When the R211s come into service,I don’t want the R46s/44s to not only get replaced, but replaced with respect, respect for one of the only subway cars to be 75 foot in length, and serve our city with pride since the 70s
u are speaking so much truth mg. out of all the comments ive seen about the 46s, this one tops it all. these cars are under appreciated and i hope more ppl realize that these are great subway cars by the time their end comes near.
lol just wait until they're in passenger service. They'll deteriorate quickly. They should just put these on the N and Q. Pitkin won't take care of them

I don't know I kinda have a love hate relationship for this train. 1. The windows are way too small. 2. The straight seating not everyone wants to stare in the face of your fellow passengers for and hour or minute's many of us prefer the seating on the style on the r44 and 46es the window seat is the best R.I.P . 3. Its time for a whole new different style of subway trains something New Yorkers never seen before like in other others city like the DC metro big windows plenty of seating without compromising control person space and style. Now the good thing about is the interior bright blue and yellow wider door unfortunately killed the window size (HURT). The front is something different I like the it has the big old school color letter scroll back instead of that horrible red at the top and the destination on top very useful and can't wait for the gangway that I am for. Let's see maybe one day the MTA will redesign the subway car.
Why’d they stop making the commuter rail and subway rolling stock look alike? Hopefully they can keep the tradition alive with future rolling stock orders!

YESSIR! LIRR is more known for the motto "We serve with pride", give that to the 44/46's. Soon then, the 62/A's and the 68/A's are all we have left.

Which is why I want the R268 to be made. 75 foot cars that are reminiscent of R68s but made in the form of R211s

Glad the MTA is meticulous about testing new cars. The tracks near Broad Channel are ideal for testing.

Just saw one of these on the Highway going south on I-71 Between Columbus and Mansfield. Didn't have time to get a picture.
Look like R211 will come in by this summer if anything goes well
Super cool to see R42s next to R46s, ngl

I don’t want to say goodbye to the R46s. First the R42, then the R32. Now this. We’re losing icons. ( Honestly, these trains do look pretty awesome.)

huh never seen a 6 car R46 before
Thats the R211 Protection train.
That’s because the R46s are in both four-car consists and married pairs.
The r179 and r211 are like the r46 and r68 in terms of similar yet different (face lift with some interior changes)

Small windows equal stronger trains, bigger windows make trains weaker. To much stinking glass is weak.
@@ThevaTharumu I'm already aware of that. My problem is some of ya'll want to much glass, especially on a big vehicle, that is ridiculous
