Thank you for that lovely drive up through France. Sherralin you never fail to amaze , your professional approach to your getting the job done a credit you.
Sherralin as a retired lorry driver myself of 50+ years and never done Europe your videos are the most enjoyable to watch I like your very practical no nonsense approach to your job I can’t stand most of the European drivers full of bragging bullxxxt and stupid remarks .well done with your old school style and understanding of how to do the job properly thanks and stay safe.
I recall getting stuck in rural France due to farmer's strikes in the mid 80's on a family holiday. There were long lines of holiday traffic stuck with a tractor+trailer parked across the road and the french farmers were giving verbal what-for to any car with a GB sticker on it (I guess they were protesting about 'foreign' imports). One of them spotted the "Ecosse" sticker on our vehicle and he started shouting "Whiskey...whiskey!!" to his colleagues and ushered us around the road block via a field margin !! Got love the French attitude to everything 🤣😁
😂😂 I remember a long time ago the guy I work for now bought a lorry for his son to drive. It had a Welsh flag on the number plate, confused everyone 😂😂
It's nice to see a professional driver still interested in the job and sharing all the vast information with us. I especially like the facilities that you show and how the paperwork is done not many drivers do this which is a big part of the job day to day.
Back on. Had to log off last night. Just got back as you came off for Caen and then took your own initiative by going where the others don't follow. Well done Sherralin, that's what I've done in the past as well. Take alternative routes. This is what happens when relying totally 100% on satnavs. Atlas books never fail you. If you know your way about use the knowledge. My favourite saying is "Never forget what you've learned"
I admire your patience and professionalism doing this job. How you manage to keep so calm and cool in the face of all the unplanned challenges is uplifting. Safe travels x
Very good and most interesting I found it captivating viewing in a good way , You make an excellent narrator and make a good travel journalist too Look forward to seeing more videos like this
Hi,lady love the way you narrate you're videos, also you're work ethic and attitude loved the wee truck video on map, take care and how do I get you a coffee!,? regards from Scotland 🏴🏴🇬🇧🤣🙏🚜🚛🚛
@8:19 I spent 15 years driving HGVs from Nantes area to the French/Italian Alpes. This sign means you have to have snow chains with the vehicle and you are allowed to have studded (winter/snow) tires on the road between the shown dates, normally forbidden on motorways. You often load up near my mother's in Almoradi/Orihuela. Keep up the great videos, whilst I have given up the road, these videos make me remember what I miss about the job, great views and something new every day.
The bridge is the height from the valley floor to the top of the pylons. A few years ago, Eddie Stobart got some of his trucks (I think it was around 12 of them) to go across whilst a picture was taken (the photographer was on the left side high up on the hill as you approached the bridge). The police intervened to say they couldn't do it one after the other, and had to spread themselves out. I just wished I had gone over when we were on holiday. May have said in earlier videos. We and hubby did a trip to Castellane in the Provence area back in 1993 when the French lorry drivers were on strike. The whole of the motorway network was packed with vehicles (it was in June), and we travelled from Dieppe to Castellane just using the N roads. It was good and got to see some wonderful scenery, and managed to get fuel with no problem as we had a petrol engine rather than diesel as the French use mainly diesel, so they had virtually run out. I actually enjoyed pitting my wits, as I loved using the paper map. No satnavs back then🤣
Just found your channel, really enjoyed it. Not a truck driver but I use the Millau road down to the south of France a number of times a year and on to Spain towing my caravan. Some of the descents are quite scary with the caravan so with all the weight of the truck and trailer must be quite a challenge. Agree it puts a strain on vehicles and fuel disappears very quickly on the accents, also notice the number of burnt tarmac on the road where vehicles have given up is a common site. Don't use the toll roads unless forced but find the Millau bridge very expensive so use a overnight stop in a campsite in Millau on the river which costs the same.
Well done Sherralin, Nice to see how it should be done by someone that knows what they are doing, As most nowadays would be lost if they had to come off the Motorway.. You are a PROPER European Driver, Thanks for showing us your sklls, I also agree with mickpalmer2834, All the very Best and stay Safe xx

Hi Sherralin, good to hear you extolling the value of still carrying a map. With 42 years driving heavies in UK/Europe I know I’m turning into an old codger, I have never & still don’t use a Sat-Nav but I don’t criticise those that do, each to their own, but you can’t beat the proven ‘Old Skool’ values. My son is 18 & just passed his Class 1 & is venturing into Europe, luckily he works for a small family company & has a great Boss, but I have told him that no matter how swanky his Sat-Nav is you always carry a map as a back-up, we have younger drivers where I work & they are 100% reliant on their Sat-Navs, as I always say technology is great when it works, but you have got to be able to work it out yourself when you haven’t got an I-pad, floppy disc or a mouse! New subscriber & I will definitely be watching again, like your calm/balanced approach to the job. Take care.
