Yukon Sheep, Caribou, and Black Wolf Adventure - LARGEST CARIBOU TAKEN IN THE YUKON

- Strap in for this wild adventure! After getting a last minute call, Adam and Brenda Weatherby headed north to the Yukon Territories in search of Adam's first sheep in 7 years. After brutal terrain, wicked storms, and finding a legal ram, the focus shifted to Brenda and finding a caribou to tag. Not long after, the crew spotted a black wolf and within 6 seconds Adam was on the trigger, tagging his first black wolf. Brenda's caribou was the largest caribou taken in the Yukon last year scoring a 402 5/8 gross score.
Later that year, Brenda had a tag in her pocket for a DIY public land sheep hunt in Montana. Adam, Brenda, and their friend Mark Vomund took to the mountains of Montana and were able to get on rams on their first day.
The rifles used in this film were custom made for Wild Sheep Foundation. Both rifles were auctioned off at conservation banquets in order to raise money to put and keep sheep on the mountain.

Those are well documented incredible journeys. My hat's off to Brenda for taking on the Sheep mountains. Not many ladies are willing and able to endure those hardships.

First, as a fellow pilot, really enjoyed the AWOS and your plane. Hunted in the Yukon in 1988 and was lucky enough to harvest a nice ram. Great film, I could almost smell the air and feel the wet clothes. Rode horses across a river three times one day. Even though there was snow on the banks I was so scared I still don't remember being cold despite getting soaking wet with ice cold water. Fantastic video, great company.

Great Video, and I love my Weatherby 6.5 300.....but definitely not the biggest caribou taken in the Yukon, not even in that season, so a little miss leading on the title.... perhaps largest caribou taken by that outfit is more of an accurate title. But anyway keep up with the great videos
Actually, Brenda and Midnight Sun received an award for the largest caribou taken in the Yukon in 2023 from the Yukon Outfitters Association. True Story.

Nice hunts. 6.5 rpm is a good round. My question is, have you ever thought about making a double barrel SxS or a lever gun in 460 wetherby as a Alaska guide gun for dangerous game? The 460 wetherby is flatter shooting, heavier hitting and more accurate at greater range than the 45/70 government.
We've had a dangerous game model before but unfortunately there are no plans for a lever gun or a double barrel SxS.

The Montana hunt was filmed by Koby Owens on a Sony A7 R5 and Sony A7 Siii w/ multiple lenses. The Yukon portion was filmed by Luke Thorkildsen with a Canon R5 and R6 w/ multiple lenses as well as an Insta360 camera!

Correct! Luke used a Canon R5 and R6 on the Yukon hunt and Koby used a Sony A7 R5 and Sony A7 Siii on the Montana hunt.

Obviously, he owns Weatherby. His grandfather was a visionary. I, on the other hand, was a NYC civil slave. I've been to Africa a number of times. I've taken elephant and lots of plains game. ** It comes down to your priorities.

@jimwatts4901 - The Yukon is expensive, no argument there. Tags hard to get ? Oh no !! If you book your hunt, the outfitter will have your tags. ** Of course you don't have that game in Africa. And Africa is cheaper !! Seriously, it'll almost ruin you. If you check out even a TROPHY phronghorn hunt, which will be three days maximum costs more than a six day hunt in South Africa with 5 or 6 animals
@@jimwatts4901 I took a 500 dollar .300 Weatherby to Lake Clark, Alaska and worked for an outfitter that hunted brown bear on the peninsula. It was a two shot gun at most for the biggest animals.
