- 11 days. 51 miles on foot. 29,643 vertical feet. That's what it takes for Jason Hairston, Donald Trump Jr., and Brendan Burns to achieve their goals of hunting Stone sheep with Gundahoo River Outfitters in British Columbia. Climbing through visually stunning yet punishingly difficult terrain, Marathon of Dreams celebrates the challenges of hunting the mountain ranges of North America.
Awesome.. great to see Jr whom could financially afford to do anything test and punish himself in Gods bounty.. kudos and much respect. Great shooting to all..
RIP Jason! You revolutionized the gear Industry!
Wow. I just recently got around to watching the Joe Rogan Podcast he was on a few weeks ago. Seemed like a real great guy with everything going for him. Smart, athletic, motivated, handsome and business savvy. I saw your comment and was like, what does he mean RIP? Googled it. So sad.
hi.f.laik.your.suting
The camera work in this video is top notch!
I've watched this hunt five times now. I watch it with my three year old son and he just loves it. Thank you very much for sharing it with us. I thank Kuiu for an excellent product and everything you guys do for us hunters.
There is nothing easy about a sheep hunt like that- congrats to the hunters and thanks for bringing us along.
Its nice to know that Don Jr. is a respectful sportsman, and a hard core one at that! Don, Good shot sir....there are a lot of us out here wishing you and your family the best- we are with you!
The longterm effects of repeated head trauma from football and other contact sports is really devastating. RIP Jason Hairston.
why?
youtuber Repeated concussions can cause CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy) and lead to unexpected mood swings and depression, even to the point of suicide, as in this case. Many military veterans and professional contact sport athletes end up getting it to some degree. RIP Jason, your inspiration and drive to be successful lives on in all the lives you touched.
Breathtaking camera work. Great job to the whole team.
The greatest American Presidents were dedicated to our country and the preservation of its national treasures. I'm so thankful that Donald Trump Jr. has such a strong connection to the outdoors and can help our American President make sound decisions when it comes to wildlife, public lands, and the security of American citizens. Only fools leave their doors open for thieves to come in and steal; The Trumps are no fools. True Americans wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks Jason for showing the human side of such a prominent figure.

dudertube1 thank you. I realize there is a struggle between industry and conservation, but those wild places were protected for a reason.
R.I.P. Jason. I know as a fan I miss you and we never met. Keep looking down at your family and friends to keep them safe.
amazing
this is my style of hunting. nothing should come easy, and how much sweeter is the feeling knowing how hard you worked for it?!!?! Thank you for sharing and please keep doing what you're doing. Regards Jamie
What was all the fumbling around with the sheep still at 100yards only to then have to shoot him on the move?
white men can hunt stone sheep, this much is certain. BUT THEY STILL CAN'T FIST BUMP.... 13:44
5:44 fist pump😂 hardcore hunters right there.
A well earned trophy that any hunter would be proud of. Good to see Trump junior is interested in hunting and the production of a first class video with a top notch Outfitter.
Whenever I need motivation I watch this video! Stone sheep is my #1 bucket list. Beautiful country and animal!
Thanks for coming to BC and contributing to the conservation and protection of our sheep.
Explain how this group, Kuiu Hunting and Donald Jr contributed to the conservation and protection of British Columbia Stone Sheep. Donald Jr.'s Old Man signed the bill that allowed hunters to murder bear cubs in their dens in Alaska State, no doubt at the urging of the Junior.......I am sure Junior could have convinced his Old Man NOT to sign it if Junior wanted really to defend bear cubs.
@@corbenm418 ----Most of you trophy hunters think you are big real life warriors shooting unarmed animals, using spotting scopes, telescopic sights, and weapons that can kill at 500 yards or more. Now apparently you even like to kill them and even their babies by flushing them out of their dens. Total Little Complete Punks.
