due to the rapid formation of steam from liquid residues. In addition, you park the car for about a week...and second one is *ultrasonic cleaning* which is safer but still means that you have to remove the DPF filter from the car at best, cut it at worst and weld it back into the exhaust pipe after cleaning ....and sad fact is that both options are only very quick solution cause after few thousands km it will clogs up again :)

@@kerhy7666 so the dry method (hot air ) is best yeah mate ? I have no lights drives ok just regens bit shorter than I'd like . Many pointbto injectors . I had 1 new 1 under warrantee. I can get brand new denso for just over 200 quid I have new seals already.......tbh I'm pretty confident changing them cleaning bores . Clean seat etc and repgrsmme them but need the additional tools

haha ... dpf cleaning is for 1/3 price of original part, BUT this clean status of DPF last approx. 15.000 kms ... :D ... so, for price of new dpf part you have three cleanings, which could last about 70.000 kms ... with new dpf you can drive almost 300.000 kms :D ... nice try how the get money from pockets of drivers ....

In Europe we just throw the dpf away and map the car that it wont trigger no codes and voila

Or you could just give your car a good 45 min blast up and down the motorway to get it hot enough to clean it itself.
Once they are past a certain point, there's no amount of blasting down the motorway will resolve it

The problem is there's so many people that will happily drive around with the eml on with no care, saying "it's running alright"
driving down the motorway only burn soot, ashes accumulate in the DPF over time and the car regen can't remove the ash from it. This method removes all the soot and ash (that brown/white colour in the water is ash)
@@sestevao it worked for my x5, it went to limp mode so I blasted around for a hour as fast as it would let me, and it's now sorted warning on computers gone, and is sweet!

Cars would not pass a legit MOT in the UK without them. One of the reasons my neighbour still drives a 2005 Rangerover - no DPF as stock and easily deleted EGR valve.

@@sinediss Yeah dont worrry, i know a few MOT places that would give a rusty shopping cart an MOT ;) I mean, all you need is a legit car next to your car and stick the emission tester in the legit one for a reading.
I'm ok as i drive long distance so my dpf doesnt clog. Its easier to leave mine stock. Diesel seems pointless in cars though as there's nothing really over petrol. It used to be a cheap fuel and was touted as the best mpg by the government, but that, like everything else from them was lies. I reckon my next motor will be petrol.
