i've really never seen a better set-up for a character, in that so many huge ideas, the central themes for prometheus, all got sucked entirely into shaw's character, riding on her, so that she was WAY larger than just herself. And she was travelling, to resolve those ideas.... and then.... she dies offscreen. And the robot killed her and we still don't know why or how. i mean there's meaning in that but bordering on too nihilistic, man. come on
Naomi is an amazing actress! That scene in the med-pod doing a caesarean section on herself was simply INSANE -- just an outstanding performance!! And... I love Guy Pearce. His comments re: Memento were hilarious (and spot-on) so big thumbs-up to him, too.
Noomi and Michael had great interviews about Prometheus. Fun times :D They should have their own talkshow :D I'm really disappointed that we will not see new interviews with them after Alien: Covenant. :( my heart bleeds. :( I would be watching at those two whole days. There is some fascinating with them. I'm already long seen a good interviews of Michael Fassbender with his co stars.
One of the things I like about Ridley Scott is he basically declares himself a genius in most interviews... but what I REALLY love is that nobody disagrees (myself included)! I have learned more about filmmaking by watching this master than anyone else. He is a true creative. I always struggle to focus on my short-films as the next project always seems the more exciting, and when I get side-tracked or creatively stuck I always say to myself 'what would Ridley do'? wrap it up and move on would be the answer. 🏆🇬🇧
It's really nice to hear Ridley Scott talking about how he thinks Aliens is very good, since there are SO MANY fans that constantly go on and on about how Cameron "bastardized" the mythology. Scott has always been supportive of the sequel.
jake, you always ask good questions. Whether its the cast of The Hobbit or Prometheus, you always seem to get them thinking and they appreciate it. So do we.
Although the reporter speaks like many other sensationalist journalist, his questions are actually interesting and insightful, maybe even challenging to the cast and director. A job well done, congratulations!
Actually looking at his body of work, hes not really done that many films but he is truly a great director, up there with Spielberg and such. He doesnt milk a thing for action and all the usual, he gives us enough of all that, but is more focused on making a solid film. And hes worked with many different genres. any1 saw that chick flick, "Thelma and Louise?" I never even knew Ridley directed that lol.
Prometheus was also said to be a powerful deity (Titan) and create man out of clay.... Wonderful title for the movie, and an ironic title for the ship.
He's making a new Blade Runner film, yes. It's still kind of up in the air whether it's a sequel, or prequel. It likely won't be a straight-out remake.
He's so right when he says Blade Runner is the most influential for young directors. I hope to become a director of science fiction one day, and when I do, I'll be taking massive chunks from Blade Runner. It defined the cyberpunk genre on screen. I hope to be halfway as talented as Ridley Scott one day.
One of the problems I have with the film isn't that it doesn't answer the big question of "why do they want to kill us", it's that it actually seems to promise a sequel and an answer to this question. Well, as Damon says, sometimes the question is more interesting than the answer. I don't want them to come along in three years and give us "all the answers." What fun is that? If Ridley had come along and told us definitively that Deckard was a replicant would Blade Runner still be the film it is?
When i was younger and seen Bladerunner i was taken away by its visuals and the futuristic designs but i thought the story was too slowpaced and i didnt understand what was going on, as an adult ive came to respect that movie and love the story now.
You should watch more of his interviews...too bad there wasn't enough time for this one...he's one of the few directors who engage very well in interviews and give you more in an answer than you expected. Just check out his "Ridley Scott Searchlab lecture"...Filmmaking 101
Thats like me, Ive always dreamt of bieng a movie maker, maybe not so much director, but a writer/producer as I hav so much Ideas swirling rnd in my head, and a visual eye of how I can picture and see a particular story/Idea playing out. I wish u luck in ur future.
I missed Noomi Rapace as Shaw in Alien: Covenant.
They should have continued that character. :(
My2Cents couldn't agree more man. So disappointed because of how they ruined her character.
true man. so disappointed

I agree and i don't understand why Noomi will not be in the sequel. Ridley is a fool.
Slávka Fulierová I think she had a hand in not being in the alien covenant
*Noomi
Noomi need to be cloned in a new Alien movie the people want to see another prometheus epic style movie with it
The chemistry between Noomi and Michael is fantastic!
Lmao well she was right "Prometheus 2" was all about Fassbender. 😆
I was disappointed that there wasn't more of these two in Covenant. :(
Noomi Rapace is my idol. And I'm a Michael Fassbender fangirl. This movie could not have been better.
There's a great chemistry between Noomi and Michael
The Rapace/Fassbender interview was awesome. Really enjoyed that. Good questions too!

