  • I ordered this knife from Amazon & as you can see the blade won't seat into the sheath fully - I contacted Condor and tge got back to me within 24 hours asking for pictures and all my contact information... I'm still having email issues so I figured a video would be a good idea

Steel is 1075 hc Condor is excellent with the steel choice,it some
Fit n Finish or Quality Control issues they need to work on and use
Tip Protectors so you knife will get to yhe buyer without tip damage. 😊

I really appreciate your review of the knife collection. Nothing wrong with a preference for a thicker handle. I'm sure it makes wielding your knife a bit easier.

it is more of a fighter blade, not a survival knife. This is why it is so light weight and has a slim grip,it is nimble and quick.

True, that's definitely a plus the lighter weight Bowie for defense or back up. That's why I love the Cold Steel Marauder. That thing is Badass and light for a large Bowie blade.

At least you doget a bent or mangled tip ,
seeing as Condor Tool & Knife don't use tip protector on their knives. 📸

Instead of adding thickness to the handle, they have a lanyard hole for a cord to do the same thing. I understand that it doesn’t come with a lanyard, so your comments/suggestions are valid. 👍

I can’t find anyone that makes a Bowie knife with all the feature I want. I’ve decided I will need to make my own to get the perfect Bowie knife for me.

I did that with a guy in Tennessee - I really need to finish it up with the handle scales

@@AstroVanTribe be sure to showcase it once you get her done up. I share a similar experience to the guy above.

    Considering that particular knife,
My suggestion would be, in addition to your ideas especially cutting a finger choil into the back of the blade, change the grind on the blade to be either a full flat grind, or a much higher saber grind which will give the knife considerably increased slicing power without changing anything else. Please..do it Condor. I would buy one immediately!

Those are some practical observations based on practical experience!
A good bowie (or other knife for heavy use) should have a handle with a wedge in both perspectives.
The choil fitting a finger is a given, they should have seen that right off.
The guard should have a bit more mass, and be shaped and contoured to be hand friendly when choking up on it while also protecting the hand in a thrust.
THREE pins would be sufficient to hold that handle on, if they were riveted well, and would also put the balance a bit forward and reduce weight.
One thing- you did not mention the grind. Is it the hollow grind typical of modern knives? A convex saber grind would be far better.
Good video, we are on the same page.

I like Condor knife and tool products. With one or two exceptions, I also use Condor packs, though as far as I know, they are different companies.

Leather looks good ,Should of been American, or European Leather, that's when you knoe you have quality ,thick metal, great sign, not sure what type metal ,handle could of been a little more thicker ,I wouldn't place my finger over ,it all depends on your reference, I just wouldn't, it could slice up and that got to slice.Mine are all German, two nazi ,ones ,and one bought in an auction. Great advice on your improvements.🗡 11:45

Companies piss me off with thier sheath game , great knives in fake leather or plastic crap . Ill fitting sheaths damage blades , or rattle in hunting situations.
