It was mentioned that the finale was a remake, that it was recycled. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed that ever since Sargent took over the role of Darrin, it seems like the main points of each episode was recycled. It's like maybe the writers ran out of ideas and just kept repeating from the previous seasons. With each "new" episode, we already know what's going to happen. That's disappointing, but I continued to watch, anyway.
I actually watched it in syndication. I didn't realize until you mentioned the years of its original run. I know where I was living when I started watching TV. It was 68 or later. I was too young before that to remember watching anything.

Maybe not overtly political, but with clear links to the racist 60s. Darren was a mortal and Samantha's family didn't believe it in mixed marriages, etc.
Erin Murphy (Tabitha) said in an interview that Bewitched was NOT cancelled. The cast had contracts to run for two more seasons but during the summer hiatus William Asher and Elizabeth Montgomery decided that they didn't want to do the show any longer.
Elizabeth had an affair with one of the directors of the show that resulted in her divorce with her husband, also the director/producer of the show. They couldn't work together any longer after the divorce... They had a company together and so both gave the network another show that they produced to make up for the two seasons of Bewitched.
Yes His stress over "What if Larry finds out Sam is a witch?" created many moments of laughter. Where Sargent's stress seemed less believable! Perhaps I was just too used to York by then but it seemed he was so much better in the role!
I just loved that show when I was young. In those days, people only had one tv in the house and much fewer stations. This was a sweet, clean, funny love story. I liked Dick York as the frustrated hubby. He was perfect in the role. I was a property manager and in every place I managed in my career, there was always at least one Mrs. Kravitz. If you ever wanted to know what's happening, they'll tell you more than you want to know!
Yeah! 4 stations! ABC, which was #7 here in Wash. D.C., CBS which was 9, & NBC which was #4. WTTG was channel 5. Jeff Foxworthy pegged it perfectly when he joked: "The President's been shot! We're gonna miss "Flipper"!!' That was the truth! And don't forget that frozen screen when TV went off the air at midnight! Lol!
That's the 2nd video with the title about a scene that ended a show where the scene wasn't the cause of the end and there's no story about the scene. Dislike x1000.
I totally agree. It's a clickbate world now and this dubious practice makes for a stupid game. Videos with deceptive wording or flatout lies in the title, which fail to deliver the content described should be pulled from rotation or rejected outright as a product of false advertising.
I’m sorry but if you really want to produce a good video, please stop dragging it out. Then use graphics and music relevant to the subject. The results weren’t worthy of your time, let alone to the memory of this well loved series
I'm guessing this is based on a clickbait link of the same title and cover pic. Now whether this poster just plagiarized from the clickbait or this video was produced by same company as the article is the question

The “magic” was done superbly on this show whether Samantha twitched her nose or snapped her fingers. Those stage hands did wonders, so did the imaginative writers. Dashing Darrin (always with a little creative help from his wife and/or her family) and money hungry Larry were ...”Mad Men” in New York, but likable characters.
Dick York, there was chemistry between them. My favorite episode would be hard to narrow down but it would have been one with either Uncle Arthur or Aunt Clara
I loved whenever Gladys Kravitz screamed “ABNER” because she saw something insanely strange at the Steven’s home, but when ABNER would take a look things would appear totally normal, sometimes he didn’t look, instead he would make a remark that would make Gradys look like a crazy lady. I also loved when Tabitha would do ‘wishcraft’ and Samantha would have to fix it. Oh what an adorable show💕.
I was a loyal fan and if reruns come on I can almost guarantee I'll watch it. Even though I've seen every episode tons of times. I loved it when cousin Sabrina would show up. Samantha's alter ego cracked me. My favorite was the one where she sang with a rock. I can't for the life of me remember who the group was.
i loved when Uncle Arthur would appear on the show. My favorite was when she opened the oven and he was inside. He said " Whats Cooking Sammy?' I named my french bull dog Uncle Arthur after him. I also loved their home. I wanted to be her when i was 12.
THE ONE SEGMENT I ENJOYED THE MOST ....IS WHEN THEY FOUND OUT TABITHA WAS A LITTLE WITCH. JUST LOVED THAT ONE . I WATCHED FAITHFULLY ALL RIGHT SEASON'S. SEEING I WAS BORN 1960 FEB BLESSINGS ALL 🙏🏾❤🙏🏾c
5:53 - “When she passed away, people were in shock.” Thank you for showing that random shot of the woman expressing shock. Without it, I wouldn’t have known what the phrase “people were in shock” meant. 🙄
I always liked Aunt Clara, you ll must have really liked her too. She was so cute, such a sweetheart, I wish I had an Aunt Clara. Even though her witchcraft was a bit rusty.
