@Jonathan Soko Every shop I've ever been to. They sell at prices that will sell. If I walked into a shop looking to buy Conker's and they had the loose version for the same price as the CIB they would never sell it. Ever. Fairy tales don't exist but pricing based on included content totally does.
@North American RUclipsr They also mention what's included. Clearly GameStop wants those high-end collector prices but not to have to do any due diligence. It would actually have to do some work in order to classify what comes with it. GameStop ain't got time for that.
@Jr2nd what? My local GameStop won't even buy a game if it isn't worth $5 in store credit or in a larger group of games, and if they bought it for $1.50 then it went for about $5. They typically buy games for a little under half of what it's worth, that's business. eBay actually has a really good return policy that doesn’t require any interaction from the seller. If the seller doesn’t respond to a return request within the allotted time, you can escalate it to eBay and they will take care of it. Honestly, it is probably easier to return something from eBay than GameStop.
I think anyone spending that much money on a PS1 game, is going to be a collector, they're not looking to "just play the game". That would seriously infuriate me if I were in your situation and I would be returning that crap the very following day. Gamestop needs to start pricing these things accordingly. That game with just the disk alone should not be priced the same as the same game that includes the case and manuals. Love the content buddy, keep it up!
They need to do a grading system like coins or collector cards. Its a no brainer but then again, its Game Stop. I wouldnt expect much. The manager of our store was stealing and selling stuff. Thy finally busted him.
Problem with GameStop is they're selling you non complete physical editions at top prices. None of the pieces are original &/or missing pieces. The worst part is they do this with no disclaimer so you never know what you're buying. it'd be one thing if they told you it's missing pieces but they flat out hide all that info from you.
I'm not arguing with that. Gamestop has a shitload of poor business practices. But they do tell you that it may not come complete. Assume it will come incomplete when purchasing.
@@brosey566 That's a huge problem though. They say "may come incomplete". Okay so what will be missing? You don't know. You don't know what you're buying. The only people who are going to buy these physical copies are collectors, and that's obviously no good. Anyone else will just emulate, I appreciate the experiment regardless buddy, good content. Loved the intro
2 things: Never completely screw or unscrew a screw at once. Go around loosening all screws (i.e. if there are 4 loosen diagonally 1, 3, 2, 4) from one another to even the change in force, to keep from screwing up any of the threads. Next, for that stripped screw, you can most likely stick a big beige rubber band over the head, and then use your screwdriver like normal. When you push it into the head with the screwdriver, the rubber band will (hopefully) give you the extra volume you need to get it out without resorting to a dremel.
If game stop closes the second saddest part will be losing Spawn waves unboxing and tear downs. The first obviously would be all the employees losing their jobs.
they can go work for Walmart, Target, and Dollar General, as Walmart, and Target in my area a lot of times don't have enough cashiers for the amount of traffic they get, and Dollar General could just use actual employees. Plenty of retail jobs for GameStop employees if they bother to look hard enough, so no I won't feel sad for them.
@@DonnaDoveWinters I use to work for DG, and you ain't kidding on that one, plus the way managers(store, and regional) treat employees sometimes wanting employees to drive over an hour one way from the their home store to work at another pulling double shifts on low pay, and no compensation for the travel time, among the way they handle benefits, etc..
I'm glad you paid those prices for a game without a case and one without a manual and not me. That is too bad, but, I'm betting no one out there would have thought any different.
Don't sweat it. The youtube collectors will still buy it and make videos about it, because they need the unboxing and critique content. It's actually a great deal for them.
You can head to Price Charting to find the prices for games, cartridge only, complete in box, box only, manual only. Great video apart from the 2 minute sponsor segment. Really shows that eBay is good for seeing what the product comes with.
At least you can return them for whatever reason. If you have the cash, buy 3 or 4 of the same item, and return whichever ones don’t fit your collectors criteria.
