The Arch on the hill is, The Gate of the Catalan Countries (Catalan: Porta dels Països Catalans), a work of the sculptor Emili Armengol, marks the Northern starting location of the Catalan Countries .
@@GBtrucklady I passed it last about 2007 hadn't been that way since 1990s, thought "I don't remember that?" Looked it up , so it must've been put there between 2000-2007? A bit like a Frenchman passing the Angel of the North? 🤣
Loving these videos of your European adventures , I know most of those places you go to as I did europe for 40 yr , retired and board shxxxxless now wish I was still working in Europe , stay safe and keep on trucking safely xxxxxxx
Greetings out of Africa! This is one of the most pleasant trucker trip videos I've ever seen - absolutely breathtaking (or is it the calmness of the driver...?...))) - thanks for sharing.
Good evening from our yard in Trafford Pk lol 😆 done that road lots of times so seeing with now is awesome 👏🏻 Thanks for the ride again and the fantastic information 👍🏻 Wish I was still doing European as I’d love to have met you and bought you a coffee Sherralin and tell stories lol 😆 take care cheers Stevie 😎
Hello from canada, love your content, especially the fact you will have a go at anything. Your video of loading at JCB uttoxeter was 👍🏿. Reminds me of when I was working for richard long ,wymondham norfolk,we regularly loaded JCB,for europe, my best tip was Santiago de compostella jcb.local guy took me to bar ,then went to the bassicilica ❤❤. Keep up good work and be safe out there.
I don't why but i don't have a lot of time for the French but i am most impressed with the lack of litter and rubbish on the sides of the roads especially in the towns and villages
Good evening from a new subscriber. great video love that you showed us some of the National Roads in France. haven’t seen them before. what’s the speed limit on them roads fro a truck? Great content i’ll look forward to the next one 👍👍
RUclips recommended your wonderful channel because of Barcleona in the subject line. Please add starting and destination places' names to your every video. Thank you and be safe!
Some lovely scenery along the way there. Near the end when the roads started getting wet you would nearly think you where going through a town in Ireland only your are driving on the right hand side of the road 😂😂. Your audio is crystal clear on your videos. What mic are you using.
@@GBtrucklady I'm from Ireland myself. Do you be here much or just all of Europe. Done a little bit of Europe years ago and done a lot of the UK over the years. Just working at home these days.
@@burgerman3 I’ve spent a good while backwards & forwards over the years. My Mom was from the north, I was married to a Dublin man. My best friend lives in South Derry. When I first had my own lorry I pulled for Woodside. I don’t get over with the lorry much now as the rates aren’t so good but socially I do. 😊
@@GBtrucklady That's pretty vague, the A20 is a long road? 🤣 Ouistraham is Caen (ish). There's a Routiers at Caen near the AS24 do you mean there? That's good going girl 👍🏻 wow!
@@Rob-on-the-Road No I didn’t make it to Ouistraham (ferry terminal). I stopped at a rest area on A20 north of Limoges, then went to catch ferry. Yes there is a routiers in Caen but it’s not a good place to stop if you are heading towards the ferry because of the risk of illegal immigrants.
From what I can find out, it appears the architecture on the side of roads are larger examples of Mudéjar art which was brought to Iberia by muslims in the medieval times. The architecture was placed on the sides of the highway for the enjoymont of the drivers
Back in the days (2000 or so) the French used to fine you for things not done in France. IE: The Finnish police was not that hard on rest and driving time, as long that they could see you have had a good long sleep. It was the paper discs at that time, any dodgy rest/driving discs in the truck, could be expensive. The French police fined you for violations done days and 1000 km ago, and it wasn't cheap. My GUESS is that this policy has been stooped now, when you can prove the violation ain't done in France. Bloody French.
