Cheers Michael. Worked for Sandvik for twelve years. Delt with titanium and zirconium and iron. Very QA. Oriented. Didn't do knives. All military and nuclear. Bowies rock. Nice choice in toys. Glad you are doing well.Slan☘️

@@michaelrizzo5523 one thing I can say about Sandvik, they are open to suggestions and strive for perfection. Curious, was there a warranty?.✌️☘️

@@shawnclifford362 There is a limited lifetime repair/replace warranty, but you have to pay shipping both ways and it's void if you misuse/abuse the product, which I pretty much do. They also don't specify what flaws might not be covered, like maybe sloppy grip scales, and then they'll bill you for the fix.

    Hi Michael,
Would there be any benefit to carrying the knife on the other side?
You could then used both hands to resheath the knife with your non dominant hand holding and tilting the sheath away from your body?
    Great review 🙂

I sometimes do. My bigger concern is getting a clean draw, assuming my other hand is busy.

I definitely prefer the plain white bone to when they try to make it look like fake stag.

Nice knives. Have you thought about trying the Qaddare or Qame? I know they are hard to come by. I ended up having to make all the ones my friends & I use for both live blade & practice but they are good weapons that imo were used so widely for good reason. Slainte.

Great choice of knives Mike and that steel is impressive and rhe price makes it very desirable although I like rhe otjer steel also , I really want rhem both like you got and I'm glad you reviewed rhem both.
I do have a copy of that blade design by Elk Ridge Knives with synthetic handle scale and have admired
that Bear & Sons Original every since. 😊
Thanks Mike for you review 👍 ⚔️👍

I’m thinking of purchasing one of these in damascus and reshaping the grips to a coffin shape. Shouldn’t be too difficult, especially for the people who have a belt sander or grinder. Could be done with files and sandpaper but not as easily. Same thing with the back edge sharpening.

    Great video, as always Michael.
Those knives are beautiful… almost too nice to use. Like my Case X Bowie… the price alone makes me nervous to beat on it.

I was a more than a little nervous, but they held up to some brief hard use and survived.

I appreciate your reviews. I ended up getting the Damascus steel white bone after I watched your video and saw it on sale at Cabelas, I figured at less than half the price why not? Mine has a beefy even grip I like. I hope it holds up well like this version seems to do.

Don't have one. Most reviewers seem really impressed, though. Big tough chunk of steel.

Great reviews. I bought the Damascus version with the white bone handle. Do you have any recommendations on how I can make the handle less slippery? Also any guidance on sharpening the Swedge?

    • @michaelrizzo5523
      @michaelrizzo5523  6 месяцев назад

Some fine sandpaper should help the grip. The swedge took some work with my 4X30 belt sander, working from 80 up to about 1000 grit then finishing by hand. The essential trick is to keep the blade from getting hot by frequently quenching it in cool water, pretty much after every few seconds of belt contact, especially at the coarser grits. I also mark what I'm intending to remove with a marker so I can see what's coming off better. Taping over what you don't want accidentally scraped is also a good idea, but I learned that masking tape stains metal fast, so I use vinyl electrical tape.
