I'm a little late, but I wanna bring up a few things: -You mentioned on the previous "cultured" vid on that MK isn't that popular because it's an American created franchise on a Japanese site. It's somewhat true, however some American franchises like RWBY are pretty popular there, cause obviously it takes a lot of inspiration from Japanese anime to appeal to a Japanese audience, & the fact that a lot of characters there have such appealing designs is a huge plus. -That certain site you're on has variations, not that I'd know anything. But there's a certain R34 site that has "paheal" added to the search bar, & it seems to be the definitive site for "cultured" searches, as it's very balanced with Japanese, American, & other franchises, the one you're on leans a bit more to the Japanese side. Still kinda says how popular MK is when there still is a lot of searches on a site like that. Again, not that I'd know anything. -The reason for Cassie being widely searched isn't because she's new, cause obviously other new characters like Jacqui aren't as popular. It's obviously because of how appealing she is as a character. She has one of the best personalities in all of Mortal Kombat, which says a lot considering the huge cast MK has in its two decades. Being trendy in a way that's not cringy, great deigns, an amazing trash talker, super hilarious, a kick ass fighter, etc., really makes her such a beloved character. As to why someone like Jacqui isn't as popular: While her design is great, she doesn't have much of a persona (Even in 11, she acts like a discount Cassie or Sonya, with her constant trash talk, & tough military attitude), she doesn't have much story relevancy, & her being annoying in tournaments doesn't help at all.
Yeah, I don't think personality plays that much of factor in a characters rule 34 results( especially when you remember a character like Takeda has more of a fan following then Cassie who has been pretty device). Cassie ranking has more to do with her meeting the three major criterias for being popular there. Is a female, has significance in the franchise their a part of, and has desing philosophy meant for that appeals to special individuals.
