I was a helper in a group of 40 hunters one wintery day on a big gate hunt in 1983. The hunt was a success. Everybody got at least one hare and some ducks. It lasted all day and it was a lot of walking. I was dodging lead shot too!

In the U.K. hares are down by 97% since 1950. I know landowners who allow rabbit hunting but totally prohibit hare shooting. Sustainablilty is priority

Many factors for there uk decline since that date, hunting them is almost an insignificant factor, throwing a fact out with no thought to why beyond the usual hunting remark. There was a reason coursing worked, selective harvest.

Hare shooting is a very challenging and enjoyable pursuit. It’s nice to see Rob from Moroka 30 involved in such a great shoot flying the Aussie flag. Its grouse(good) to see that us Aussies and the Poms carry over our competitive nature from the 🏏 field to the hunting field. My mother cooks up a mean feast of hare, duck, pork fat in a chilli sauce with an Italian flavour over a lovely polenta that melts in your mouth. Thanks Fieldsports Channel for another fantastic presentation. Cheers, Rob from “Downunder”.

Hi people I'm from the UK. I hunt rabbits mostly with dogs and ferret. But I also like to fish and shoot . My videos are action packed and too good to miss. Honestly. Take a look. Subscribe to show your support as I want to take my channel to the next level in 2020. I want to fish more, shoot more, camp out more, do lots more cooking to get my kids eating more wild meat.

I'm completely fine with hunting for food. I would pull the trigger myself and I'm not a snowflake. Hunting for sport though makes me upset. Hunting Hares to me feels different to rabbit shooting. They definitely aren't in the same numbers as rabbits. Where I live I rarely see Hares anymore and wouldnt dream of shooting one because they have become so rare. I understand the argument here, is that the island has a good hare population but for me that's an isolated case and still doesn't change the fact these guys are blood thirsty. Yes, enjoy the thrill of stalking and hunting an animal in small quantities and eat it, don't take pleasure in the death but being in the wild and seeing their beauty and making food with a low carbon footprint. Don't get together in packs and outnumber them and make fun of it. Respect their lives.

I absolutely love hunting but not like this. It's not sporting, population control isn't on a farm bases it's on a general population bases. These hares could restock area were hares are struggling in the UK. If this was conservation you wouldn't shoot every hare. The stronger hares in the population would be aloud to run. Hunters have a responsibility to conserve a healthy population and I don't see it on these hunts at all. Sorry it's a desrace and only to make money. Not to control the hare. No I am not anti hunt just a true hunter who as released hares in area's from snares while snaring rabbit's. A true hunter respects the wild area they are a part of. They don't shoot everything that runs in front of the gun.

@@michielstevens5011 I am English and the rough shooter can't shot in England no more. Big shoots buy shooting rights so the poor man can't shot the land. I started shooting over 20yr ago as a poacher. Got a little permission later ect but can't now. Farmers only want syndicate shoots ect on their land. Poor kids can't get into shooting so poach as I did which gets their first hunting dogs shot ect. That leads to them taking revenge killing livestock, destroying property, ect. It's just a big joke of a situation right now here in the UK.

Although I dont think I would enjoy cleaning all those rabbits but it would deffinately be put to good use here. Id would thoroughly enjoy plenty rabbit hearts, lives, and many soups, stews, roasted, and fried rabbits for days. Great video.