@@corbenm418 --- I am NOT totally anti-hunting. I am about 50-50. If hunting, even for trophies, is done ethically, responsibly, if conservation of the species and quick kills of the target is foremost, if the meat is eaten / donated, and if it is the "Hunt of a Lifetime" for the hunter with the rules of "fair chase" adhered to as defined by Teddy Roosevelt, then I can accept it. I trek and climb all over Western Canada and some in the USA, I am the first to admit that if I was born in some previous era, I would have to hunt to survive in the wilderness. That said, I do NOT consider the shooting of bear cubs or adult bears in their dens in Alaska to be "hunting" or "sport". I call it blatant animal murder. Simple as that.
@@corbenm418 ----And as far as me being a "keyboard warrior", you youngster, people like me through the power of the word have successfully banned the hunting of the Grizzly Bear in British Columbia and Alberta Provinces, Canada. The Grizzly is nearly extinct in the Continental USA when it once roamed from the Mexican border to the Canadian border, from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean. In Western Canada it is threatened, and people like me have no intention on allowing people like you to exterminate it here like you have done in 99% of the Western Continental USA. It took 100 years to eliminate the Grizzly there, it may take 100 years to bring it back, I suggest you hunters put your money and your efforts into bringing it back in some remote areas of the USA Mountain West - which do exist - and getting ranchers and townspeople on your side in the conservation of this species.
One hell of a fine ram!! Great footage could watch that bullet wash all the way in. Fantastic quality, this will be legendary one day!!
Keep Hunting Great!!!🦅 Congratulations on them beautiful tropheys!!! Great job guys!!!
Totally epic... Amazing filming... Great shots! Makes me miss the high country even more! Thanks for sharing this experience with us!
Canada is beautiful... too bad its Canada.
Seriously, it's a lost country.
Great and meaningful film and hunt in an amazing place on our planet. Take it for what it is , there is no need to look at it through a political lens. Very sorry to hear about the loss of Mr. Hairston.
That is some amazing country....I hope to someday hunt sheep....well done guys!
Great camera work and story telling. What an epic hunt. You guys are your own best promotion.
hats off
Our family friend Shane Dronett (lineman of the Falcons)
He had several concussions threw out his football career and also tragically took his own life. You can Google Shane's story and it may shed light on Jason and his career, No one knows what it brings in your life but apparently its not good. RIP Jason, you lived it large!
Cracked me up Paul Bride, Smoking after all that!!! Great hunt gentlemen. Thank you for sharing the experience as well.
Great video guys! It was a pleasure meeting all of you up there!
Anyone else catch the "super sonic" (not sure the right name for it) of that shot? It was amazing. I've only seen that when jet fighters zoom by 😂🤣😅. Phenomenal shot.
SO SAD TO HEAR OF JASON TAKING HIS OWN LIFE! EVEN WHEN SOMEONE SEEMS TO HAVE IT ALL, YOU NEVER KNOW THE DEMONS THEY FACE ALONE! :( RIP JASON, MAY THE LORD FORGIVE YOU!
RIP Jason!
Respect to all those involved. Special props to the camera crew. Top Notch work in difficult and unpredictable conditions.
Love how that gear looks and performs! Just wish i could afford it 😬
Great video!! And excellent camera work! Not a fan of the shot on the second ram, chasing a wounded sheep is nothing like chasing a wounded moose or elk, but, you got’m! Congrats x2! Can’t wait to be chasing BC stones this coming August :D
A little heavy on the slow-mo, dramatic music, and product placement, but I love sheep and sheep hunting.
Product placement? Oh. You figured out the subliminal messages about Pepsi, didn't you.
@@kuiuultralight butthurt.
Was that an Ultra 6500 Jason was using? I'm just wondering because I thought there was only an Ultra 6000
Good eye! The ULTRA 6000 is currently the largest pack in the ULTRA line--the one Jason is wearing in this film is a prototype ULTRA 6500 that he was field-testing. No word yet on whether it's going to be in the line.
Thanks for taking us along....
awesome video, a dream hunt, except for the part where you ruin your heart lungs and legs getting up there. that's hard hunting and great shooting.
