- Today we continue our journey through Birmingham and the surrounding areas, on the Birmingham Canal Navigations. headed for Catherine Dee Barnes on the Grand Union Canal. You join us at the bottom of the Camp Hill flight. After already having done 22 locks, I now have to do 6 more before the final 7-mile stretch to the van, which is parked in Catherine Dee Barnes. But there's a problem, a lock gate won't open. So we could be trapped in a rough area of Birmingham.

It is such a terrible shame to see you passing through those beautiful places with lovely greens and bluebells flowering and all the rubbish that people just abandon in or by the canal. It’s heart rending and I can see how upset you were. Even the industrial areas have their own beauty but it’s just the rubbish. And the worry of what a few can do. Stay safe.
I wish more people would take their rubbish home with them Marilyn. It is so sad to see as the canals are do beautiful. Even the urban ones are nice.😊

With regards to the rubbish and also the un functioning water point, always ring CR. I’ve done this a lot about different things and my experience is that they will send someone out straight away.
Tell them about that awful rubbish and also tell them about the water point; ask them to fit a BW key to the water point.
Your eyes looked very tired. Just rest , ok?

camp pilgrim give us an absolute it's one of the worst canals in the u. k. absolutely disgusting so many problem families live in the area

The reason nobody says anything is because they don’t want to be called a raci5t just go around Birmingham certain areas are just full of rubbish but nothing is done 😡
