So many people make things more complicated when it comes to explaining things. Thank you for making it easy to understand what we need. If you can make one with examples of matching amps to batterys and set ups to batterys that would be even more awesome like a 1500w system or 2000w system with 2 subs + highs and mids .

it also depends on the efficiency of your amps... i have a 2500 watt Shark amp that is very efficient.. when i changed to a brazil style 3500W amp... my electricals struggled.. and i have a 270a mech man alt and 2 D3400's... plan to get a 400A and a few batteries.. its too cold to be out working on my system now.. my garage isnt heated and wont fit my truck anyway..its teeny.. so ii am re-do the whole thing in the spring.. just start getting parts over the winter... love the channel

Hey man I have a soundqubed hdx 15” I’m running it on a jp23v2 it’s not out in yet because I’m scared to mess up my cars electrical. I have a stock 150amp alternator and the big 3 done with 0gauge ofc wire. If I get 1 more batter fore the system alone would that be enough not to worry? And what battery would I need if it is okay? So glad I just seen this vid I'm running a Jp23 V2 on a poor skar evl 10. The skar is holding its power so far even though I got the big 3 and all 0 gauge wire. Iv got to get extra batter. The lights are going crazy. I only had the system a month.

Awesome video, I was looking at the xs power d series 4900 agm to go with my mechman 320 alt. You think that 1 battery would be enough for my 2.5k system? I was gonna add a d4s LTO 6.0 if needed or was thinking I could maybe get the xs titan 8 s5 pwr 4900 lithium under the hood and maybe run my while vehicle but not sure if it will or not since it looks like lower ah then the agm.

adding an extra battery on a stock alternator will only put more stress on the alternator right? And batteries are only good for when your car is idling right? It all starts with upgrading the alternator right?
Honestly I never had a problem with having a stock alternator and a upgraded battery. Before I upgraded my batteries, I noticed dimming lights. Cause I didn't have enough power going through my system. Especially added with a big 3 upgrade. Works perfectly 👍

Correct. Adding a battery with more capacity means the alternator will need to work longer to recharge it. Do an alternator upgrade FIRST if you can only do one, but plan to upgrade both.
@@jimjones3287 to be honest, I've seen alot of car audio shows where people replaced their car batteries for a xs battery. I've done it before myself. And it starts right up every time. But if you're worried about the alternator. You can get a higher amp one, that won't break your pockets. I bought a 300 amp alternator for $189 on ebay. Brand new, and it's still going. 👍

I wouldn't use a motorcycle battery for car audio. It would be taxing on that battery, and drawing alot of current.
Just buy a super beast 48 ah headway battery module from battery hook up for $250 and convert it to 12V for 96 ah. No additional costs either 💯

Great question! Wire the cap and the second battery in the back in parallel. And then connect it to the Amp. It shouldn't matter how you do it from there! 👍🏽🔥🤟🏽

@@GLO_187 yeah you can run them both together. But if you want...you can do a battery delete under your hood. And just run the lifepo4.
Basically you keep the lifepo4 in the back and run your power wires straight to your alternator and anything else connected to the original battery. 🤟🏽🔥

First I will say, great amp! 👍 Second, make sure your grounds to your amp is fully connected and probably grounded to your chassis. That could be lacking your power. If all that is good. I would recommend the D3400 XS battery. That would give you the boost you need and then some for future upgrades. 👍Hope this helps bro!

I would definitely upgrade to a second battery for setup. Your stock battery won't be able to keep up with your system and electrical of your vehicle. Check this link out... Hey bro I have 2018 CRV ex - I installed Skar EVL 8in bundle Sub pack in my car (600w RMS sub and 800w amplifier) and the car stopped do i need a powerful battery like XS power 51R in the engine bay to handle and I also i have OEM alternator. if i just change the batter would it be good or do i need a alternator too?
It sounds like you might have a alternator problem if your car stopped on you. Hopefully not. But if you're only running under a thousand watts. You shouldn't need to change the alternator out. But I've seen stranger things. But definitely upgrade your battery, because that will definitely help you in the long run.

I thought this because of the subwoofer install because I got it install 3days before and I knew the car was about to gradually slowing down.
But usually these would work on the oem battery and Oem alternator right?
I also got timing belt replaced 15days ago at 60k miles and I was wondering this all happened because of that causing the engine to shake and stop.

