Tight track with little room for error… That pit lane exit is also in a crazy spot. I feel like we are going to see a lot of DNFs.
well the drivers could foresee this and be overly cautious as a result. Races like Monaco 2021 had zero safety cars when they were highly expected.
Racing in single digit temps in the middle of the night with v few corners on a new surface? Those tyres may never heat up...
@@waynemurray5084 That could make the race more interesting and it could be the opposite, we will have to wait and see. One theory I've have is that if tire warmup is an issue then the RedBulls could struggle, as they're the team that has saved their tires the best out of anyone this year. And Ferrari on the opposite side of the spectrum could benefit.
@@waynemurray5084they will all run minimum downforce so they’ll probably slide around more and that’ll heat the tires

Yes it was very informative, like "We want to get a nice turn here" and "We want a good exit here." I think learning is best when the guide is as vague as possible.

The slow chicane is so tricky on this track because you see it so late. Especially on low downforce the moment you actually see it you're too late to hit the brakes and you're going to crash. My best time on Asseto Corsa was something like 1:56 in an F1 car, but people who can actually drive can probably do much better.

Any overtaking spots! Looks tight like only the long straight if they are lucky.
I think it'll be either really hard or really easy to overtake. Either you'll fly past those who don't have DRS on the straight, or there will be massive DRS trains

Solid video. The Vegas circuit looks a bit like a one trick pony, however I think it'll nonetheless be a fun track considering all of the fanfare (and drama) surrounding it.
Would be so helpful if you add a track map and location of the driver on the track in a small corner
I see this being a race of attrition aka the first two Baku races, caused by tyre and brake temp issues causing collisions with the walls,especially as they'll be running their Monza spec aero. Ferrari and HAAS may be the dark horses of the weekend with their tyre warm up, which may help with graining

New track, cold temperatures, not much rubber on the tarmac especially off the line, tight corners, walls... Add into that the long straights will put engines under severe pressure, increasing risk of a blow-out. Highly likely it's going to be carnage and safety cars galore. Hope nobody gets hurt.

This trak is the wrong way round. Do it in reverse lots of better corners for overtaking and the first corner becoming the last would be a great last gasp chance.

Where do you break at 4°C track temp?
Probably 15-20 m earlier. Not only the tyres are cold but the brakes will be as well. And with the massive straights it will be very difficult to warm them up naturally. This track was often compared to the Italian Grand Prix, but it seems like a race here is going to more resemble the Monte Carlo Rally rather than that.
Current forecast is 13°c for midnight.
It will be more like mid teens circa 15c, which really ain't that bad as we used to see it all the time at Barcelona pre season testing in Feburary every year.
Cool, but you'd need to add the circuit map otherwise it's so hard to follow
Next time have a display layout of the track in the upper corner showing where exactly you are describing.

Jarno is so sneaky if you watch the video you can hardly see the speed, from which you can roughly deduce what kind of setup he is driving. If you look at the longest straight you can just see the top speed but before he gets to the end of the straight he quickly switches to a different camera point so you can't see his real top speed. Tip, for example, when I get to the end of this straight section I am at a speed of about 358 km or 222 mph, which means that I am driving with little downforce front 11 rear 8 . You will never see that with Jarno because he does not want the opposition to see what kind of setup he is driving with, and understandably so. On his RUclips channel he gives tips on how to drive and adjust the car, but those adjustments are of no use to us , they are for people who are just starting out with the racing game.!!

No I think it will be dropped immediately. No F1 race has ever ran in such cold conditions. The record is 8 degrees at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve when it was ran in October.
Lol, no. F1 is not investing more than half a billion USD, building their own paddock, and signing a ten year agreement with the city just to abandon it after 1 or 5 years.

Imagine if on the night of the race a cold front comes through and the temps are down to 28F . Big mistake with the scheduling on this race. Also I dont like street circuits, you know the walls 🙄
