TODAYS VIDEO⇲
I grew up listening to lots of David Bowie as a child and hold his music close to my heart so I was devastated to here this morning that he had passed away with cancer at the age of 69 last night. I truly found him fascinating as a child - his look and persona were just so unique. He was a true rock icon and his music will forever be remembered and cherished. Here is my tribute to him with my top 10 guitar riffs from his back catalogue.

Mick Ronson was such a great guitarist! I also love playing Panic in Detroit, Moonage Daydream, Width of a Circle and Hang on to Yourself
Nice tribute to David, and to Mick Ronson also, who played most of those riffs.
Oh yes another to be taken by cancer. Such a shame but at least we have their music to enjoy
the guitar riff to Andy Warhol on acoustic is incredible and slightly difficult on 12 string
Rest in peace Bowie, and keep making Heaven sexy
\m/
Width of a Circle has a pretty neat riff too
thanks for sharing Karl Golden
Rest in peace David... We will miss you, thanks for this video, a great tribute 🤘🏼
Thank you for the comment
Mick Ronson lives!
Good to see a tribute about Bowie, awesome video.
Beautiful, Thanks for sharing. In tears here. Loved David's 70s music. RIP
+Raquel_Calero You are very welcome. Thank you for the comment
Lets dance is my favourite Bowie song. You would've made him proud with this. His name was Ziggy and he played guitar... Rest in piece
Lovely tribute man
They all fit together,great.
Great tribute! Thanks for this...
I was kinda expecting for 'Stay'. Oh well, these were great, thanks for sharing
Well played, you know Bowie's guitar riffs for sure. ;)
Thanks.
why did he pass away😯
it makes me cry😢😢
right Carl
Amazing
Kingdom Come is one of my favorites, I know it's a cover, but so is China Girl, Tom Verlaine is one of my favorite guitarists along with Mick Ronson and Jimi Hendrix
a good tribute to the starman, well done
Star man is the best Bowie song imo
Thanks bro
Good work, tone down nice, thanks Karl…
🙏🙏
stevie ray played the solo on let's dance!!!
At least now he can sing with freddy mercury side by side again
True dat
What a band! Kurt Cobain sings together with Phil Lynnot, Jimi on the guitar, Jon Bonham at the drums and Lemmy plays the bass:D
Freddie on vocals, jimi on guitar, lemmy on bass, bonzo on drums
The Heirophant you're moron. Freddie must sings hahaha
Thanks for you recorded this video,I can missing him in simple way .(sorry,my grammar is not good)
karl responeded faster than some news stations to his death
Very sad. I am a big fan. Found out 6am this morning
These are all singles, if you go into the back catalogue there are much better riffs and songs. Top of my head, Width of a circle, moonage daydream, Stay, Reality and that’s with barely any thought.
Ronson's solo on Moonage Daydream is perhaps the greatest solo on any Bowie album, with or without Ronson.
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Your missing Scary Monster
Next time! Thanks
@@Karlgolden Your welcome!
I actually got to see David Bowie in concert back in the late seventies, I still have the ticket stub
Super...well done you
Nice Video man
Thank you
I'm so sad I loved him so much 😭
Yeah me too man
I admire you for this video 🎸🎸👍👍
All the way through I was thinking you have to include Queen Bitch. And there it was at number 10. Nicely done.
🙌🙌
Authentic Karl plays Authentic
Chibsons finest!
Marvelous
Thank you
Lindo isso!
My dad was quite a big fan of Bowie he had quite a few albums. I listened to them to day and the songs weren't half bad. R.I.P David Bowie
My Dad was also a big fan
there is no top 10 riffs by bowie songs - there are 50 I could name right now that are recognizable
Won't ever believe it can't.x
Nice one
Thank you
Love this, you did a great job, excellent choices but "Just Dance" was actually Nile Rodgers who he did that song with (also the great riff behind Daft Punk's "Get Lucky"). Still an absolutely classic Bowie song, just not technically David's riff, though they probably wrote the whole song together as a team. RIP Bowie
😢 R.IP
I just found out like an hour a go and now I'm depressed again
Yeah man very sad. I love his music
Golden Years is No 1. Where is it?.
R.I.P
Cool!!!!!😍😍💙💙💫💫💫💫⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡💕💔💔
first lemmy, now david...
Very sad
When I listened to China girl, the guitar part sounded like it had a slide
So many “riff” videos feature stuff that are not riffs. The Life on Mars one is very much not a riff, for instance.
Stay!
you don't consider the James Brown inspired riff from "Stay" to be one of his top riffs?
nicely presented but was 100% sure No. 10 would be Gene Genie!!!!!
7 is a solo btw
Fashion???.......Robert Fripps absolutely bonkers riff........but fantastic
porco dio.....i was depressed for lemmy and now david
Evita di bestemmiare in queste situazioni ;) ti capisco ma suvvia :)
+Nicolas Meco hahaha
데이빗 보위가 죽다니 몇 주 전에 노래 들었었는데 이제 진짜 전설이되는구나...
You must really love the ziggy era.
oh yes!
Mick Ronson's Top 7 Riffs :-)
and isn't it a bit odd that even though Bowie could create such great riffs, his rock band Tin Machine wasn't very good?
fame?
1st
I hated china girl and let's dance (I still do) I think Bowie capitulated in the early 80's (Bouffant hair, Miami vice suits, fake tan and twee pop songs aping the new romantics and the likes of Duran Duran and Spandau ballet) and never wrote a good song after that.
Fair enough not sure what else to say! He’s still written some bigger hits to date then we ever have!
@@Karlgolden All the major groups and artists capitulated in the early 80s and the music scene has never recovered since. The Stones last truly great song was "Start Me Up" then they started aping/trying to keep up with fashion, McCartney hasn't wrote a true classic since "Take It Away" even the likes of AC/DC "Let's Get It Up" was there last true rock song... the list goes on. Bowie never wrote anything worth (except for hardcore fans) after 1983 - Elton John "Sad Songs (Say So Much)" was his last great song ...name any group of the 1960s/1970s that was still going/is still going in the 1980s till the present day ...the music industry dumbed down everything from 1983 onwards and now the music scene is completely dominated by low IQ rap for one group and low IQ "metal" for another
this is so wrong...
Bruh how
Mick was amazing....