But with everything running in the car, the extra battery will contain extra power storage and also deliver the juice you want when you have a bigger system. I won't lie, the xs power battery D3400, will run about $400. On my channel, I have a affiliate link with showtime electronics. I can't remember what the percentage is for it. But you will get some money knocked off your battery if you choose to get it. I know $400 is alot of money. And not everyone has that on the spot. Lol my channel is built around budget car audio. So I know how it is.

@@MrVuittonDon most definitely, most guys will get high output alternators for certain car audio builds. But you're trying to do above 4000 watts or more. I would definitely consider looking into it. Like I said, if your only gonna do 1000 watts. You won't have to worry about it. 1000 watts only needs 90 amps and your alternator may have more than that already. But if you decide you want more wattage later, you should definitely get one.
So what’s the purpose of the ustart?
The ustart is a ultra capacitor. It'll store energy for your system. And keep your battery from dropping when bass hits! Some will say this is great option to get, if you're not ready for a alternator.
Ok so whats considered a big system?
When you start reaching over 2000 watts. That's when you need to start considering more power. Batteries, alternators, ofc wire. 👍

Great question! If you're just bumpin your system with the alternator running. Which alot of us do. I would recommend charging it a couple times a week. If you don't drive your car often. I would charge it once a week to keep healthy. If you drive it and it connected in parallel, you don't have to worry much about charging it. Just keep a eye on the voltage! 👍

Lol You should keep your stock battery and just get a secondary battery for the back. I would recommend xs battery D3400. It can be used as a secondary battery or replacement for your stock.

It's safe to run them both together. Now some lithium and agm batteries don't mix well with each other. But you should be good. I've been doing it for years without any problems! 👍

@@FJTabb if you want to run a isolator, you can. It's basically the users choice. I normally would run my xs battery under my hood. It works just as good. If not better than a normal battery. 👍

@@roseastackpapper if you wanna get windy! I suggest you play some lower hz. 18 to 25 hz should help. But it could mean you need bigger subs with a high excursion to to them. I hope that helps! 👍

Anyone use the batteries off Amazon the mighty max or weize or eco-worty ?? As secondary battery
I honestly couldn't even tell you, Ive used mighty Max for my lawnmower and I know it's a good battery.
@@ineedbass1 oh OK thanks for reply I seen a few and thy say rv battery and was gonna use them for secondary battery for more power thy have 100ah for 160$ so was thinking getting 2 for extra power for screens kids like to camp in truck (yukon xl ) I have a 320amp alt so was looking
@@JTLeyva if you're not using it for car audio with a powerful system. I wouldn't see why you couldn't. Honestly having these for a back up battery should be OK.
@@ineedbass1 I used to have a system m4b on 2hdc3 15s but sold it and now into camping and stuff with kids in the truck but try to make sure have enough power without the alt and wiring I do have going to waste, also have a Northstar battery the big blue one as secondary but was wanting more power so don't have to keep starting truck but thanks for all ur help

The xs power D3400 can definitely act as a car battery and a car audio battery. I've used it if for years that way! 👍

Really depends on your setup. I run a D3400 XS battery under my hood and two of them in the back. As far as your alternator, I would definitely get a mechman, their pretty pricey. But great alternators for car audio. 👍

U can run it on a stock everything and be just fine I don't have a big system but I have lights install etc
@@nicoledeidre36No I couldn't because my voltage was dropping & headlights were dimming.. I've upgraded to a yellowtop 34/78 so far, working on my alternator & secondary now.

@@ineedbass1 It is I'm like 1.8k in since 2021 and i still need every electrical upgrade lol, what you think i should do my case o definitely need big 3 and an extra battery, i have around 2k watts on speakers and 1.2k on subwoofers, it'd be better to put a battery on my subs right?
@@nick_sometin7791 you're definitely doing something there. I would definitely upgrade your alternator to a 250 amp. That should help you out there. I believe if installing more wattage, especially over 3000 watts. Your gonna start seeing a change in your electrical. Adding a battery will help you so far. Set a budget, for a new alternator. I'm pretty sure you can get one around $430... (I know, sounds insane) 😂 lol
@@ineedbass1 Man i went on js alternator website found the 250 amp alt is like 330 but the 350 amp alt is like 440 I'm like bro what 😭 I'll probably write it off on my taxes and the battery lol cuz i door dash and i can write them off, i plan on definitely getting a bigger subwoofer probably max 3k watts, definitely need to work more for all this, it's fr a pain 😭
