Each episode I'm reminded that Dr. Carr grew up in SOMEBODY'S CHURCH!!! LOL He knows all the throwbacks. Shoutout to the great institution, the Black Church, for all the good things that it's given us. While it's not perfect, it's given us so much.

I remember seeing the picture of Emmett Till in the Jet Magazine. I was 6 years old. All I could ask was “What did he do?” I remember some of the adults loudly wailing and so I cried too.

Is there any way Emmitt's murder is connected to his father's situation? Whenever I hear the story of these lynchings, it reminds me of an attempt murder with an police sanctioned attack on three of my friends and I. In Clemson, SC we were on the football team. And a police officer set us to go to a clan rally in the next town over. The four of us get jumped by 20-30 people. And they have weapons one of my teammates gets hit I've the head and back with an axe handle. It drops him and he's temporarily paralyzed. I have to carry him out through the attacking clan. Another gets burned with a platter of hit grits and breakfast food. I had to go back in this diner three times to get my boys out. The whole time getting called everything in the book. They were stabbing us with table silver ware, getting guns out of the pick up trucks. This was was a brutal fight for our lives for 30 minutes that we escaped from. No police showed up to help us. When we finally get away we went back to the huddle house were the police officer had originally set us up at back in Clemson. And the entire department was outside waiting on us. I told them that I knew they set us up and that I was going to get justice. We went back to campus all battered and bruised. We had to explain what happen to my teammate who was temporarily paralyzed. So when I explained every to the detailed very end to the head coach, he swept everything under the rug like nothing ever happened. They told the scouts not to draft me to prevent me from having an audience and a large platform to tell that story. We've never been able to tell that story. And we never received any justice. There's more to the story of course, I didn't want to write a novel here. By the way my uncle is Harry Briggs from the Briggs vs Elliott desegregation case in Summerton, SC. This case is the initial case that's eventually leads to Brown vs board of education. And I'm the first graduate of Clemson's Pan African Studies major.

I am 67 years old and have been informed and enjoyed every class with the both of you. I had the privilege of talking to ny great Uncle before he transition and I shared his story with my family. My grandparents are from Brookhaven, Mississippi when Emit Till was murdered, I heard this story from the Pastor at my gra smothers funeral. That when they murdered him the knight riders were out and the women hide their husbands to keep them safe. Most worked at the brick yard and Friday was pay day but they had to keep the men hidden and my grandmother Maude Newton went out and collected the pay checks and gave the checks to all the men's family that worked at the brick yard. At her going away service the Pastor said thank you. I learned this at my grandmother funeral

Rarely do we sit in this place for a length of time, it is so hard to bear. I see it in my mind's eye right now because it is me, it is my son, because it is my daughter and my husband and my family, any and all of us. I broke down sobbing several times during today's lessons. I admit to fear of conflict and pain and dying, but I will stand and hold and fight shoulder to shoulder with my people to be free. We must all.

Greetings good afternoon Prof Hunter and Dr. Carr. Oh my as we are having the commemoration of Emmitt Till and Nat Tuner Black August is taking on me on other paths for finding our revolutionaries. Geroge Jackosn last week. The March on Washington. Having a special moment of reflection, seeing that Ebony magazine cover in my memory like it was yesterday. Listened to Emmitt's cousin tell is part of the story. Listening to Mammie Till Mosbley tell her truth, oh my goodness now finding out that his empty casket was in a pile in the back of the cemetery, but, found and bought to DC where it can be held in reverence to us who can recall or passing on the truth to our youth who MUST know from whist they came. Give thanks for ending this month with these two in particular. "It ain't over til we win.

Thanks for a powerfully video Ms. Hunter, great lesson Dr. Carr. The Emmett Till’s story is one of the most egregious aspect of American History. Even more appalling he never received justice. Growing up my great-grand mother painfully spoke of Emmet Till being murdered for whistling at a White woman . It would be years later before I would understand her pain . Her twenty-four old son my grand uncle killed two decades earlier , his death bore similarities to Emmett Till’s death. It was a story I learned early on not to talk about. My great-grander mother never discussed his death no family did. Occasionally. rumors of what happened would surface. My great grandmother died some forty years later so did much of this family secrets . 2020 some eighty-five years later I was able to obtain a few newspapers clipping on this matter. I have always wounder how many stories are there of Emmet Till, George Stinney, Trevon Martin, Michael Brown & the list goes on Thank again for a great video

Time should be up on the ‘death bed confessions’. George Wallace, Lee Atwater and many others have this sense of enlightenment on their death bed; when are people going to take heed. The woman that lied on emmit is of the group that should know better; I would give no quarter to her, but that’s my opinion

      Confession!

Aloha, peace and blessing Professor Hunter Dr. Carr and Congratulations on the launching of. "Knubia"! Ase Ase Ase
Dr Carr had me mesmerized yet once again by his pure genius AND vocal abilities... You may soon have to add a Dr Carr's greatest hits category in Knarrative...
On another "note", It's always sad hearing about the many atrocities that have happened to Black folks in this country...
"Its amazing why we keep loving this country and this country does not love us back" Doc Rivers. Smh
Sending lots of love and light your way!!! Ase Ase Aseo

Across the penitentiaries in NYS, Brothas' recognize Comrade George and the Brothas' of the Attica Riots of '71 during "Black August" -the latter [S]acrificed to have better prison conditions-by not eating ANY meals during these important days.
Prof. Carr, Thank You for making all these significant historical connections by highlighting the contributions of these Revolutionaries which therefore extend across various timelines! RASpeck.

How Bryant was freely walking around and how that grocery store stood are governance questions that are baffling. I won’t judge the people because it’s easy (and usually a lie) to say what you would have done if you were there. That being said, wow…
