I watched this video for the first time today. You did a great job. I am considering buying a Senton and I have watched four videos including this one and this is the best. I think the side-by-side comparison gives me excellent information. Have watch the crazy drivers in my local 4WD SCT class most of them could use TSM or AVC. One local indoor track a few years ago had to but up a plexiglass shield around the outer walls. Because they were leaving the track and flying into the pits. The owner finally said that's it. No more indoor class for 4WD SCT. It scares me to death when you see little kids watching these trucks runs and their parents let them stand next to the track. Thanks a lot. Keep up the good work.
I love the senton it an amazing car. The senton handles way better with a little bigger tires, the wider the better I've found out. The granite tires are perfect.
Favor and peace be increased to you all. Just got my slash 4x4 brushless last week and waiting on 3s lipos this week to run it for the first time. Already ordered a senton 4x4 brushless that should be here next week. Can't wait to run them both!
The Arma stuff is always faster but the second function isn't very good. The traxxas stuff while slower, the tsm gives you more confidence while driving. Both are fun to drive, but I chose traxxas for my family mainly because of availability.
I just bought 2 gt5’s plus about a half dozen extra receivers, I’m getting sick of lugging around a ton of rtr remotes that suck, plus I figured the gyro would even the playing f9eld between my models. Haven’t started converting anything yet, just got them in, but really excited to have everything work off one remote
My nephew has the hoss its junk i hope you have better luck with yours i have the maxx aka mini max lol but ita worth the price diffrence 100%i absolutely love it im running a 4s lipo 51 mph out of the box i havent had anything break yet
Thanks for showing us and sharing all the great information Mark. I like the Arrma Senton and the Slash. Both are pretty freaking cool RCs. Appreciate it my friend. 👍
I have the BLX 4x4 3s and riding on the Slash 4x4 tires on. The Traxxas tires have better grip and have lasted longer. The stock Senton tires wear out QUICK! Also, within the first 2 weeks, I blown out 5 tires. I decided to spend a little more and bought the Traxxas Slash tires. Best investment
Awesome comparison also I love my monster arrma senton it's super modded out with RUclips's first glow wheelies running the 14 mm six pack MT by Duratrax what a boss
Still need to try changing the tires, that alone is day and night. Love my Senton and out of the box, there's definitely a few cheap improvements to be made, but it's such a great car. Hopefully the v4 will fix these simple issues. This was a great comparison. Take them to the track next!
Hello. I made my senton 3s into senton 6s with a hobbywing 150amp esc and hw motor. Took it off my redcat kaiju. What it did is give me over an hr of run time and a lil bit more to work with on the throttle. It an amazing truck. One thing ive had issues with is the plastic driveshaft though.
What if you dial the punch back on the Senton so that it's as slow as the Slash? Edit: The Slash seems to have a lot less power just based on the lack of wheelies.
If you drop the punch setting of the Senton down to 1, it will still break 50 mph. I found that out of curiosity on my channel. But I feel the difference in this case might be the slipper clutch settings. The slash isn't quite as fast as far as top speed out of the box, but is every bit as powerful as the Senton. The Traxxas VXL systems are really good.
I have the slash 4x4 ultimate. average top speed is between 50 and 55 on packed dirt. not sure if the ultimate comes with a higher gear out of the box. I haven't put the speed gear on. doesn't seem worth it to burn out the motor for 15 more mph.
Shock tower placement could be a factor also. Not sure how they differ from the box. When I take my Slash Ultimate to the carpet track I switch my shock tower placement big time in comparison to bashing.
Nice been waiting for this video. I own the Senton BLX but I'm waiting for spring to bash it. After seeing this I'm thinking of maybe getting a spoiler to help keep it on the ground and stable
nice reveiw mark i personaly have the redcat sc10 pro upgraded and i was having the same issues till i put a stabilizer in mine and boy what a difference. thanks for the good video see you in the next one.
I put a gyro with the flysky gt5 on the Kraton 4-s. It’s way easier to drive. Plus traxxas esc don’t have as much punch in their esc. I like the punch in the arma for flips. I like the linear punch in the traxxas for control in racing.
Great video Mark, as always. You should have speed tested the Senton with the TSM activated though, to see if that has an impact on top speed. Plus 50c vs 25c might also have an impact on performance. I think it would be fair to run both cars on the same batteries, even if you have to use adapters.
Agreed it would be another good comparison with the same battery C rating. Mark said in the video that the two batteries used are "what the manufacturers make" in 5000mah. 25c vs 50c is a significant difference.
@@Ronnaferd Thirding this. I actually used to race 4WD SCTs. I had (technically, still have) a Losi TEN-SCTE kitted out with a Novak Havoc 550 motor and Tekin RX8 ESC. It wouldn't even run on a 25C battery, it would just keep browning out. Had to bump up to 50C just to get it to run.
I just checked, and as I thought the Slash has a longer wheelbase, over 1 inch longer. I think that might be really helping you keep the front end down with the Slash while doing your speed runs. Also that extra 5 mph didn't seem to help either, Senton kept wanting to wheelie around 45mph.
@@Enduroger Ok, so I just checked again and you're right, the wheelbase is actually the same. However, the Slash overall is about 10mm longer. I guess I saw the length. The funny thing is, the diagram Traxxas shows is actually wrong, it says 568mm/23.36in but it's actually 22.36in, not quite half an inch longer than the Senton. That does still put more weight further in front of the rear axle though which accomplishes the same goal of keeping the front end on the ground. Very interesting.
To fix the Arrma's stability issue you need to do two things besides mess with the stability management, replace the servo with a digital one, and ditch the controller. I know you have better transmitters, use one of them as the one the Arrma comes with is complete and utter garbage, just read the forums, use the FlySky that you use for your Mini Z's, it's what I use with mine, as well as my Traxxas Slash Ultimate and it's brilliant. For the servo, try a JX Ecoboost CLS6336HV 36KG, they're only 30 bucks on Bangood and THEY ARE AWESOME, so much that I've replaced all of my 1:10 trucks with one..