To be honest, I use both. GPS, google maps are really helpful when you need to look at a specific area, like trying to find the best way into a farm etc. Being able to walk the little man down a street that has a bridge on can let you know if you can get under it or not. But a paper map gives you the bigger picture, let’s you see there’s different roads apart from the obvious. Great to hear your son has pasted his test, young people is just what the industry needs. Good luck to him. 🍀 Thanks for watching. 😁
Great video again Sherralin..... I was super excited when you went over the Millau bridge as it was on my bucket list (I know I am that sad person) which we managed to do in November on the way back from Barcelona (we live near Limoges) but the visibility was less than 100yds as the rain and mist was so bad we never saw the views so a big thankyou. And the town is St Flour and was a fortified village on top of a extinct volcano and the building you could see was the cathedral and well worth a visit. Then you went Le Mans/Alencon which was my old stomping ground from miss-spent youth as we would go to Le Mans to watch bike racing so know the area really well, happy days. Many thanks again and take care out there......Alan👌👍🥰
Thanks for the info. We can’t park in the area near the bridge but I bet the view from there is great. St Flour looks like an interesting place, if you’re not stuck in traffic 🤦🏼♀️😂. Glad you enjoyed it. 😁
Been watching your videos for a while & finally decided to comment. I really enjoy them as you travel on a lot of roads/routes I visited in the 70's while living in Scotland (North Sea oil bum!) and riding about on my Triumph Bonneville. Plus your narrations are always interesting and informative. Your driving skills are also impressive especially sitting on the "wrong side" of the truck!! And your patience with the vagaries of customs, immigration, etc. is admirable! Stay safe and keep filming...from Jack in New Orleans..
Really enjoyed that, I needed one of your videos this week as in hospital after a bleed on my brain. Your calm voice and no nonsense approach is much appreciated and in away got me out of my hospital bed this morning. I look forward to your next video.
Got told by thehead doctor this morning that I wont be able to drive for 6 months, so your videos will be even more important so I can drive vicariously through them them.
Clever lady ,I bet half those poor stranded drivers never carry real road maps with them (sign of maturity ,good for You !) This is where Your uncanny patience pays off to surely . Hope you got back to Uk finally without "extra passengers" .Thanks for the video .
Great vid again, love the use of old school and new, ( sat nav and paper map ) I always carried an atlas on it I marked up places to park over night, good places to eat etc. Stay safe.
Hi Sherralin. Been watching your videos for a couple of months. Especially loved the one where you loaded in my home town of Durham I regularly used to run up the A 75 empty after tipping in Perpignan on my way back to Germany where I now live. Toll free and very pretty. Before the viaduct was built, heading down the mountainside into Millau was always a bit of an experience 😂 Fair play to you for coming off the motorway and working your way around the jams. Most drivers would have just stayed on the motorway ans not risked "going native" 🤣🤣👍 Take care and keep the great videos coming 👍
As always a great vlog & on this one common sense and the professional driver shon through by checking the roads with s proper map book & avoiding most of the hold ups , stay safe have a great weekend & keep on trucking xxx
Great video, lovely views & Mediterranean sun! Your rig looked splendid after a good wash. Intelligent driving & route finding; very impressive. Thanks for sharing!

this vidèo is fantastic, splendid views with the millau viaduct. 42 minutes of relaxation watching your new road to clermont . thank you for this pleasant video.good roads and good luck.
Looking amazing and the truck looks quite good as well.😂😂💖💖 That was a really impressive bridge, wouldn't want to be scared of heights going across. 😱😱 The scenery is lovely must cheer you up if you're having a frustrating day, like today with the protests. Was going to ask if you still flash other lorries when they are overtaking to let them know they are safe to pull in, but you answered my question by doing it at 32:30. Thanks once again for a really interesting and informative video. Stay safe.
Great journey Sherralin 😊 My wife love the route over the Millau viaduct when we drive to Spain and usually stop overnight in the village 👍🏻 Love your videos 😊 xx
Really interesting Vlog Sherralin. Bonnie views but as say those roads must take it out of the truck. Glad you managed to get through. Safe trip. I do love a clean truck 😎
Another great video , Thanks for taking the time to put that together , You have the patience of a Saint. Stay safe out there , And hopefully the disruption will be over soon .
