I enjoyed seeing your WIPs. I have a lot, several biggies but most medium to small, that i started a couple years ago. For the past six months I have really buckled down and have been trying to finish things as it’s making a mess out of my sewing room. My hubby is prior military and a neat-nik so I try to keep my living room and stitching spot neat and tidy. I didn’t realize I had so many items upstairs waiting to be fully finished-it mainly happened when the holidays hit last fall. I have been catching up with finishing things in 2024 but still have 6 things waiting. ugh! I bought the same geranium patriotic wool kit from Primitive Gatherings last August. I want to start mine soon to possibly have it done this summer. I don’t remember what my plans were for the background fabric. Am anxious to see you start yours! 😁🧵🪡✂️ My friend (Brenda Holsman) stitched those Christmas strawberries for her grandchildren several years ago and they are darling! They are probably on her IG page.
❤ the wine dying fabric idea. We were gifted a bunch of Wine Country red for 🎄I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. 🤮 Life is too short for bad wine & stitching pieces you have lost interest in. Dear Barb, thank you for spreading sunshine in the world w/your videos.
Thanks for another enjoyable visit with you, Barb. That is some beautiful snow you got! I love hunkering down in winter for stitching😊. I'm one of those who never gets around to finishing my stitched pieces, but I appreciate the encouragement you gave us to try to get our stitching on display. I know it's what my final intention for a piece is when I begin stitching it. I'm glad to hear that finishing kind of grew on you after a while...maybe it will for me too. I've been collecting not only finishing pieces and tools these past few years, but also finishing ideas from flosstubers such as yourself who are kind enough to share their tips and tricks😊. I think I'm ready to try to make a dent in the FO pile this year 😂 Stay warm and happy stitching!
When I first had all mine, and lots of Leanne’s to do, I kind of categorized them into things I knew what I was going to with, and those I had no idea about. It was easier to clear out some of the backlog that way. I made a point of finishing my current stuff when the stitching was complete and within a year I was a lot more caught up. You just have to start and make it happen. Good luck!
So many great projects! I hate to feel stressed or pressured to get all things done, I want to always enjoy the process. I understand the folks that have stitching plans and schedules, but that’s just not me. The fabrics you’ve chosen for the Christmas strawberries are perfect. I love the Aztec red fabric, I’ve never stitched on it. Thanks for the visit! 🪡🪡🪡
Barb I vote for heart only, no birds. Leave the little groundhog on the bottom. What a beautiful sunset behind you. I would be sitting in front of the slider every evening enjoying the view. Ahh a finishing fairy...what a great idea😂!
Love your wip parade!! You and I could be spokespeople for Country Sampler because I too buy alot of their kits!! I just love their style.😻. Hope to see you there again !!!
I am so much to finish it almost makes me anxious. Just have to take a breath and do it. Thanks for sharing. Ive been looking for hearts to do, so thank you for ideas. Love seeing your projects
You are so welcome! Finishing can seem overwhelming. I remember when I had a giant stack of all mine and Leanne’s pieces. I sorted them into quick wins and it was amazing the sense of relief I felt as I made my way through the stack. I highly recommend just starting somewhere. Good luck!
You took me back in time when you talked about typing term papers. I thought I was so with it when i got to take an electric typewriter to college. 😀 Loved seeing your WIPS. Thanks for sharing!
If I had a flosstube, it would be very short and boring as I stitch one project at a time for the most part. I'm 71 with heart disease, am grateful for every day, but I don't want to leave a bunch of unfinished projects for my kids to deal with. it works for me and i seem to get a lot of projects done and finished. But everyone needs to do what works for them...If i were younger, I might have more WIPS. You have lots of fun projects you are working on...I saw someone sorted all their WIPS into categories pertaining to how much they had left to stitch. Then they started on the ones that were almost done (low hanging fruit) and worked their way through them. They really reduced their WIP count that way. I guess that is kind of what you were describing...Whatever you do, enjoy this season of rest, relaxation, and creativity.
