I just started playing PoE really late in Affliction. I played Boneshatter Slayer and had a blast with it. I completed the Atlas and 2 Voidstones before running out of time. I'm also thinking Boneshatter Slayer again for league start and then perhaps switching to Lightning Strike Champion for end game after I have fun with Slayer. I was thinking of trying Boneshatter Jugg this time but if I go Slayer I can switch to Champion without having to level up another character. I like your Atlas tree for league start. I think I will do something similar there as well. Thanks for sharing!

As far as unlocking new trees, in the announcement video it was unlocked by completing a normal atlas objective. So at least one of them is tied to normal atlas completion.
Essences: I expect the Essence-affected boss to drop essences. This also makes "chance to gain additional essence" anti-synergistic.
I'm gonna set up a tree for scarab farming with Bestiary+Essence+Anarchy with new scarab notables. Then I'll add keystones like Cast Up The Stakes and the one that wisps up bosses. What I lose in this strat in Betrayal progress I hope to gain back with fracture and unique drops from all the big enemies. Also imagine fighting six wisped-up essencesed-up bosses. It's going to be ridiculous.

oh! interesting take on the essence node, yeah it would make a lot of sense if the essenced boss drops essences. that would be cool, maybe you can farm some map with an easy boss then
wisped up essenced bosses sounds crazy 😂

i feel like if your build can handle it 1 of the trees with all the boss map nodes should go into destructive play instead of an altar. then you would have a red altar, blue altar, and maven tree

Hey Smokie, could you put a link to your loot filter in the description, or in the comments? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Crystal Ressonance seems to be pretty much all about gambling in combination with Amplified Energies, hoping every essence gets replaced by the one that got upgraded to the highest tier. Same goes for the Crystal Lattice node. More essences on a monster = higher chance of a rare essence and a chance that this rare essences gets upgraded to it's highest tier.

Do you have a video on SSF Stash Tab Management? If not, please create one!

I'll probably don't play melee this league, don't know if catarina will drop veiled chaos every time, and crafting all the gear was already hard(for me), so I'll take the easy way out and play DD.

Great content, love finding SSF focused creators like yourself! :)
I am curious, is there a specific reason you haven't opted to use the new keystone node "Thorough Exploration" for any of your trees? Maybe the starter tree won't make much use of it when you are speeding through maps and mostly going for completion, and have a weaker build. But wouldn't that node be very good later on? Possibly for the 2nd and 3rd atlas tree?
Another thought I've been considering myself is, if it's worth it to rush another new keystone "Unwavering Vision" for the quick boost of 20 atlas passive points. And then later on respeccing it. Would you say its not worth it at all in SSF, because you want to maximize the amount of scarabs you collect throughout the progression of the atlas?
The loss of crafting options with the veiled chaos is sad, as a novice crafter I'm really hoping the league mechanic helps out with stuff like good boots now.. :D I am inhaling a lot of copium and crossing all fingers that the new version of the veiled chaos has a good drop rate from Catarina, so that we can at least expect some uses of them in even in SSF.
And the Call to Arms nerf is a big F, hopefully you can sustain the increased mana cost when using the new support gem for your warcries.
Thank you for your sharing your plans and ideas for 3.24, best of luck in the league! :)

hmm, i actually just totally forgot about thorough exploration. if your build is strong enough i think it's worth it, but IIRC wisped-up bosses were really strong last league while not dropping substantially more loot. we'd have to test it out, but my hunch is it might not be worth taking unless you have a 10m+ DPS build.
i have no idea about unwavering vision TBH. i think i'll personally avoid it because 20 points is not a huge deal, and speccing out of it seems annoying. also, yeah, if the new scarabs are good, i'd love to get a few randomly during the climb to t16 and just run them. if it was closer to the start, i'd be more tempted to take it, but eh...it's so far away. instead of pathing to it, you could just go straight for some early power nodes.
i am also inhaling copium with regards to necropolis crafting! Prayge...

@@smokie_777 Yeah fair point, might end up being a lot of work killing mega tanky bosses for little to no gain. Thankfully a lot of times you can path right by Thorough Exploration, so testing it out won't be more than a 1 point investment.
I was uncertain for the same reason regarding Unwavering Vision. Compared to Stream of Consciousness it might not be all that great. Will be a lot more fun going for a bit of map sustain and then straight into some league mechanics anyway. I really like taking Bribery node paired with Effective Leadership straight away. But I will likely steal your betrayal setup after finding most unveiled crafts and unspecing those nodes. I think you are spot on about skipping Intelligence Gathering on the top of the tree, not needing it when you can 100% Jun on maps now. :)

Do you not pick up shaping the skies like in your 3.22 ssf atlas ? I was wondering also in which order you grab wheels but from your last video on the topic i'm assuming you do >Kirac > Expedition > Essence > Betrayal > Harvest and then end game bosses. Thanks a lot for the amazing vid

Okei one question left, why not juggernaut? Do you think slayer is anoth defense? Nice video anyway!

Allright, I suppose I'm yoinking your builds, since I can't find anything reasonable for a first time SSF playthrough, but now I've checked the pobs it all seems achievable for the crafting level im at. I've always been a trade league andy and finally feel comfortable enough to leaguestart SSF. Like the whole idea of playing a game and not worrying about certain content being profitable and certain content being just skipped just because your div/h is just bad has become stale to me. I cant wait for the hardships and satisfaction of having to farm everything yourself :D Looking forward to any build updates

Looking at your trees, I'll probably skip the deli + blight tree and focus on expedition with probably ritual/blight. Mainly for Rog crafting and being able to get some extra bubblegum currency from Tujen.

Amplified Energies says you will have 'at least' 1 essence at the highest tier. So adding the +3 with Crystal Lattice might be worth it maybe? If it rolls each essence for a chance to be max tier, it could result in multiple rolling max.
Also, from what I understand of Crystal Resonance, it replaces all essences with the same type. Not just reduces it down to a single one, yeah? So if I've got 5 different kinds, using the Remnant will pick one of those 5, and turn all the rest into that one. More reason to use the +3 node, I think. Basically a gamble for getting several stacks of a really good essence rather than a bunch of random ones. If it's truly random, it might be good. If it's super weighted against picking the more rare ones, then probably not worth it.
Also I'm guessing rerolling with the Remnant wont reroll the chances for more to appear, or their chance to be upgraded to max tier, but who knows with PoE?
Unless I'm just room temp IQ and not understanding this correctly.

hmm good takes, but yeah, we'd have to test it out to see if it's good or not... 🤔🤔🤔

@smokie_777 I was getting close to having an Atlas put together when I saw the Necropolis nodes. Totally forgot that was a thing. Pretty much all of them fall into that same category lol A few seem good. It might be worth it, early crafting is rough in ssf, I'd love some help from Mr. Filch.