Great vid once again have lived in France for twenty years, is it possible to show some road numbers now and again and confirm routes taken,, keep posting
Fascinating video. So interesting to see the blockades and the effect they have of free flowing traffic. It must be fun driving through all the countryside as part of your job. Cheers
If you are finishing before you embark. Finish your day then use the ferry movement to get on, put it back on break once on board. If you are finishing once you have boarded but will need to finish break when you are getting off, you use the ferry movement to get off then put it back onto break to finish break.
@truth3358 Yes that’s what it’s called. You use your “ferry movement” to interrupt your break. Remember though , you can interrupt your break only twice, both interruptions added together must not be more that 1 hour.
We had the same problem when they shut the A10 so we headed west and used the A84. Nice to meet you on the ferry the other day, keep the videos coming-excellent stuff!
Hi sherralin done that drive from beziers to Claremont Fernand màny times in the 90s up and down is right through all them little towns, watched them build the milleau viaduct but sadly never got to drive over it, we used to drive all way up to calais . I remember sleeping in topline r on a high pass near Claremont was star watching with sun roof open , woke up cold id fell asleep and it bloody snowed on me 😂😂😂😂 ah the good old days of the 90s. Be safe and keep up the posts. I'love to see where you go as i live in canada now ❤❤
Good for you Sherralin…….if it doesn’t say you can’t, it’s fair game that you CAN!!!! Great moving commentary too. Seeing the views is making me envious and ready for my next French road trip later in the year.
Hi S! Another great journey, have done the Millau town ☹️ in the old days - and the bridge soon after opening, it’s just fab. But didn’t see as much as your camera did so great bonus to see the scenery. Clever traffic ‘weave’ - your experience of continental driving showed thru., as always. Thanks, been watching out for your new video. I think I’ve caught up the ‘back catalogue’ and there are a few 👍😀. Phil, Suffolk, U.K.
Excellent vlog as usual, was just thinking of all the Tacho infringements caused by the farmers actions, bet the Spanish police will have a field day, no mercy! Volvo looking good after his wash.
When you went through did any other truck follow you l have had this with other trucks then they followed me. Not know why they do that. Like sheep following all the other trucks. Lol
brilliant video, well done on carrying "paper maps" I still have a collection of them for the U.K. google/tom tom still don't score 100% all the time, the old grey matter keeps the knowledge there when it matters most. stay safe
I use both. Google maps is helpful as you can walk the little man down to see if there’s any restrictions but a paper map gives you the bigger picture. Thanks for watching 😁
I know you said in one of your videos, you were going to put in a CB radio, are they still used? I occasionally listen in on all the various frequencies and hear nothing.
There is some really interesting parking in these situations. Most just stop on the hard shoulder or even slip roads, there’ll be queues and queues of lorries so no one tries to move them.
The French farmers were a bit late coming to the current lot of protests! The Germans and Dutch started it off with the French and Belgians joining in. It`s huge protest aimed at the EU which wants to decimate farming in preference to artificially produced food. It`s just that the French go the whole nine yards in the way they do it, hence they get the biggest coverage.
As the mother of a farmer I can totally empathise with them. But this is not a political channel and I will not make any comment. Thanks for watching 😁
A speed limiter can be set at whatever speed you want. For HGV/LGV’s like this one it can be anything up to max 90kmh (56ish) in UK & Europe. Some companies set them at 50mph, some 54mph or whatever suits them. Confusingly, the legal speed limit on motorways in UK is still 60mph.
Murmont3560; if You want subtitles do this when video is playing. Lightly touch screen of Phone untill You see a bunch of different symbols on top of the video that's playing. You will see what looks like a round cog wheel in the top right hand corner. If You tap that little cog/wheel a little screen will pop up + one of the lines will say captions. Tap that and then You should see option tap the English (auto generated) one and You should have captions + I imagine if Your on a PC or laptop just do the same with Your mouse + You should be ok. Hope that helps. That's how I do it on my phone. 😊
Hi A very good video once again. Road hold ups and divertions are never much fun. Go carefully.

Stay safe.
Yep I do. 👍🏻Thanks for watching. 😁
Great journey Sherralin 😊 My wife love the route over the Millau viaduct when we drive to Spain and usually stop overnight in the village 👍🏻 Love your videos 😊 xx
Thank you 😁
Really interesting Vlog Sherralin. Bonnie views but as say those roads must take it out of the truck. Glad you managed to get through. Safe trip. I do love a clean truck 😎
Thanks for watching 😁
Great Video, well done for bucking the system with your little detours, UK 1, France 0.