I used to only stitch on one thing (Christmas stockings) when I returned to cross stitch but then found I really enjoyed breaking long term stitching up with quick pieces. Once that door opened up, I never looked back. The one thing I take pride in is that I usually do finish my WIPs eventually. Hope you’re getting lots of stitching in!
This is the first time I have seen you on flash 2 I fell in love with you when you held up just about all the same stitches that I'm working on, especially the Valentine one, I'm trying to finish that Mike whips in plastic swords bags 2 is a verse. A lot of things made me happy when I watched you thank you
Loved all the videos. I wish I had ideas for finishing that were different…. Love everything!❤ hey love your ramble, feels like we are just hanging out!
You have so many beautiful WIPs and kits to choose from! I My “plan” is to stitch what I already have and try not to purchase new patterns this year. I also want to stitch more smalls! I just love the Blackbird Designs book that you showed with the stitched hearts. I stopped the video to look for it and of course it is OOP and nobody has it unless I pay an arm and a leg on eBay. Your snow and sunset photos at the end were beautiful. Have a great few weeks until your next video!
I loved seeing your wip parade and upcoming plans, Barb. You sure have a beautiful array of lovely projects to stitch on. I love your embroidered bowl fillers too, they're so pretty. Thank you for another great video and I look forward to seeing your technique with how you apply coloring with the walnut crystals. Your stitching is amazing and you are so talented.
I like the love square option for the February Prairie schooler. I like that it has a heart and it is next to the word heart on the left. I didn't notice that there wasn't any other blue in the rest of the sampler until you mentioned it. Maybe you could change that blue to another color like Brown or something else that doesn't stand out as much?
The bunny on the skateboard might be cute to leave in. I agree, if it isn't a gift, take your time, stitch what you want that day, it is not a race, it's a hobby. I put my WIPS & New Starts that I'd like to do this year onto a Spreadsheet, just to have them all together, to glance at, instead of going through tons of project bags. Just trying to be more organized. Nice Sunset. Enjoyed the video.
Always enjoy your videos…I’m with you - I do what I want when I want - I spent too many years being manic and militant, LOL…..I have art bins full of finished stitching that needs to be FFO’d……I have absolutely no desire to do it, rather be making X’s……Loco…..🤪🤪🤪 yep‼️
Yeah that’s kind of how I used to be but in trying to honor Leanne and get her stuff cleared out, I somehow changed my ways and now like to try to keep up with the process.
Good video! I d I d ps rabbit gave it to my sister. Of course I have the Paulette Stewart and Therese Venette patriotic pieces. Have a done it No! I stitch on Christmas and patriotic. You are very creative. I just send my pieces to Faye Riggsbee and to Hobby lobby for framing. I don't understand folks not full finishing. All mine are done since 1975😊
Very enjoyable to see all your stitchy stuff. Here's what I think about your PS February.....do the heart and do the birds red not blue.... would they kinda look like cardinals then?? Just my thoughts. See you next time ❤
Good morning!! Would you share the details of the WIP- that Leanne started and you are finishing- I would like to fine the chart. I had a hip replacement a week ago and now have some time to stitch. Thank you so much!

Thanks so much!

Exactly!!
Thanks for the encouragement to fully finish!
Thanks so much! I usually keep the active things in a basket so just have a couple to flip through at a time.
Ramble on! I enjoyed seeing your finishes as well as your WIPS. Yes, it's not a job, it's fun!
So true! Thanks for watching.

Welcome!! I’m always thrilled to hear from a new viewer. It’s fun to hear others stitch similar pieces. Hope you come back for more videos. Thank you!

Great idea! Thanks for confirming it shouldn’t be another groundhog.
Loved your video. Loved your rambling. Thanks for taking the time and sharing your WIPS. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Happy new year!
Never a mistake. It’s a customization.
Haha. Good one!
Definitely put love in place of groundhog in Prairie School Sampker.
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment on that. Appreciate it!
❤❤❤

It’s from The Pinkeep and it’s called Pledge Allegiance 1892. If i remember right she bought it from Country Sampler. Hope you’re up and around!
Are you coming to Amana in the fall?
TBD hope to!