I remember a story Elizabeth Montgomery told in an interview about Marion Lorne, the actress that played Aunt Clara. If I recall, Marion was at a hotel. She called Liz and excitedly told her she wanted to show her something. So Liz rushed over to see what it was all about. When she got there, Marion was sitting in front of the TV. She raised her arms, then pointed them at the TV. And the TV changed channels! Liz was a little stunned and asked her to do it again. So Marion did it again, but this time, Liz noticed she was wearing bracelets that clanged together producing the same frequency as the TV remote. She didn't have the heart to tell her. :)
I'm like 6 when this fab show started. Such a part of the soundtrack of my life. I Dream of Jeannie. The classics that you can't best w any show even today.
I loved Dick York as Darrin..more than Dick Sargent. And..I thought for the Bewitched movie that Jim Carrey would have made a better Darrin than Will Ferrell..for the same reasons that Dick York was better than Dick Sargent. Dick York had some wildly amazing facial expressions..and I know that Jim Carrey would have done the same. Jim Carrey even looks a bit like Dick York. I was bummed when Will Ferrell got the role of Darrin in the movie.
I absolutely agree with your comment. This has been echoed on other websites relating to the 'Darren' question. It is unanimous by popular vote that Dick York was the better of the two.
fatdanios they were almost identical! They looked alike, talked alike and acted alike, a lot of people never knew the difference, plus their names - Sgt. York, lol They were generic versions of each other!
I was disappointed when York disappeared from the show, he was so cute, but Sargent had an endearing quality that made the change easy to accept. He seemed like such a nice person.
i had an architectural drafting company and my favorite job ever was the Hawthorne hotel. Also known as the "Bewitched" hotel since many scenes had been filmed there. It is in Salem (go figure) We were renovating the entire building so we had to provide 'as-built 'drawings since whatever was on record was in such a mess. I stayed there for 2 months and I could only measure the rooms at night to cause the least disruption. I also had to wait for the rooms to be vacated. During the day I did the CAD drawings in my spacious suite. It was quite an experience and juxtaposition from the day time. One of the elevators was haunted. There had been a wedding there in the 40's and the flower girl was murdered in quite a graphic way in that elevator. It had many stories about incidents there. I did not believe in that nonsense until it became the bane of my existence. I would hear the unused lift going up and down all night since they had placed me in the room across from it, It is my favorite hotel because every room is a suite with 2 bathrooms. A boat designer had designed many of the rooms, it was very clever. The rooms were not very big so walls were taken down and every 2 rooms became a suite. If you are a Bewitched fan,. you must go there because they have all kinds of wonderful treasures from the show.
I loved Aunt Clara she was so sweet, and Dr. Bombay was so funny and Uncle Arthur Mr. Paul Lynde was as well. it was so much fun watching Darrin and Endora fight one of the best parts of the show, you never would know what she was going to do but you knew she would do something.
Dick York was an outstanding actor. I really enjoyed the expressions he used in his acting they were very believable. In addition, his compassion for humanity. He was a very kind person and giving. He is truly missed. God be with you in Spirit. I hope to meet you in heaven!
I grew up to re-runs of this show and didn't have much of a clue about what it was about until I got a little older. The show ranks right up there with I Dream Of Jennie and Lost In Space.
I always thought I would have a wife just like Samantha, great personality, always bubbly, foxy, sexy, hot, and happy..... HOLY SHIT WAS I A DUMB ASS!!!!
Dick York was my favorite, probably because he was the one Samantha really started with. It was weird to me as a kid when they changed men and you were supposed to think he was still Darren. It never felt like that to me. I would rather that she got remarried after being widowed, but I guess that was not what they had in mind for this show.
4:14 She did take a break for her pregnancy, which is why several second season episode were repeats of first season episodes which just a minute or so of new footage to make it a retrospective.
As a child in the early eighties. I enjoyed that Christmas episode of Bewitch. They had very good intentions with that Possible Episode. Everyone is too sensitive today to even try to understand.
