Does the dragging out of vowels sounds such as "we're gonna put ooooooooooooooonnnne right heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere" at 28:40 activate anyone elses misophonia? The content is great and it doesn't stop me watching, I was just curious as no one else seems to mention it, but it's very prominent to me.
On the topic of something like research costing unity “because some people don’t like change”, you would do well to acknowledge that change is not intrinsically positive or negative but rather the result or impact of the change later defines the change having been positive or negative. Meaning that while you’re in the process of changing something it is not yet established that it will be positive, so changing something is a risk and people realize that it could go wrongly so a sense of uncertainty is warranted until the result proves to have been positive. Edit: I expect that as you progress the game, unity will be acquired at a faster rate reflecting the positive direction of your command. Whereas if you changed the natural sea barrier by breaching it and flooding your town, you would loose unity, reflecting the negative impact or “mistake.”

When I go to build the blast furnance, it only does 8 iron. Why is yours showing 24? I looked thru the updates but I don't see any changes have been made.
Great video. I would like to point out an issue with your audio if you don't mind. Whenever you speak the background music/sound dips in volume. I think this is a good idea, but your current settings for this are too harsh. It is very distracting to hear music volumes jumping way up and way down within milliseconds of every spoken word. It is especially bad whenever you talk really fast, because in between quickly spoken words your music volume will skyrocket and plummet. I don't know what you are using for this effect but its settings could use some lowering. You could also lower the music volume altogether. This will prevent the sudden music volume spike mid fast paced sentence. Thank you for your work on this video. It is very entertaining and informative.

Patreon does include not a blueprint, but save games, which you could use to make your own blueprints!
I was gonna follow along with your let's play series, but when I went to select a new game, there is no Crater Map. EDIT: Just found out that the Crater Map is in the Supporter Pack DLC. That sucks !! I really wish you had started on a map that anyone can play on JD. This game is really hard to learn, and even harder to master, especially in the mid to late game. The in-game tutorials help a bit, but I really need to see, and be able to follow along with a detailed beginners Getting started Let's Play series which is something that has been really lacking since the game was released.
Good news is this isn't the first time he's played this series! While it's not 1.0 the other series would be good for beginner/mid game for the most part. If you watched that you'd have a good idea how to play and he plays on a standard map

@@JDPlays Thank's for the link to your original series. I will watch it and see if I can figure it out. My main problem is, is that so much has changed with the game over the past few updates. I tried playing the Insula Mortis map, and at first everything was going really well, then things just suddenly spiralled into disaster. Running out of dirt, running out of bricks, which led to running out of components, etc, etc. I'll keep at it though, and try to learn.
@Tim Thank's for your words of encouragement Tim. I almost got up to using Blueprints just before my last game spiralled into the pit of doom, but I will keep trying. I really love this game, and desperately want to learn how to play it well.
Not yet, there is my Blueprint Data file on Discord which was the early attempt at making blueprints, but they were never finalised and shared as blueprint strings. You can download the data file, backup your own, insert mine grab all the strings out, and then put your blueprint data file back in to then shove all JD strings into it. But like i said they were never finalised previously. I will be making a final version in the coming weeks
@@howdj I get the rudimentary start as a mechanic, lol. The backstory/lore is what's strange. Especially when you proceed to outfit your ship as a battleship and start fighting pirates... Not complaining. Just noting that it's strange.
@@yarnosh The world flooded because on JD's last playthru he processed all the oil in the world into sour water, and rather then converting it into something useful like fertiliser he dumped it into the sea which flooded the all the lands! You were part of the last remaining colonists of 90 who bored the ship and escaped into the sea looking for any land mass sticking up from the great blue beyond. Due to the months at sea eating nothing but potato's and breathing in the fumes of the sour water seas everyone forgot everything except how to drive a truck and a diggy boy! Once arriving upon the new sunken island the crater, the captain who being at the highest point on the ship was also the highest on sour water fumes crashed the ship into the docks damaging both the dock along with the ship! but on the bright side all the shipping containers where 'unloaded' in the crash and have been setup as temporary housing..... that people are still living in 5 Generations later! Back story enough?
I'm sure I answered this but yet I dont find my reply. Restarting steam fixes this issue, often when new games drop a update steam doesnt auto update and restarting it forces it to do a check

@@JDPlays Thank you for the suggestion! i figured it finally, downgrade to the pre release set the gui back to 100 then upgrade to the latest, click "dont show me this again" on the patch notes and then only reset it back to 130 max on the gui after you have gotten into your game. theres probably a better way of going about this but my peanut brain aint there 🙂
@@kalebsut Its probably something that was overlooked when those of us were 'bug testing' as the patch notes aren't included when we are testing, they only go into the final release

Good episode. You may want to edit your audio before uploading videos, however; hearing your gasps for air every sentence does get a bit annoying at times.
You and every other creator seem to just use hotkeys without talking about them at all, leaving people who have literally never played the game guessing as to what you're doing.
@docogg50 yeah, that works for things with icons. I've watched a bunch of "beginner tutorials" and they do the same thing, just gloss over the hotkeys.

Do you ahve a video showing what hotkeys/shortcut keys you changed? I feel like I've seen some of your videos like you aren't using the defaults?
i used the keyboard shortcuts to copy and planning and so on, cause at first i thought they forgot it till i seen it in the research tree
It was a last second update which was pushed in the last 12h before final release

Turn on show all recipes in a per 60s format, its a toggle on any building and sets it like that for all buildings it makes life SO much easier!

Most of the hotkeys appear when you mouse over the icon. Tab for the exploration map, c, x, and v for copy, cut and paste, etc