Fantastic video guys! Definitely a bucket list item for me!
my respect for the cameraman!
DONNY BOY.dont come back too Canada, because we will make that experience a living HELL.this is not a threat, but a promise.
Shut your pie hole commie.
Great video good people good places and good times that's what it is all about.
The millionaires are about the only people that can afford to hunt sheep these days...
Thanks for the video. I really enjoyed it. It's top notch.
You guys worked hard for your rams, congrats. BC is the best. Just for the record though sheep can be hunted in jeans and plad shirts too
If you want to be miserable.
Sure proud of ya
One day.....👍🏻 awesome video! Rip Jason
How do you get the meat out? Or do you?
On their backs until they get back to the horses. Just like any other sheep hunt😁.
Why is there a bow in the thumbnail? It was a rifle hunt, right?
Great camo pattern. If your ever in fort nelson and need some advice holler at me
*you're
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice great video
It would be helpful if you listed the gear used in these videos. The toughest part about Kuiu is not being able to try it on and knowing which product to apply to the different seasons and conditions. Especially for beginner hunters.
Hey Aaron, we don't do gear lists in the films because two minutes of text kind of slows everything down :) However, we have a number of gear lists available for various kinds of hunts--call up our Customer Service team (855-367-5848), and they can get you a gear list or get you connected with Brendan, who is very meticulous about his own lists and is happy to share.
KUIU Ultralight Hunting sounds great, thank you!
Hi KUIU, havent experienced your gear at first hand, since I live in the far north of Sweden.
I’m impressed with your hunts, your gear looks amazing, and especially the amazing filmmaking!
Would it be possible for you to post a brief summary in text below the video, or maybe throw us a link to a page where you’ve summarized the set-up for the different specific hunts, would be great.
Do you have any retailers in Europe?
Keep up the amazing work!
Congratulations nice trophies🤨
Loved it Jason can only envy you with that sort of hunting on your back door.
Wow.... Simply just beautiful! Amazing film!
I hope guys that good meat doesn't go to waste 😊
brenden must be a cousin - good going - that much tougher with a bow
great photography too - here is where you earn it
RIP
Nice video and hunts. I knew Jason's ram was going run....way too much movement for sheep. Those suckers have insane vision and don't tolerate anything out of the normal. Congrats again!
Some awesome country....
Aren't you eating the sheeps? Only taking the trophies? .. They are going on a hunt and are out of food? OMG. In what kind of crazy world we live...
All the meat is carried out, by law--in this case, on the final day of the hunt, they ran out of the food they had packed in, and cooked the sheep meat to hold them over until the next day when they could be picked up to get back to base camp.
@@kuiuultralight Thanks for your detailed explanation. Would be interesting to see more about the meat processing and carriage etc.
Typically, we try to stay away from that on RUclips, given that it is necessarily a pretty bloody/gory endeavor. We definitely want to be clear that the meat is never left at the site of the kill, but if our videos get flagged and taken down for violent content, then there's no point. Thanks for asking!
Great video, kept them coming
ruclips.net/video/U_ZUIlULcGg/видео.html
Great filming only have one problem and I only say this because I know you are an absolute and dedicated sheep fanatic .so my brother, don't you think you should let the shooter touch him first, seems only fair to me.love your enthusiasm and also your stage presence .you represent your company products as convincing and professional, just like we like it down here in South West Louisiana. Keep 'em coming
Great footage! Makes me wanna go scrambling in the mountains...
More videos please! I’m loving my new Kuiu gear
Does this mean kuiu is associated or supports the Trump?
I'm sure they do. Who the hell do you support, sleepy sleezeball Brandon?
Male Bonding at its best! Dope Video!
Karl here in Denver. Beautiful experience, beautiful production. Well done all.
Thanks for watching, Karl!
Thats a long walk back
keep at it don jr defie the haters and keep on hunting
hunted dall in the wrangel mts of alaska - no horses
Thank you.