David Steen, when my kids bombard me with a million requests for me to do a million things at once, my reply is always "give me a break, I'm not Samantha Stevens!!!". My boys both know the show with me watching my DVDs of it thru the years, & its the only older show my youngest watches & that is awesome, because I can see him really thinking - he's always trying to figure out how they filmed all the magic tricks & such. I've seen some if the "how they do it" dvd extras, but my son has come up with some pretty clever theories of how it could have been done. There aren't a whole lot of shows anymore that actually make kids think, so I love seeing the cogs start turning when my son is trying to figure things out as he watches.
Regarding "There were fan Websites calculating how many times each character drank during each episode." - Bewitched predates the Internet by roughly three decades. There may be recent fan websites that discuss this, but if they did it then, that was real time travel magic.
I remember being so excited watching the premier of Bewitched! I was just a kid, but I think the reason I have always had a thing for girls with chin dimples is because of Elizabeth Montgomery. One of the most beautiful women in the world to this day.
Yeah I remember this show the be with you that I was watching them when I was growing up in the '60s yeah I love that show Thank you God bless you 🙏💋💋💋💋😘🥰

Dick York was my favorite Darrin. I thought he was so perfect a long side Samantha. I loved that show and miss all the actors that made it work so well ♥️
As a kid, my favorite part of the show was the opening, cartoon night scene with twinkling stars and a pretty blue night sky. I think I would have preferred a cartoon but only if it incorporated such lovely art work. Anyway, the opening scene itself was magical as I was often ordered to bed and left to my own sweet and slightly love-struck adolescents.
I loved Bewitched when I was growing up. I was so pleased when they showed repeats in the 2000s at 7am. My son was young then and we would sit in bed watching it before getting him ready for school... it was a great incentive to wake up! Dick York for us through and through. His expressions were amazing. I also loved Gladys and all scenes where she was trying to catch Samantha out. Another show we loved was I dream of genie - the same set was used. Captain Nelson’s house was the same house used by Gladys and her husband. There’s a funny story attached to the day of the funeral of the actor that played her husband - you could mention that in a video too! As for remakes, not sure I would ever like it. It just would not be the same without all the characters that we loved... and the 1960s era.

I lov them too remember I dream of Jennie too...lov those kind of shoes n cartoons from back then. Nice n clean. Snoopy, Garfield, hecliff, woody woodpecker,
James Ryan I wasn’t born yet. Sadly
York
Maybe not overtly political, but with clear links to the racist 60s. Darren was a mortal and Samantha's family didn't believe it in mixed marriages, etc.
Erin Murphy (Tabitha) said in an interview that Bewitched was NOT cancelled. The cast had contracts to run for two more seasons but during the summer hiatus William Asher and Elizabeth Montgomery decided that they didn't want to do the show any longer.
She was tired of it and wanted to take her career in new directions, which she promptly did with "A Case of Rape" and "Mrs. Sundance."
I heard the same thing.
Elizabeth had an affair with one of the directors of the show that resulted in her divorce with her husband, also the director/producer of the show. They couldn't work together any longer after the divorce... They had a company together and so both gave the network another show that they produced to make up for the two seasons of Bewitched.
They also divorced about a year later. Never heard about an affair. Just that she didnt want to do last few seasons
I heard that as well and they were divorcing I think
I’ve always lived bewitched and watched every episode when I was a kid... my daughter grew up watching it too.... we are forever fans
always enjoyed the show and missed Dick York when he left.
S😢 D😢 👁️...R.✝️.P.,MR.Y😢RK✝️✝️✝️✝️❕❕❕
debra replogle : So did the audience, apparently, what with the falling ratings every season after he had to leave.
I still am a big fan of Bewitche ! My favorite seen was when Tabatha used her powers and parents didn't know she had powers .
I liked Dick York the most.
Dick York, has to be. He was brilliant and made the show so real.
Yes His stress over "What if Larry finds out Sam is a witch?" created many moments of laughter. Where Sargent's stress seemed less believable! Perhaps I was just too used to York by then but it seemed he was so much better in the role!
1:50- the two Darrons were 100% different. Sergeant never smiled and Your had that stupid laugh. I preferred York. He was more fun!
I was born in 1964 and I grew older and in my teens I got to look it and now I'm in my middle 50s and I love it just as much now as I did then.
Loved the show. Dick York was the only Darrin for me.
Belinda Whisman me too.
Absolutely correct, Belinda!
...I read somewhere that Dick Sargent was actually the first choice for Darren, but he was unavailable at the time, so Dick York was cast instead.
Yes york was the best.
