It goes to show that confidence is everything when it comes to music. I learnt how to play guitar by the age of 14 but used to highly underestimate my ability. I always believed that unless my playing was highly intricate and complex then my own music was worthless. Now that I look back on the greats like Bowie, Beatles, Stones, Chuck Berry etc I realise that they weren't particularly technical at all. They just committed to certain chords and layered them to the point an entire different genre was created.
Thank you so much! It’s called an eBow. It causes the string to vibrate continuously using magnets, to create an effect like a bow on a violin or stringed instrument! They’re really cool for recreating that Fripp sound of the guitar feedback on Heroes ⚡️
@@DeanLlewellynGuitar I like the sound the ebow makes too and if you want to hear it used to great effect listen to "Harvest Home" and "In A Big Country" by Big Country
Hello, I would love to know where you got that first LP guitar. I'm looking for one in that color. Also I think you should've done Suffragette City. That song has one of the best riffs, for sure
@@DeanLlewellynGuitar daamn, if we're talking about Part 2s here then you should also add Joe The Lion and Fashion 😉 Also thanks telling, dude! You're very talented, don't let anyone discourage you!
@@DeanLlewellynGuitar sorry i meant rift And I listened to the song again and it turns out I always missed the guitar sound changing between the opening to the rift I’m not knowledgeable about guitars that’s why i missed the rift and thought you changed it Anyway marvellous work , i love this kind of videos because I didn’t learn music so the songs sound like noises coming together And when i see people recreating their favourite rifts i can appreciate the music more and see how different guitarists influences the songs
@@nawaf6993 All good bro! Thanks for the kind words. Bowie was one of the best for choosing incredible guitar players to play on his songs! China Girl really is an awesome tune with both Nile Rodgers and Stevie Ray Vaughan featuring :)
Half of These are Mick Ronson Riffs and NONE are David Bowie licks. To say these are Bowie licks is either showing a complete ignorance of music and Bowie history or just be too lazy to find out. Carlos Alomar, Nile Rodgers, and Carlos Alomar and others played these riffs.
Of course - David did not play these parts on the recordings, and was known for working with these collaborators :) However he did write the songs therefore the riffs are accredited to his work! It would be an incredibly long title if I’d named all of the guitarists involved…. Ignorance - not one bit ;)
Nice! You should join a bowie tribute band! ⚡️
Daniel George Burke Thanks! Heard there’s a sick one in Brighton called Bowiesque? Apparently they have an awesome keys player 😉⚡️
Loved Bowie for nearly 50 years but: Mick Ronson, Carlos Alomar, Earl Slick, Nile Rodgers..
Don't forget Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew and Reeve Gabriels who had amazing guitar contributions to Bowie's work.
don’t forget Stevie Ray Vaughan!
He recorded the last two songs.
Okay, that Ziggy Stardust was clean as fuck
❤️🙏

Great riffs. Love all thoose Bowie songs. Bowie is the Bomb
Thank you so much! I had great fun filming this, the riffs will never get old! ⚡️
You should do videos with the full songs. David Bowie’s music is great and you did a pretty great job with this. Keep it up!
Wow, you sure can play that guitar with the best of them!!!
I absolutely love this and 100% agree with you
and may I suggest you consider trying my favorite Eno guitar riffs? "Needles in the Camel's Eye"...."Baby's On Fire" and "Here Cone The Warm Jets".
Cool!
Your"Let's dance" is perfect!
ひまんちゅ Thank you so much!

Great video
Well done nice playing 😉👍🏻
who was your favorite Bowie guitarist...Ronson, Slick or Fripp? Mine was Ronson.
You’re trying to make me pick?!?! 😂 Ronson!
Amazing ❤
That was cool
Very nicely played, however lets give credit where credit is due. Most of these are Mic Ronson Licks!
Wonderful......
Dude. So cool.
Really enjoyed that. Well done and thanks.
As a non guitar player, what was the device you held in your right hand for 'Heroes' ?

well done- sparse but with feeling
Goood!👍
Slow Burn, my boy, Slow Burn.
One of my faves! ⚡️
did you think it was odd that Bowie could write such great riffs even though he described himself as only an average player?
The only riff he wrote was Rebel Rebel which he played himself
In his early times he didn't write most of tu he songs. Mick Ronson wrote a bunch
@@blackpilledchad1927 really? None of the Bowie albums I own list Ronson as a songwriter, they list him as a musician.
@@TooSkinnyKenny You were talking about writing riffs. I was also talking about writing riffs.
@@ivankaramasov what about the title track from Diamond Dogs?

what is the name of your blue guitar and acoustic guitar?
Just for kicks try putting all of them, except Ziggy Stardust, in open D tuning.
What’s that light thing in his right hand on Heroes?
Good stuff... what kind of LP is that?
proto diacre Thank you! It’s made by a company called Rock N Roll Relics, they’re awesome guitars!
What brand is that les paul? It's beatiful man
Thanks man! It’s a Rock N Roll Relics :)
Did you change the china girl solo ??