I always hated buying used games from GameStop as they never tell you how does the game come. I even tried their support but they are "unable" to tell you the condition of the game you bought. So instead of using this gamble with over the top prices I started buying my retro games from "ESTARLAND". They inform the precise state of the game you are buying and what comes with it. If you have particular questions their staff can even look at the game in the storage and help you. Super recommended. You should give it a try. :)
you can return on ebay. Even if the seller does not allow returns, if the item is not as described then ebay will force the seller to accept returns. Always better to message the seller first though. Amazon fulfilled returns are much better but ebay is still a great platform for buying used games

I'm waiting for him to get sent a nuclear reactor and then he has to unbox and take it apart LOL
Gamestop retrogaming in America: all this
Gamestop retrogaming in Italy: "oh boy, you really want a ps2 game? Lol"
Good to see the hammer is back to doing what hammers are used to do.
Yeah, I should start using hammers to open my boxes from now on. Lol
Real name of the video: i bought something online and make a unboxing video for no damn reason
His reason was So he had something to make a video about. He has no talent or original thoughts of his own to do an episode so he swings off gamestop nuts all day
This guy just wants to shit on gamestop and Ebay so hes the worst
What are you talking about, he gives gaming news every day , and he’s one of the best content creators in the community.
Idk I was curious to see what he got and in what shape the pricey games came in. Since I'm not gonna do it myself
Ya, isn't it great? I think it is.
Spawn wave is single handedly keeping gamestop store open. Lol
eBay actually has a really good return policy that doesn’t require any interaction from the seller. If the seller doesn’t respond to a return request within the allotted time, you can escalate it to eBay and they will take care of it. Honestly, it is probably easier to return something from eBay than GameStop.
See you fixed the genesis box...
Imagine being able to just, like, buy Xenosaga 3.
This post brought to you by PAL region gang
Haha yeah :(
I got it. Haven’t played it yet. Any good?
@@seanc786 Other than being absolutely phenomenal yeah I hear it's alright
They may be damaging one of the screws deliberately to try to stop people from returning the cartridges without the PCBs in them.
Yay a Spawn Wave video!!! Hype!!
"I am the great mighty poo and I'm going to throw my s#*t at you" conkers was amazing lol
Had to pull out the ol famous hammer . 😂🤘
This video just popped up in my feed and seeing how much John’s setup has changed in just three years is really cool.
After watching this, I looked up Xenosaga 3, and omg. I'm glad I bought it new when it came out.
Great video man I love watching your videos
Bruh, Spawnwave cannot be roasted, he's a literal anti-roast god
His shit attempt at humor is roast-worthy.

Nice shout out to your fans with the Sega box! Loved it!
Problem with GameStop is they're selling you non complete physical editions at top prices. None of the pieces are original &/or missing pieces. The worst part is they do this with no disclaimer so you never know what you're buying. it'd be one thing if they told you it's missing pieces but they flat out hide all that info from you.
They tell you games may come incomplete. Don't assume they will come complete.
Brian Rosenzweig that's poor business practice
I'm not arguing with that. Gamestop has a shitload of poor business practices. But they do tell you that it may not come complete. Assume it will come incomplete when purchasing.
The worst part is that people are actually buying from them
@@brosey566 That's a huge problem though. They say "may come incomplete". Okay so what will be missing? You don't know. You don't know what you're buying. You shouldn't have to assume what you're getting when you're buying a physical edition. Maybe it's not a big deal to some people but to majority of people that still buy physical editions we buy them for the complete package.
2:30 Xenosaga III for PS2/ ExpressVPN segway
4:48 Bad Fur Day for N64
4:57 Harvest Moon for N64
15:32 Brigandine for Playstation
16:52 Megaman for Nintendo
Your welcome
BU3 D you’re*
I came here just for the joke about the Sega Genesis box XD
Maybe that's stripped screw was done on purpose so someone wanted swap the board at with a bootleg
That copy of Conker is phenomenal. Similar condition to the copy I got years back complete in box before it was stolen from me. A sad day for me for sure.
watching you bend that pristine condition conkers heat plate just made me die inside.
get over it fruitcake
me too, i mean like if hes gunna break the game just give it to me ive been wanting that game since it was released, not that crappy censored xbox version
@@nestofskyrie472 get the rare replay on Xbox.
