Where can i study these things? im a mechanic myself and looking to invest in a machine to do this service in my town, some people say hot cleaning with air doesnt do much, (baking method) compared to water method, do they ship to united states?

Well in Czech Rep it costs around 200USD or 180 euros...its definitely better pay for it cause its professional and soot will be gone for a very long distance if you want to do it by yourself there are 2 options - *wet cleaning* The principle is to clean the filter by immersion or filling thanks to special soot solvents. There is a high risk of damage during reinstallation, if the filter is not completely dry, it will rupture due to the rapid formation of steam from liquid residues. In addition, you park the car for about a week...and second one is *ultrasonic cleaning* which is safer but still means that you have to remove the DPF filter from the car at best, cut it at worst and weld it back into the exhaust pipe after cleaning ....and sad fact is that both options are only very quick solution cause after few thousands km it will clogs up again :)

@@kevinhancock4064 it will clogs up again soon cause you left there many mess which can be destroyed only with professional technology in car service :) homemade cleaning will make your DPF dirty again like after couple thousands kilometers

@@kerhy7666 so the dry method (hot air ) is best yeah mate ? I have no lights drives ok just regens bit shorter than I'd like . Many pointbto injectors . I had 1 new 1 under warrantee. I can get brand new denso for just over 200 quid I have new seals already.......tbh I'm pretty confident changing them cleaning bores . Clean seat etc and repgrsmme them but need the additional tools

@@kevinhancock4064 if you want to do by yourself do it by yourself but result will be hardly year and you can clean that again :)

they dont seem to understand that dpfs have closed off channels that capture soot and those cant physically be cleaned

Cars would not pass a legit MOT in the UK without them. One of the reasons my neighbour still drives a 2005 Rangerover - no DPF as stock and easily deleted EGR valve.

@@sinediss Yeah dont worrry, i know a few MOT places that would give a rusty shopping cart an MOT ;) I mean, all you need is a legit car next to your car and stick the emission tester in the legit one for a reading. I'm ok as i drive long distance so my dpf doesnt clog. Its easier to leave mine stock. Diesel seems pointless in cars though as there's nothing really over petrol. It used to be a cheap fuel and was touted as the best mpg by the government, but that, like everything else from them was lies. I reckon my next motor will be petrol.

They dont want such that happened. People would less often visiting shop🙈😂.

However, this problem, which is associated with diesel vehicles worldwide, will not improve unless manufacturers change their structures. In another 10 years, diesel cars may no longer be an option, but there are still things that can be improved. Let's hope for the best and not be disappointed.

As long as you drive the car right... DPF filter will last 150k miles.... if not more! So why bother? I've replaced the DPF on mine for £140 incl labour, and will be good until 300k miles.
