Hello master, I used classic shotgun and s.poze for a long time, and now I bought a y.automatic shotgun. It has a 12 diameter and a barrel chamber of 76mm. I went to the hunting dealer to buy 76mm cartridges for this rifle. I explained the situation. He said there is no 76mm cartridge. You can use 70mm cartridges. I was confused and said 70mm cartridges. I did not buy it and I am researching to see what is the truth and I want to ask you, my masters, the truth of the matter. Now my question is this: If you are using an automatic rifle, will the 70mm cartridge damage the 76mm chamber set of the barrel or not? Or, is steel shot or lead shot used? What are the details? I would be very grateful if you could answer me. I have not fired any cartridges in the rifle yet. I am waiting for this answer. Thank you very much in advance. Best regards.
I do not know your name, that’s why i call mr. fieldsports with speed. i am curious what you have picked up at the end of the day ? I can not imagine that it was close to the 219 you showed us on your clicker. I did not see a dog either ? I am a very keen pigeon shooter myself but i only count the birds i collect. But before i go any further please let me know what your final pick up was ? Best regards Mdk
My name is Rob it says so on my page’s description. We picked up 173 birds which have all gone into the food chain. I understand that we didn’t pick all of them but there is an element of doing more damage to the crop than the pigeons by us walking through it to find all of them. The reason we didn’t have a dog with us is because I will never put my dogs through standing barley as it will do them more harm than good. It’s not ideal shooting on standing crop but if we didn’t do the job, someone else would. Sorry if you don’t agree with my choices. All the best, Rob
Hi rob, thanks for the prompt and honest reply. You have done better with your pickup than i thought you would have done. But still 46 left behind is not nesecerry. If you would have restrickted yourself to shoot as much as possible in the laid bits and Go out every time to pick the shot one’s you would have probably finshed up with 150 with maybe only 5 not been able to find. The crop protection to the farmer would have the same. Bear in mind that the woody is the last wild gamebird we have in this country of which we can shoot 40 or 50 per day per person without doing damage to the population.
Looks a hell of a day that, love shooting over laid barley……they always seem to decoy so well over it! Biggest pain in the arse as you know is picking them though 😂
I love your slow motion shots where you smoke them in mid air!
Thanks Bob! I’ll try and get some more on the next outing 👍