Me too
Elizabeth Montgomery is one of the most beautiful actresses ever. She played Lizzie Borden in a Made for TV movie.
MADIBERAL7 I remember that movie In real life Lizzie Borden was a very plain looking woman to put it mildly, Nothing like the gorgeous Montgomery
I believe that Elizabeth Montgomery was actually a descendant of Lizzie Borden on her father's side .
Dale Snyder perhaps related but not descended. Lizzie Borden had no children.
@@AdamG319 True-I guess they would be considered distant cousins
MADLIBERAL7. There is an episode of the intouchables she is stunningly pretty and her lover in the episode was David White. Larry himself
Dick York. His facial expressions we're priceless.
Dick York definitely. He was a much better actor in every way.
I loved this show, brings back so many memories from my childhood!
So true! Every place I have ever worked had at least one. I was always nice to them, they were obviously starving for attention.
Yeah!
I loved Brewitchec. My favorite episode was when Darren's ears grew when ever he liked.
Besides Samantha which is a given, Aunt Clara was marvelous
Dick York definatly fitted that part and played it well.
I’m sorry but if you really want to produce a good video, please stop dragging it out. Then use graphics and music relevant to the subject. The results weren’t worthy of your time, let alone to the memory of this well loved series
Michael White I agree some of these videos are about 4 to 5 minutes too long so I skipped through part of them. Thank goodness for fast forward
I'm guessing this is based on a clickbait link of the same title and cover pic. Now whether this poster just plagiarized from the clickbait or this video was produced by same company as the article is the question

The problem is that they DON'T want to produce a good video. They just want you to click on it. I was recently clickbaited by another FactsVerse vid. I was born in 1966 and love Elizabeth Montgomery...Tabitha...Mother , Serena
Loved it allll..T.Y. for all the gr8 memories
& GOD 🙏 bless
The “magic” was done superbly on this show whether Samantha twitched her nose or snapped her fingers. Those stage hands did wonders, so did the imaginative writers. Dashing Darrin (always with a little creative help from his wife and/or her family) and money hungry Larry were ...”Mad Men” in New York, but likable characters.
Dick York - he was perfect as Darrin!
I love that show!
Kravitz. They live next door, honestly!!!
And she always ended up with a sick head ache.
Wasn't it hilarious when Abner would give Gladys her medicine 😂
I think Gladys was my favorite character and what a great and convincing actress. It's sad to find out she wasn't well.
I loved Aunt Clara! The episode when she conjured up the elephant with polka dots was one of my favorites!
I'm on the side that doesn't understand unrelated clips in infotainment.
What is with 50% of this footage having nothing to do with Bewitched
i loved when Uncle Arthur would appear on the show.
Eight seasons? Your autotyping corrected your sentence I believe. I hate it when it does that!
5:53 - “When she passed away, people were in shock.” Thank you for showing that random shot of the woman expressing shock. Without it, I wouldn’t have known what the phrase “people were in shock” meant. 🙄
lol
The "extras" were out of place to say the least! I would agree with a chuckle over your comment!
Dick York. But everyone was good. The show will always have a place in my heart
What's your favorite memory of the show, Al?
this was one of my favorite shows when i was a kid along with i dream of jeanie. there was also the sequel series tabitha that only ran 12 episodes.
I always liked any episode with Aunt Clara, Tabitha, and when historical figures appeared, or when Samantha went back in time.
me too!
I always liked the one where Aunt Clara tried to conjure up an electrician and got Ben Franklyn.:-)
I liked when the show went to Salem.
Brilliant program watched regularly as a kid in the 60’s
Wow it was in the 60s ??? I watched it early 80a ..did not know it was on in the 60s
I still love the show. Watched every episode as a kid
@@kevinwiliiams5206 Debuted in 64, I remember it vividly! In my market, That Girl with Marlo Thomas followed. Loved it!
Dick York was the better Darren. He had a sweet, lovable quality, whereas, Sargent had neither.
I like dick York when he left the show o stop watching it
I absolutely agree with your comment.
This has been echoed on other websites relating to the 'Darren' question.
It is unanimous by popular vote that Dick York was the better of the two.
@@budderkupp1282 Hey I said the same exact thing. I had Jim Carrey for Darrin too.
fatdanios they were almost identical! They looked alike, talked alike and acted alike, a lot of people never knew the difference, plus their names - Sgt. York, lol They were generic versions of each other!
This show played a massive part of my childhood ,something nobody can ever take away.