Amazing video, what an experience!
Ill vote for Don T. Jr. when he runs for prez........Simply because he knows the value of earning your meals.... Well done.
What caliber was Don using to take that sheep?
I don't have the info on what Don was shooting--Jason was shooting 7mm Magnum on a borrowed rifle (his 6.5 Creedmore got caught up in customs).
We miss you Jason
Awesome! Congratulation!
Jr.'s a decent shot.
Look like be hunted with a compound bow…why?
Brendan's goal was to complete his sheep grand slam with a bow (which he recently did). He's a compound archer, not a traditional archer--and taking a sheep with a traditional bow would be even more difficult.
@@kuiuultralight Sheep Grand Slam.Awesome,congratulations!
Gorgeous country, good rams and good on the hunters and the crew. I am glad the administration affiliates are for and not against hunting and trophy hunting in particular. However, as a veteran sheep hunter, I am sure the late JOC is trembling in his grave and cussing at himself for Romantasizing sheep hunting to such elevated levels where it has now become a rich man's sport. I suggest the viewers to read chapter 13 (The famous head hunters) of JOC's last book "Confessions of a gun writer".
Amen
What happened to all the wild sheep in the USA??? Hunted out?? Or to use a less politically correct term, massacred and slaughtered ??? Nothing wrong with the habitat, most of the USA mountain west is still pretty wild.
Awsome hunt!
Very Cool.
Wow! Very well done.
wow everytime I watch one of these videos it gets me more jacked up to go do one, i'm not sure when i will but i do know that one day I will climb a mountain and I will kill a stone sheep!
We 're rooting for you to go, Peter--thanks for watching!
thanks guys!! hopefully i can document my process as well. Did Jason fire both those shots at his ram?
Yes--he was high on the first shot, and missed, then repositioned and shot again.
wow unbelieveable to hit a moving target like he did!
Just make DAMN SURE you do it ethically and contribute to conservation in British Columbia AND elsewhere, otherwise don't come here.
My uncle got one about 10 years back. Won the tag in a lottery.
amazing
But what's wrong with tree stands.....
Nothing! It's just...challenging to set them up near sheep.
Because there are no trees at that elevation.....
Epic!
So So good guys I loved every minute. Thank you very much for sharing
AMAZING VIDEO !!!
Best film yet!
Awesome.
What guns and calibers were you using,
So cool hope I can do that one day
We hope so too--good luck, and call us if you need help with a gear list (our customer service reps have some that they can give you)!
I would be your wing man any day DJ. R.I.P JH.
It's not a sheep, it's a stone bighorn !
they are more beautiful alive than dead
Actually, Stone’s and Dall’s sheep are thinhorn sheep, not Bighorn sheep.
Awesome video. Congratulations! 👍👍
I would love to know how much they spent on gear
Not much at all since Jason (the primary Hunter, narrator and editor of this video) was the founder and president of KUIU - top shelf mountain hunting apparel.
@@johnbruder4055 not even a 1/10th of what a Stone Sheep hunt costs NOW! tag - $10,000.00 (State or Province), + $10,000 for the hunt (Outfitter), + $10,000.00 for the kill (Outfitter), + tips to the guides (average of 20% = $2,000.00 - $4,000.00), + Air fare $750.00 - $1000.00 (EST.) = FOR A TOTAL OF BETWEEN $35,000.00 -$50,000.00!!!
@@MrMITCHELL959 As a resident of BC I just have to pay $60 for a tag and then get myself out to the mountains...
Unbelievable rugged terrain to navigate great job all !
I think its funny how he was whispering with a ram 530 yards away, anyways, this was actually a pretty good film
Thanks for watching, Andrew! They whisper because (a) sound carries in surprising ways in the open mountains and (b) in case there are any nearby sheep they're not aware of, they don't want to spook those ones and scare off the ram.
Sweetness!
Amazing hunt! Whats rifle?
Closest thing to mountaineering.