@@dragoon1090 is it the original N64 version? or the censored Xbox re-release? cuz im not spending the money if its the censored one, (not sure how true this is but apparently litterally everyone else who was around for the N64 version feels the same way i do)
The only people who are going to buy these physical copies are collectors, and that's obviously no good. Anyone else will just emulate, I appreciate the experiment regardless buddy, good content. Loved the intro
I got Brigandine complete from my Salvation army a few years back for $1, I had no idea it was expensive until now
2 things:
Never completely screw or unscrew a screw at once.
50 Hammers..? Yes! Definitely necessary.
I demand 100 hammers!
This is my favorite series of videos you produce. Keep up the fantastic work SpawnWave!
I love this series!
Dude -Calls people savages
Dude -Opens a box with a HAMMER
Me- This will haunt me...
" bunch of savages in this town"
"order a few games and see what they send us" .....hopefully they...erm...send you the games you ordered :D
Can't you get a knife like a normal mortal?
These videos are why I subscribed. Just fantastic content!
Good to see SpawnWave getting so popular, been here since like 20k subs
I like the comedy you're added to these videos
If game stop closes the second saddest part will be losing Spawn waves unboxing and tear downs. The first obviously would be all the employees losing their jobs.
Lol
they can go work for Walmart, Target, and Dollar General, as Walmart, and Target in my area a lot of times don't have enough cashiers for the amount of traffic they get, and Dollar General could just use actual employees. Plenty of retail jobs for GameStop employees if they bother to look hard enough, so no I won't feel sad for them.
@@CommodoreFan64 They don't have enough cashiers because corporate doesn't want to pay for labor.
@@CommodoreFan64 That's terrible. I'm sorry you were treated like shit in corporate retail. I work in retail right now and it's very soul crushing
I'm glad you paid those prices for a game without a case and one without a manual and not me. That is too bad, but, I'm betting no one out there would have thought any different.
Would never buy an expensive game from gamestop after seeing this display.
Everyone ripped off your idea, dude.
At least you can return them for whatever reason. If you have the cash, buy 3 or 4 of the same item, and return whichever ones don’t fit your collectors criteria.
Why do you diss eBay so much, they’re refund policy is better than any marketplace period.
And if not then PayPal will get the job done.
Yep
I always hated buying used games from GameStop as they never tell you how does the game come. I even tried their support but they are "unable" to tell you the condition of the game you bought. So instead of using this gamble with over the top prices I started buying my retro games from "ESTARLAND". They inform the precise state of the game you are buying and what comes with it. If you have particular questions their staff can even look at the game in the storage and help you. Super recommended. You should give it a try. :)
'most expensive'
Nothing over $100 here.
GameStop takes apart most retro games to make sure some one isn’t pulling a fast one.
Do a refurbished phone video
you can return on ebay. Even if the seller does not allow returns, if the item is not as described then ebay will force the seller to accept returns. Always better to message the seller first though. Amazon fulfilled returns are much better but ebay is still a great platform for buying used games
I see you watch MetalJesusRocks because you repeated a few lines from the video.
That trolling gets better
No earthbound? Guessing it wasnt stocked since a few people have got fakes from gamestop and would have been cool to see what you got
Edit:
Just checked and they are all out
I'm wary of buying retro games from Gamestop.....definitely would not buy Earthbound from them with all the fakes out there.
djl3485 i got a fake Pokémon silver from them
@@brentbroadbent3957 Shame. I'll stick to retro game shops......even ebay is more trustworthy
@@djl3485 Gamestop isnt buying fakes on purpose its just that some slip in but yeah go to retro shops honestly or flea markets and bring a screw driver to open em to see if they're the real deal
@@Nico-il1tn True but if they are selling retro games and they are turning out to be fakes then that means they are doing their job and verifying the games.
I like your videos and your style, you don't annoy me at all and that's high praise from me
16:51 'Mega Man 2 label looks good' First time somebody said that!
"Buncha savages in this town".
LOOOOOOOOOOOL y'all cuties
these labels are really good... almost too good... is it possible that GameStop is reprinting labels?
I can't stop watching your videos thank you