Any episode that had uncle Auther in it was always my favorite
When Serena sang with a guitar blow u a kiss in the wind, love that episode, she a a cute way of dancing
I was disappointed when York disappeared from the show, he was so cute, but Sargent had an endearing quality that made the change easy to accept. He seemed like such a nice person.
It's one if those special unique shows that was and is timeless !🥰
Any episode with Paul Lynde was always the best ones.
Definitely
Paul Lynde was great wasnt he!
Probably on the DICK YORK side but no disrespect to the other Darren...This was a really good video an the info about alcohol use was interesting...
I'm looking for the episode ware they are selling carpet I believe the slogan was flurpity flurp is the
sound of bare feet on a carpet
Randy Ingram* Yes, l agree with you 💯
i had an architectural drafting company and my favorite job ever was the Hawthorne hotel.
I would hear the unused lift going up and down all night since they had placed me in the room across from it,
It is my favorite hotel because every room is a suite with 2 bathrooms. A boat designer had designed many of the rooms, it was very clever. The rooms were not very big so walls were taken down and every 2 rooms became a suite.
If you are a Bewitched fan,. you must go there because they have all kinds of wonderful treasures from the show.
Thank you 😁 for sharing that story. 🙏🏼
My favorite episode is when they thought Aunt Clara had turned herself into a cow.. 🐮
Aunt Clara was so lovable.
Dick York was an outstanding actor. I really enjoyed the expressions he used in his acting they were very believable. In addition, his compassion for humanity. He was a very kind person and giving. He is truly missed. God be with you in Spirit. I hope to meet you in heaven!
Dick York was my favorite and so was Elisabeth Montgomery she was gorgeous
I grew up to re-runs of this show and didn't have much of a clue about what it was about until I got a little older. The show ranks right up there with I Dream Of Jennie and Lost In Space.
I had a big thing for Sam! She was hot back in the day!
she aged well.
I always thought I would have a wife just like Samantha, great personality, always bubbly, foxy, sexy, hot, and happy.....
HOLY SHIT WAS I A DUMB ASS!!!!
She was beautiful till the day she died
6:57 now I see Agnes as even more extravagant knowing she brought all those clothes and jewelry!!! Wow
Dick York was my favorite, probably because he was the one Samantha really started with. It was weird to me as a kid when they changed men and you were supposed to think he was still Darren. It never felt like that to me. I would rather that she got remarried after being widowed, but I guess that was not what they had in mind for this show.
Dick york fitted the part better. They seemed right together the other was ok but never seemed to really fit the part.
My wife and i are such fans that we refer to her Mom as "Endora". Honestly, I'd like to have a Muther in law as nice as Endora.
😩😆🤣😂
Sure. Endora was nice ... if you weren't a mortal.
"Aunt Clara" was my favorite.
PERFECT ! SO FUNNY WHEN
SHE COULDN'T REMEMBER & WOULD STUDDER ,
( not really a studder , but her
own funny sounds ! )
Definitely Dick York, but my favorite character was Endora, and Tabitha was so adorable.
Regarding "There were fan Websites calculating how many times each character drank during each episode." - Bewitched predates the Internet by roughly three decades. There may be recent fan websites that discuss this, but if they did it then, that was real time travel magic.
I grew up watching Bewitched, my favorite episode when they tried to stop Tabitha from switching her nose and making things happen.
I remember being so excited watching the premier of Bewitched! I was just a kid, but I think the reason I have always had a thing for girls with chin dimples is because of Elizabeth Montgomery. One of the most beautiful women in the world to this day.
I wish that videos that has nothing to do with the story were not there.
Yeah I remember this show the be with you that I was watching them when I was growing up in the '60s yeah I love that show Thank you God bless you 🙏💋💋💋💋😘🥰
Elizabeth's father was Robert Montgomery, a very popular and attractive leading man in movies from the mid 1920s to 1960.
He was bitterly jealous of her star status. What an asshole.
Favorite show was anything that included her noisy neighbor Gladys.
Dick uork wS best
I always liked her screams. 😆
Alice Pierce was terrific in that role!
So it wasn't a "scene" that ended the show, but an entire "recycled episode". Then why did you put "scene" in the title? WTH!
Loved Dick York on the show! Such Wonderful actors, Such a Great show, Always. I never knew about the tragic heartaches that David White had. Even as many many years ago this happened, it's still sad.
Thank You So Much for making this video
Thanks for watching!
I don't know why I thought I'd actually get to see the scene.