Ridley: "I liked it, screw you." Yess!!
These are great questions, I loved this interview. Prometheus was easily my favourite film of 2012.
best interviews so far, and made me feel better about a sequel being on its way in the future
this guy is a really good interviewer
really? Im interested in good interviewer.
Really good interviews - nice to see an interviewer trying some new questions and fresh approach.
I enjoyed this movie and I love Noomi Rapace in this film
Great interview!! asking unique questions not the usual ones. Dorky interview awkward moment at the end of noomi and fassbender was hilarious
Wasn't going to see it before, definitely going to see it after watching these interviews.
Noomi Rapace makes me wonder who this Meryl Streep person is.
BEAUTIFUL visuals and sound effects and music
"I don't care." Ridley Scott is the KING

You're a great interviewer. Hopefully I see more of you in the future :)
This guy answers well thought out questions..best interviewer I've seen in a while...
One of the things I like about Ridley Scott is he basically declares himself a genius in most interviews... but what I REALLY love is that nobody disagrees (myself included)! I love these 2 gifted actors.
Rapace and Fassbender obviously get some appreciative nominations, and awards. And I liked the movie,
I thought Prometheus was brilliant
Best movie ever made🔥
Me too
great review! going to see this Friday! Can't Wait!
Sorry to break it to you, but Noomi is the 'original' Lisbeth Salander since she was the first person to play her in the original swedish movie.
Exactly what I did, I watched it on Friday and went back on Sunday to see it again!
Prometheus rocked!
It's really nice to hear Ridley Scott talking about how he thinks Aliens is very good, since there are SO MANY fans that constantly go on and on about how Cameron "bastardized" the mythology. Scott has always been supportive of the sequel.
idea, script, visuals , acting wise..best of the year!!
Okay this guy is a kickass interviewer. Finally brains and creativity in an interview.
Really great questions and interview. Nicely done.
this movie was really long and subtle but once it's over with you just sit there like "..... wow" really awesome movie
yes, love her and loved the character
BRILLIANT MOVIE
Same here. I still remain adamant that is one of the Best Films of 2012.
I think Michael Fassbender is so handsome!!
Like if you agree :)
Good interviewing and questions as always! :D
Ridley is my fucking hero. He's such an inspiration for directors.
Just saw it and not the Blockbuster i expected .... More of a story than an alien action and that definitely isn't a bad thing... LOVED IT
Great interview jakethemovieguy, very entertaining to watch
Very intelligent interviews. Well-thought-out questions. Great stuff.
jake, you always ask good questions. Whether its the cast of The Hobbit or Prometheus, you always seem to get them thinking and they appreciate it. So do we.
I watched it Thursday night and went back Saturday for a second round.
Noomie was so adorable in the movie
I wonder how long away the Filming is. Look at Noomi´s Hair... must be 2 Years or so...
Prometheus was a brilliant movie. Can't wait for the Blu-ray directors cut!
I just need to get it out of my chest (no pun intended). It'd be fantastic to be an interviewer. They get to talk to and hug so many great actors!
awesome interviews jake!!!!! you've got some really great questions, not the same old crap everyone else asks ;)!!!!
that fool killed shaw characters..she could have been the next big heroine after ripley nuff said..but obviously he doesnt care..fool
Although the reporter speaks like many other sensationalist journalist, his questions are actually interesting and insightful, maybe even challenging to the cast and director.
A job well done, congratulations!
"I am an artist. This is fact."

She's absolutely beautiful and a fantastic actress who is well spoken.
Just saw the movie, and OMG was it great. Seriously thinking about watching it a second time!
Prometheus was also said to be a powerful deity (Titan) and create man out of clay.... Wonderful title for the movie, and an ironic title for the ship.

This interviewer......BRILLIANT, I LIKED HIM PERSONALLY - BRONSON voice
GAHD this movie. This interview is great. Answered many questions of mine.
Noomi is spectacular
No sir, the movie that made most marks in films was Alien, not Blade Runner.
Hahaha fantastic interviewer. Finally some positive energy instead of awkward.
Thats like me, Ive always dreamt of bieng a movie maker, maybe not so much director, but a writer/producer as I hav so much Ideas swirling rnd in my head, and a visual eye of how I can picture and see a particular story/Idea playing out. I wish u luck in ur future.
Great interviewer
"I don't care." Hahahaahah Perfect answer to such an edged question.
13:05. Yes we agree ...2 heads nodding perfectly aligned.
Great video. Really loved it. Charlize Theron is beautiful.