Thank you 😁
Another great job mate👍🇦🇺
Thank you 😁👍🏻
Another great video , Thanks for taking the time to put that together , You have the patience of a Saint. Stay safe out there , And hopefully the disruption will be over soon .
Thank you. 😁
Great vid once again have lived in France for twenty years, is it possible to show some road numbers now and again and confirm routes taken,, keep posting
Thanks for watching 😁
Awesome trucking keep enjoying life Phil.
Thank you 😁
Fascinating video. So interesting to see the blockades and the effect they have of free flowing traffic. It must be fun driving through all the countryside as part of your job. Cheers
Best part of the job 😁
Great video
Me fridge woke me up so I thought I watch your great video 👍
😂 Turn over and go back to sleep 😂😂
@@GBtruckladyquestion do you put you tacho on ferry mode when in port or on boat
If you are finishing before you embark. Finish your day then use the ferry movement to get on, put it back on break once on board. If you are finishing once you have boarded but will need to finish break when you are getting off, you use the ferry movement to get off then put it back onto break to finish break.
@@GBtruckladyim doing split break
@truth3358 Yes that’s what it’s called. You use your “ferry movement” to interrupt your break. Remember though , you can interrupt your break only twice, both interruptions added together must not be more that 1 hour.
We had the same problem when they shut the A10 so we headed west and used the A84. Nice to meet you on the ferry the other day, keep the videos coming-excellent stuff!
Glad to hear you made it. Thanks for watching 😁
I'love to see where you go as i live in canada now ❤❤
I used to love my 164, best bed ever 😁👍🏻
Another ace video! You certainly know your job.....
Thank you 😁

Thank you for sharing, we very much enjoyed your content and views, very enlightening and a relaxed narration - perfect
Thank you. 😁
Good for you Sherralin…….if it doesn’t say you can’t, it’s fair game that you CAN!!!! Great moving commentary too. Seeing the views is making me envious and ready for my next French road trip later in the year.
Thank you. I hope you enjoy your trip.
Thank you 😁
Bit of a pain in the backside, but the farmers have got a point don't you think? Can you imagine that happening over here, utter chaos. Drive safe.
I don’t get paid to think 😁
at lymm truckwash they take 5 minutes to wash youre truck but they do miss bits
They are also cheaper but I wasn’t in the area at the time 😂😁😁
Excellent vlog as usual, was just thinking of all the Tacho infringements caused by the farmers actions, bet the Spanish police will have a field day, no mercy! Volvo looking good after his wash.
You do see some interesting parking in these situations 😂😁
Thanks for the great video. Remember them building Millau Bridge. ❤
Thank you. 😁
When you went through did any other truck follow you l have had this with other trucks then they followed me. Not know why they do that. Like sheep following all the other trucks. Lol
The buses followed me but I think it still took a while before the other lorries were brave enough to break from the flock 😂😂
brilliant video, well done on carrying "paper maps" I still have a collection of them for the U.K. google/tom tom still don't score 100% all the time, the old grey matter keeps the knowledge there when it matters most. stay safe
I use both. Google maps is helpful as you can walk the little man down to see if there’s any restrictions but a paper map gives you the bigger picture. Thanks for watching 😁
Well done. Brilliant . No need for a commentary , the video said it all.
Thanks for watching 😁
I know you said in one of your videos, you were going to put in a CB radio, are they still used? I occasionally listen in on all the various frequencies and hear nothing.
Europeans still use them more than us.
Hi what truck are you driving
What happens if you are caught in a hold up and nearing your daily hours and there are no obvious parking areas?
There is some really interesting parking in these situations. Most just stop on the hard shoulder or even slip roads, there’ll be queues and queues of lorries so no one tries to move them.
These French farmers did they have to pay the tolls for the motorways?
No toll on that bit. 😁
Hola chica...😊
Hola 👋🏻
What are the speed restrictions on HGV you pass lorries then lorries pass you so are they not all set to the same speed limit
A speed limiter can be set at whatever speed you want. For HGV/LGV’s like this one it can be anything up to max 90kmh (56ish) in UK & Europe. Some companies set them at 50mph, some 54mph or whatever suits them. Confusingly, the legal speed limit on motorways in UK is still 60mph.
always love it when people begin to shout at me while beeing ignorant themselves
😂😂 You don’t know how true that is this week! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
and its messis up your driving hours.
Yes, it can get very frustrating. 😁
Hi Sherralin...... you got a hard of hearing subscriber here......appreciate it if you switch on the sub titles........i enjoy you vids....cheers.
Hi, the subtitles are turned on my end, unfortunately it’s down to RUclips. Sorry, maybe contact RUclips. 😁
EU policy causing all this
Thanks for watching 😁
