- So we got even more Street Fighter 6 balance changes to preview thanks to the real life battle hub event held in Japan. We covered some(linked below) and now a few days have passed and there is even more to look at, so lets dig in!

So as a direct followup from the previous video now that a few days have gone by, we now know even more balance changes for the upcoming Season 2 of Street Fighter 6 launching later this month. Like before this all comes from the real life battle hub event in japan and this is all trickle-down info, but well... better than the zero patch notes we have right now lol. So until we get the full patch notes lets scrounge and dig up what we can and imagine a brighter future!
FYI Capcom has stated several times that the build they had on site is an early build of Season 2 with changes that might not even be in the final patch

They FIXED JURI DIVEKICK?? Finally bro, that thing has been driving me crazy in matches
Juri changes feel more like bug fixes, honestly. The divekick follow up wiffing ALWAYS frustrated me.
Apparently Lily is getting some buffs. But Jamie, Ryu, and Kimberly seem to be getting a lot of good changes
I don't play her much, but I'm genuinely curious about how Manon will be handled in Season 2...
As a kim player, you half dont know how good dp into OD grab will be.
This is big and welcome buff.
I remember trying this in the beta and was sad that it didn't work.
As a Luke/Juri main with a Kim player friend/rival I do. I'm in pain just reading it.
Dude seriously. Having easier access/more combo routes into OD air grab means that the additional layers of offense she gets in the corner (safejump setups, j.hk reset into low/overhead/throw/shimmy RPS, spraycan setups, Drive Impact reset) will now be a consistent mid screen threat. Kimberly players are gonna be pulling off all sorts of crazy tech with this change. I’m so hyped for this patch!
Lily mostly needed quality of life fixes basically. Like, she loses damage with OD + Windclad over regular Windclad in some situations, etc.
I'm happy Kimberly is getting some neat things, now only to pray for Manon and Zangief

Juri’s kind of mid? I’d argue that with the current buffs and rumored changes in season 2 ryu>juri. She’s never left top 10 but she’s been out of most everyone’s top 5 for ages.

@@byakuyatogami1859 Juri has been consistently winning tournaments or at the very least top 3. Shes at least the 3rd best character in the game behind Ken and Luke.
@@Chaogod1233 she gets out performed by chun who’s currently most pros top 1, ken and Luke and deejay are better and have superior matchup spreads. Jp pre recent nerds was better. Guile has a great matchup against her. Blanka is way better. Look into what people have been saying juri hasn’t been top 5 for a long time. And she’s widely considered bottom of top 10 the meta has changed.

Being only able to use regular airgrab instead of OB grab after heavy vagabond edge was beyond annoying. I am glad that is getting fixed. As is the lack of a true reversal for her.

as a dhalsim player, all i needed was the drive reversal buff :) but invincible SA1 would be sooo nice, that's what i'm hoping for

As a kimberly main that heavy punch quarter circle forward into ex grab is much appreciated because it felt like her combos were meant to connect more, but they limited it for the sake of other characters? If that makes any sense

Good to see Juri getting some fixes. Hope to see more of that. She can definitely use the buffs. Shes been struggling more than people realize. She isnt quite the top tier fighter players thought she was.
Man now I'ma be praying the whole time they return Kim's DP but I'm not holding my breath.

5:36 she could already combo this but I'm glad they added an actual cancel window. Before they'd just be combo'd so high up, the recovery would end and you'd have 9 frames extra for it to connect.

ive only ever been asked once and I did it for a pre-covid era canadian event. Other than that nobody has ever reached out or asked.

Marisa's charge HP buff probably much more then just +7 on hit. Its can be MP buff with 6f startup. New 6f punish and compensate for DR -6 on block instead of -8.

Even if she doesn't end up getting massively powered up I hope she does get some sauce, which I think she's lacking hard right now. Here's hoping they share some of it with Manon too!

I haven’t played SF6 since like October but JP is one of the coolest characters I’ve ever played as in any fighting game. I know everyone hates him but his kit is genuinely cool and hopefully they figure out how to balance him without ruining him. SF6 is my first SF game since actually learning how to play fighting games and I was able to get most characters I played to diamond.(JP, Manon, Jaime, Ken, and Luke). Btw, I know diamond isn’t good lol. It’s more to point out that SF6 was a fairly easy pick up and I was able to compete with most players. I wanna get back into SF6 eventually and I hope this big patch benefits the game.
I'm assuming the marisa charge heavy punch buff is for stun combos.

Lily main here, the buff to her SA1 is so so hype. I can't wait to see what she can do now. Also the combo from 5mk or 8mk to EXcondorwind sounds juicy to whiff punish or drive rush and poke.
I hope they fix the taunts. There is no way currently to stop the taunt while in animation...smh. If memory serves, this was possible in the other SF games. And instead of taunts they should make them emotes like in other game genres. I saw a Reddit post on this and I think it's a great idea.

What a great way to start the day. And honestly i have a minor hot take about SF6 but im sure the sentiment is shared by some people: i think its taken too long to balance the game, i doubt a massive resurgence will happen here but id love it. Going into lobbies, all of them maybe have 15 people or less nowadays

they buffed Juri and Marisa and not Manon, they are insane.
The dudes balancing sf are also testers for some of the craziest synthetic kush out there, been that way since sf v
The juri buffs atleast are just QOL changes though, wont have much tier impact. She’ll still be a hella good character but shes not gonna move up or down in tier just because of that. I know people like to throw around the word top tier for anybody who’s on the upper half of the cast tier list but she actually does have some harder match ups and some characters are just better than her, like Luke, Ken, Dee Jay, Chun, JP, Guile, Cammy, Blanka in season 1. My guess is they realized shes in a good spot. Id say They also realized Marissa is also overall in a solid spot but could use some smaller changes to help bring her up and decided fuck it, especially since safe and wake up vreversal will be a thing, they wanna make sure if its harder to hit them, that its even scarier to get hit by marisa. Do i think its the right call? Idk. But i can see the vision whether its right or wrong

Kim main here and no way Kimberly would get frame 1 invincible OD Bushin Kick and ground OD Bushin Kick into lv2. Those de-confirm each other, cause letting a true reversal combo into super would be massively strong. It’s one or the other and I personally believe the lv2 combo is the more plausible change. They seem to want to give Kimberly higher damage output without undercutting her install mechanic and better combo routes helps that while Drive Reversal buffs bandage her weak defense.
Tbf… I don’t want to call it season two more like the season 1 finale. Season 2 is when they reveal a new dlc set imo.

Honestly just sad that Lily isn't getting a more expansive reworking of her windstock system in general. Waited 1 year fantasizing about all the ways they could make her more fun and engaging and now finding out we're just gonna get a few general changes is just sad. I'm glad she is getting positive changes but man...

I want Quadriga to crush sweeps. Marisa is physically off the ground, why does she get knocked down when a sweep goes under her foot? Conversely, why does Juri's 2MP connect when her hand is clearly six inches away from my body?
